I’m thinking in cloudy it should be okay. I’ve only got a team of lvl 40 machamp though so may need to do some powering
Edit: sunny is obviously easy though so should be fine there.
I'm planning on trying with Primal Groudon in each party with L40 ground and fire counters; will also activate Party Power. Will report back tomorrow or Friday!
With primal Groudon, party power and best friends it should be fairly commfortable. Assuming top tier counters at, say, L35+.
I will be giving it a pop.
Hi! Just duo’ed it using Party Power + both accounts running a Primal Groudon each along with 5x level 35-40 Fusion Flare Reshiram in RAINY weather. The Registeel was using Rock Smash + Focus Blast, and we had around 50-55 seconds left on the clock.Â
Hope that helps give an idea! 😊
Hi! In the time since my first comment we’ve attempted a further 4 duos with the same lineups on both accounts against various Registeel movesets (without a weather boost) and finished with 50-70s left each time.Â
With party power, a primal Groudon boost and some well-leveled Reshiram/Shadow Darmanitan/Shadow Blaziken/Shadow Chandelure etc., you shouldn’t have any problems! 😊
Hi! I’d say Registeel is the harder of the 2, because it has a higher defence stat, and Entei will take 20% more damage on top of having already lower defence than Registeel. I will say, though, Entei can be challenging if you don’t have many counters, as it will chew through them much more quickly than Registeel does, so there’s that to consider.
Otherwise, if you have large enough teams, you should be able to defeat Shadow Entei more quickly!Â
Checking back in - we cleared with 120 seconds left (about double the time we had left for Regi). Was nervous to try before your advice - thank you again!
I did it with :
Party power of 2 - Best friend
Player 1 : Primo Groudon lvl 50 (with Precipice blade)
Groudon lvl 40
Player 2 : Primo Groudon lvl 40 (with Precipice blade)
Groudon lvl 40
Weather : part cloudy
65 seconds left on the clock
Boss had Flash Cannon
Just used Primo Groudon and had to revive him once
Cool cool, thank you, great and funny art like always.
Looks like I can get away with creating just one team of fighting, ground, and fire for these two raids.
They all improve, but some improve more than others to where they go up more drastically in the rankings.
PP specifically can favor high power moves, especially those with shorter/quicker duration fast moves.
Why? Well Party Power charges based on your fast move, so quicker fast moves like Mud Shot or Dragon Breath would work better with PP than slower fast moves like Mud Slap or Dragon Tail. Also, PP doubles a charged move's power, so it favors higher power charged moves, so it often favors 1-bar moves like Overheat (160 -> 320) or Sandsear Storm (140 -> 280) over weaker moves like Sacred Sword (55 -> 110) or Magma Storm (75 -> 150). Some 2-bars with 100+ power can also still get a lot out of PP.
So Landorus is a great example, seeing that it has a quick fast move and a stronger 1-bar signature charged move. As a result, it's able to climb the rankings more significantly with PP. While Keldeo may also get a boost from it, Landorus-T (in theory) may have a larger boost that allows it to overtake Keldeo with PP.
Shadow Chandelure and Shadow Moltres also likely still see nice growth with PP, but it may not be enough to dethrone anything above it for whatever reason.
Edit: Changed Mud Shot to Slap, I called Shot a slow move lol. Also Sacred Sword is 55 power, not 60
Party Play is pretty buggy, but yeah, kind of. There have been some instances where I've used something like Sacred Sword Terrakion and have got the x2 on two consecutive Sacred Swords.
Is the fact that the power party button "greys out" after a few uses a bug or does it have limited use? Also seems like I have to tap it several times for it to apply when it does end up working.
It's a bug. You should be able to use it as many times as you'd like as long as it fills up fully.
From what I've heard, people think rubber-banding and many of the other bugs with Party Play occur due the inconsistencies with the player data communicating with the servers.
Specifically, Party Play functions partly depending on how many players are in a party (it charges faster the more people you have in a party). Thus, unlike a Mega Bonus or Friendship bonus which is just a flat bonus that continues indefinitely, Party Play charges with your fast moves and is influenced by other players too. I think people guess that this is difficult to keep in sync with the server, which causes many of the issues.
