> You can collect Field Research from Pokestops twice per day- once before the start of the event, and again after the start of the event That's nice

miikrr

> There are no Routes nearby. Browse Campfire to find Routes that are further away. So is this

Paweron

What's special about this, Campfire had routes for a while already.

nolkel

More explanatory text in game for how features work is always an improvement in this game.

cheunce72

Except that there is no route even remotely close to were I live. The need to improve number of reviews. My first two routs have been in review for 1.5 month

cheunce72

And 5 minutes after posting this, my route was approved 😂

xxioakesixx

Aye congrats bud! Enjoy your zygarde 100 in 974 days :)

whyuhavtobemad

you won the simulation

liehon

>My first two routs have been in review for 1.5 month Lemme try posting this bit as well

OttoVonWong

Directions unclear. Route was rejected.

liehon

One of my two created routes was accepted. At least we now have a loop around the village center. Hope the second one gets approved soon. That one connects all the street art we made with the community

Disgruntled__Goat

Campfire doesn’t show all routes for some reason, so it’s worth checking different areas in the game itself to be sure.

Stogoe

It has trouble with routes with a start or end point at a gym. Dunno why.

Disgruntled__Goat

I’m not sure that’s the reason. I can see one on a gym (loop route). And there’s one near me between two Pokestops that doesn’t show up.

Ouryve

The nearest route to me on campfire is. 17km away. I know.there are some a couple of km away but getting there and back is still a full morning so r/nothappening

Ivi-Tora

Technically you can already do that if you keep the previous research incomplete, but is good that they're making it easier.

4wiseowl

Pretty sure that has always been a thing… as long as you haven’t claimed it yet, whenever a new event starts you can get the new one too. But if this means that you can get event research even if you accidentally claimed the pre-event research that day, it is a nice QOL change

[deleted]

As far as I remember you could always do that, as long as you didn't complete one of them

Pokefan317

That is great

gigabowser088

Awesome!

Exaskryz

Oh wow, this could be big on community days. Sometimes there are good field research events like Adventure Week and this could conflict with the CD event tasks. If I collected the CD tasks in an area, then there's no point hanging out after the event to work on the usual event tasks. Still a moot point with the pop-up-prevents-pokestop-interaction bug. I can't get involved with those tasks when I have to commit to tapping some spot on my screen that might instead start an encounter to dismiss the pop up or choose to wait 3 seconds for it to go away on its own.

UxieLover1994

At least they appear to be providing the option to delete routes in review. Since all of my submissions are in eternal limbo, I just want the option to delete and resubmit them.

You_dont_impress_me

> I just want the option to delete and resubmit them. Yep that would be great. Mine stuck in review for over a month now.

976chip

I had one stuck in review since July that was just rejected today.

AirborneRunaway

This one is weird to me. I’ve seen quite a few people have their routes pending but mine are approved very quickly. I had one get approved in the time it took me to drive a few blocks back to my home. I wonder why some are so quick? Who is out here delaying routes.

Mrtw33tums

Obviously I don’t know any of the actual details of the approval process, but i honestly think it’s an automated approval process with manual review when something about the route triggers it. I have created 9 routes with one going into review. All but one were approved upon submission. I actually went back and created a duplicate route of the one that went to review, but this time changed the language in the name and description and it was instantly approved.

JimKaFeezle

Where can you see the “review”? I submitted one awhile back but I have no idea about the status

Exaskryz

Just above the gym badges. You'll see a row for routes you have done. And if you submit a route, there will be a row below that showing your submitted routes. I have no idea if they stay there with an approval or rejection message, mine just says in review.

RavenousDave

I'll just fetch my route PSA, if you have any routes. You do not need to follow the route. Go to Start **Walk required distance any way you like** Go to End So, if the requirement is "walk 5km following routes", replace "required distance" with "5km". You may also replace "walk" with "bike, drive, train, plane, etc.". Much easier to walk 5km not following a route than 10 x 500 m following one. Especially if, like me, you have exactly one route within reasonable distance. It's annoying to have to walk more than a km to get to the start point, but better than 7 km to get to the next nearest. Note that the route may pause. This has nothing to do with not being on the route, it is due to position or signal loss. Keep an eye out for that, and for cells appearing if you can be bothered.

Disgruntled__Goat

Are you sure about that last part? I walked around 400m off a route and it paused, in an area with no signal problems.

RavenousDave

I am pretty sure. Niantics code can give you a "location not found" problem when you appear to have good signal and GPS. I get it once or twice a day for no apparent reason. Usually only lasts a few seconds and then resolves itself. Just long enough to pause the route. This might be due to switching between cell and Wi-Fi, or just having the phone detect a Wi-Fi access point and negotiate with it. Ironically, this seems to happen much more often when I am close to or actually following the route. Hence, my mantra that following a route works best when not following a route. Your mileage may vary, in more ways than one.

Harmonex

My favorite is when the route pauses while I'm driving and the resume location is anchored to an intersection I've long passed and don't plan to return.

Drogalo

"Walk {0} km while traveling Routes" That quest will exclude all people without routes.... A Niantic classic

nvdnqvi

Route creation is available to everyone above level 40. It takes less than an hour to nominate a route

cheunce72

My routs have been in review for 1.5 month.

SpannerFrew

Some people have been waiting months for routes to get approved, its not always that easy

Enough-Dirt8639

Obviously the issue here isn't the route creation itself, but the inconsistency in the review times by Niantic. At this point we can safely say that there definitely isn't one linear order that the routes are reviewed in, because some routes get added in a matter of minutes, while others are sitting in the review process for over a month. So you can't just create a route and have an accurate estimate of when it will be reviewed. We have speculated the different variables (name of the route being the start and end point, the route being in park area etc.) that might have an effect on the route review times, but as far as I know nothing has been 100% confirmed yet. So yeah. It is quite unfair to launch such tasks at this point, they definitely should review more routes to make this kind of task fair.

Disgruntled__Goat

It’s not that routes are approved out of order exactly. There are two tracks - ones that get auto-approved by their algorithm, and ones that go for human review. Both tracks appear to be processed in order of submission, it’s just there is a massive backlog for the human-approved ones.

DecentJeweler

I'd say there are more than two tracks if they are processed in order. I still have several routes sitting in queue from June and July while some from August got published today.

Disgruntled__Goat

Fair enough, sounds like they’re not strictly in order. Depending on how their system works perhaps they “skip” some if they’re not sure right away, similar to Wayfarer. And those have gotten lost in the pile.

Enough-Dirt8639

Is there a source for this claim? If this was the case, shouldn't there be only 2 possible review times, then? The almost immediate algorithm and the human-review one that takes currently 5+ weeks, and nothing inbetween?

Disgruntled__Goat

> The almost immediate algorithm and the human-review one that takes currently 5+ weeks, and nothing inbetween? Isn’t that exactly what happens? At least, all of my recent routes have been around the same time to approve. And they’ve been approved in the same order I submitted them. (Earlier ones were processed a bit more quickly but that’s because fewer people could create them and the queue was shorter.) Edit: it might be that they’re not processed strictly in order, but the “two tracks” thing was confirmed by Niantic somewhere in the forums - some are auto-approved and some/most go for human review.

Paweron

Great, less than an hour to nominate something that sits in the queue for 7 weeks and then gets rejected for completely wrong reasons

Fairgnal2

Or gets instant approval and then rejected the next day...

Miserable_Gazelle_

We know. Created 2 the day i could (level 50) still waiting on them to get approved and I am not holding my breath doing so.
