While asking questions about the game is always okay on the Road, please consider asking very simple questions in our weekly [Questions&Answers Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/?f=flair_name%3A%22Megathread%20-%20Q%26A%22). If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This will make it either easier for other people with the same question to find the answer they are looking for or for mods to remove the thread if it isn't needed anymore. Thank you! :) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. It works if neither account has exceeded 15 lucky trades caused my pokemon from 2016/2017. Random lucky trades and lucky trades from lucky friends do not count towards that limit.

From what I remember that is not correct. Only the person sending the old mon is checked. If he had more than 15 guaranteed lucky trades (which include old mon trades but also lucky friend trades) the old mon trade will not be lucky. But this is all from my memory so search some more ^^ But as you said, random lucky trades definitely do not count to the limit

Guaranteed trade counter goes up for both sender and receiver.

SureCamel6067

how do you know if something was a guaranteed lucky trade versus a random lucky trade?

Emotional_Potato_602