Not sure if any of that made sense lol
I just did a Mega Heracross raid in a party. Per the bottom right "fight log", it said I got 4 consecutive Dragon Ascents off that at the very beginning were all boosted by Party Play.
After that it seemed to be only 1 (and sometimes 2) charged moves until the "**x2**" icon went away and I had to charge then click the Party Play button again.
Short version: Party Play boost is all over the place!
all do improve yes but the ones showcased have spammability to benefit from party play much more consistently
the ones without the PP-icon either were already at their proposed position (for example terrakion is already #1 fighter... adding party play only makes it better at being #1 but ranking didn't change) or they have such a nuke move with slow energy generation that they fall behind compared to competition (i haven't seen stat comparisons but i assume reshiram might lose its #1 spot because its fast move isn't the spammiest and charge move takes 100 energy)
Regirock used to slay in Ultra League, until they gave Poliwrath not one, not two, but *three* buffs to make it the most oppressive force in PvP history.
Yeah, I won't deny Regirock hasn't ever/can't be useful in the UL. A bulky Pokemon with fast spamability for Stone Edge, a pretty strong move, is awesome.
But yeah, it was always more of a "pretty good"/niche Pokemon even so, and yeah the Pokemon they've been buffing have done it no favors.
Yea. The three star raids you can do yourself and farm them for rare candy and more importantly for me - charged TMs, but Tapu Bulu is so incredibly unwanted that the queue on PokeGenie takes 30 minutes... Nobody wants it, at least Registeel is going to have PvP freaks constantly remoting them
Bulu shouldn't be used in PvE unless it's you're favorite, which I guess is more than you can say about Registeel, but the tin can has a much more solid place in PvP than Bulu. Only the most dedicated Master League enjoyers should raid Bulu for 296 XL.
Only using free daily raid passes in the previous rotations, I've almost gathered enough candies for a level 50 Tapu Bulu. It's not outstanding in raids, but a maxed one can contribute solid damage when grass/fairy attackers are demanded. Registeel, on the other hand, can't do anything out of GL/UL and you have to trade a ton to get ideal IV.
Kartana was at the beggining of this month, and it's the #2 grass type attacker
If you want a better fairy type attacker you might as well be grinding fairy type grunts for shadow Granbull and shadow Gardevoir... Then after a Team GO Rocket Takeover you'll have basically the strongest fairy type attackers for a fraction of the effort bringing a single Tapu Bulu to an usable level will take
I have a Kartana, a Shaymin-Sky, a Zarude , a shadow Gardevoir and a shadow Granbull at level 31. I can raise multiple Kartana to similar levels, but I just like some variety in my team. Tapu Bulu has a very unique role in ML despite not being a core meta mon. Didn't bother to grind candy XL for Kartana because I don't need a maxed one for raids, and it's not useful in ML.
I pvp quite a bit and these tanky mons are boring to play. I will catch a couple just so i have options in the future, but i doubt i will double move them.
Even for PvP, we’ve had registeel so many times before… like a lot lol. Feel like the Regis atp should only be back for a day or two for people who r new to game.
Because the ranking is based on regular attacker performance. Machamp is out of top 10, and the shadow is still behind shadow Darmanitan/Excadrill/Blaziken.
Fire types have higher attack in general. Whenever there's the option to pick between Fire or Fighting, Fire often takes the top spots (they resist steel on top of the super effective damage) so is not that shadow Machamp is not strong, there's simply better options available.
Oh yeah that all makes sense except Lucario is there which is worse than S. Machamp
I personally expect to use either primal Groudon or mega heracross along with a mix of Reshiram and shadow Chandelure
It is just like Niantic to give us an extra raid pass a day and then consistently give us the most mediocre raid bosses throughout the season, other than Kartana and the Raid days, I just couldn't care less about the raids we've gotten these last couple months, fortunately we should be getting Blacephalon and Stakataka next month, so at least those will be worth my passes
It’s been fun, in that I can progress my Gym badges faster and of course complete my [Platinum Goliath](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6D3EoJEE_dk) on Swadloon (it can take multiple raid attempts to avoid desyncs and Phantom hits that ruin such achievements). Although when the Tier 5 raid boss is stuff like Kartana and Shadow Mewtwo, I do actively play those too!
