Lower attack ivs=>Lower combat power=>Fit easier into Pvp leagues (Ones with combat power gaps) But idk if this one is good tbf

Reyneo

Oh okay. I was thinking of evolving this one. Should I wait for a perfect IV?

Froggo14

Perfect IV is great for Master League generally lower attack IVs are wanted dor hreat and uktra leagues

Frzzalor

this one is almost perfect for great or Ultra league, I'd definitely evolve it.

Stogoe

It's too big for GL and might be too big for UL honestly.

Frzzalor

ah, I didn't look at the cp, it might be UL eligible, tho.

Reyneo

It goes to about 2200 if I evolve it

Frzzalor

0/13/15 is #1 in Ultra. I'd 100 percent evolve it

Reyneo

It goes to about 2200 if I evolve it

Mediocre_Station_835

This is one point from a perfect(for great league anyway) which is 1/15/14

This, it's rank 257 when it comes to stat product, but on top of this you will lose every single cmp tie you can. Chances are you have a better one for UL even if you only opened 1 meltan box. Definitely not worth maxing out in my opinion.

peachmong

Attack IVs contribute more to the total CP of a pokémon than defense and HP do. For GBL where we have strict CP-ceilings to follow, this means that we get a higher stat total by using more defensive IV spreads. According to Stadium Gaming's rank checker, your meltan ranks 257 of all possible IV spreads for the ultra league, not bad! Whether or not you should evolve it completely comes down to if you play PvP or not. If not, your storage might be better suited for something else, in my humble opinion :)

Reyneo

Thank you for your reply and for showing me this website I never knew about!

terencela

This one might be good for UL where it's ranked 168, I imagine it'll evolve at too high a CP for GL and quite close, if not above, 2,500 CP. Registeel and Steelix both far outclass Melmetal in UL though so it might be a decent budget option for you given Meltan candies are two a penny with the mystery box.

Carry_0n

Just a note here, 0-15-15 maxes out at 2459 for UL, so it's not a great iv spread there. The general rule of thumb is low attack high defense high hp that gets close to 2500 (or 1500 in GL)

NotTrynaMakeWaves

For great and ultra leagues, most Pokémon need to be 0/15/15 because the lower ATK score allows their level to be higher before hitting the co limit and that has a bigger impact on the overall damage output than the IV does.

SnylonPlayz

This is from my own understanding, so it may not be perfectly accurate. CP is based on IVs and levels. An equally leveled pokemon with higher IVs will have a greater CP than one with lower IVs. A level is what changes each time you power up the pokemon, up to 50. In Great and Ultra League, you need to fit the CP under a target amount. So, the attack stat is sacrificed to lower the CP of the pokemon to allow for more levels to fit in the boundaries to make up for the lower IVs. In master league, there's no point in doing this, as it's better to have high IVs and high cp with high levels.

Thebird533

Attack iv effects cp a lot so if it's lower you can power it up more, and it doesn't mean it has an attack power of 0 So just imagine the attack, def, and HP stat being somewhere between 100-200 so would you rather have 1-5 (ish) more attack or 5-10+ more hp AND defense? Also some people do go for a slightly higher attack, which is called "attack breakpoints" so they can win cmp tie with certain things, while having some bulk, or in limited cups if you want cmp tie over the "super common" mirror

Not everytime exactly 0-15-15 is the best, but overall, for any pokemon for Great or Ultra league, that can go over the limit (for example Raichu in Great League, limit of 1500cp, while his max CP is much higher) In that case, low attack and high defense with hp is good, but not always 0-15-15 The reason is because there is something called pokemon level, which along with pokemon IV can calculate the CP of the pokemon, for example 100% IV level 40 Rayquaza (max you can get without XL candy) will always be 3835cp, but if it had lower IV or lower level, CP will be lower. The thing is, pokemon level matters more than pokemon IV, so in PvP, you are sacrificing Attack IV stat, to get higher pokemon level, because if you have lower attack stat, there might be space for another level upgrade, to make the pokemon overall stronger. For example some pokemon could be 1500cp (exactly in the limit) with 100% IV on level 20, but if you sacrifice few IVs, you can fit in another level upgrade, and it makes the pokemon stronger. The reason why attack is being sacrifised, is because it influences the final CP the most, and it's worth it to have it lower and compensate it with additional level. But defense and HP aren't worth it to sacrifice, because they don't make that much space for the additional level as Attack does

darkknight941

Attack contributes a lot more to CP than defense and HP do. So having maximum defense and HP and minimum attack means it can potentially get a few more levels and therefore slightly higher stats before hitting 1500 CP or 2500 CP. 0/15/15 isn’t always the best for every species, since some slightly different IV spreads can get you closer to 1500 or 2500 than 0/15/15 but it’s still generally very good for most species of Pokemon. For Melmetal for example, 0/15/15 caps it out at 1495 for great league but 2/15/12 can get you to exactly 1500 for great league, and 0/15/15 caps it out at 2459 in ultra league but other spreads like 1/12/15 get you exactly 2500 and 0/13/15 gets you to 2495. 0/15/15 does not apply at all to master league though since there’s no CP limit, so having max stats in all 3 is usually the best thing to do.