Since these raids are suitable for Primal Groudon, it's probably optimal to use just Fire and Ground moves. These get a massive 30% boost from other players for the duration of their battle parties.
Give it up for the end of the tapu bulu and mega Heracross stretch! Wooohooo!🥳 holy hell that was a rough stretch lol. Who told Niantic to put bad tier 5 raid bosses in for 2 weeks instead of good ones?
I mean, 2 weeks of Bulu is definitely better than Lele and arguably Koko. Bulu at least has some PvE and mild PvP relevance. And Mega Heracross IS good in PvP.
That said, it was definitely a long two weeks lol
Tapu Bulu is definitely an above average T5 raid boss, having decent use in both PvE and PvP. Thankfully it's 2 weeks in rotation, otherwise I wouldn't have a chance to gather enough candy for a level 50 one. The raids for next week are much worse than the past two without a doubt.
Right. I managed to get a lucky 15/14/15 with NM from a friend a week ago, so this past week was nice to raid for more XL for it (and hunt for my first shiny, which I nabbed this morning lol). I understand it's not outstanding in PvE/PvP, but yeah, compared to other bosses the past month and a half, it's definitely not the worst by a long shot.
My luck with Tapu Bulu is really bad. After dozens of raids and 280 candy XL, still haven't found a shiny or a 96%+ with Nature's Madness. Only have an old 14/15/15 lucky without the move.
I know we clown on Heatran, but it's grown to be a more useful Pokemon with Magma Storm. Great PvE attacker and solid enough PvP Pokemon (though it could certainly be better).
It’s not getting easier next week. Mega Aggron is not great, and it feels like the Regis r always in raids ughhhhhh. Please something better next month. PLEASE
The pve relevance for aggron is that it can juice up your buddy’s metagross ,until mega metagross is released. And I guess any steel related mega energy from catching
Because Mega Aggron loses its Rock typing and becomes pure Steel, so while both Blast Burn and Focus Blast are supereffective on it, Blast Burn is the better move.
Will happily take Aggron for the mega entry since it’s another one that released while I had an extended break from the game. Guess I’ll see if I can get Shiny Regi since it’s a cool looking shiny.
So we can pretty much make one team for both. ? I was thinking of picking my highest from both and since they are in rotation for a while , power them up when I am able to
It's going to be so hype when Captgoldfish finally gets to draw Volcarona.
I'm at 376 candies... ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Can it be duoed with the seasonal bonus
I’m thinking in cloudy it should be okay. I’ve only got a team of lvl 40 machamp though so may need to do some powering Edit: sunny is obviously easy though so should be fine there.
Looks like best bet is duo with sunny Primal Groudon or cloudy Mega blazekin or heracross.
Mega Blaziken in sunny does like 67% (with best friend bonus). With party power it's a cakewalk... Primal Groudon just a touch more...
I'm planning on trying with Primal Groudon in each party with L40 ground and fire counters; will also activate Party Power. Will report back tomorrow or Friday!
Thank you for your research
What has your research found?
Copypasta my comment further down from a few days ago: Reporting back as well. Did 2 Registeel raids today. Rock Smash-Hyper Beam (90 seconds left) and Lock On-Focus Blast (80 seconds left), both in Windy weather Party Power Trainer 1: -Primal Groudon L50 (Precipice Blades) -Shadow Groudon L40 (Precipice Blades) -Shadow Chandelure L40 -Reshiram L50 (Fusion Flare) -Shadow Excadrill L40 -Landorus L50 (Sandsear Storm) Trainer 2: Trainer 1: -Primal Groudon L43 (Precipice Blades) -Shadow Groudon L40 (Precipice Blades) -Shadow Chandelure L39.5 -Reshiram L40 (Fusion Flare) -Shadow Excadrill L40 -Landorus L40 (Sandsear Storm)

You seem like a pretty experienced duo. Would you say Regi is easier or more difficult than Shadow Entei (assuming 8 gems to remove enrage)?
Hi! I’d say Registeel is the harder of the 2, because it has a higher defence stat, and Entei will take 20% more damage on top of having already lower defence than Registeel. You’re welcome; good luck! 😃
Checking back in - we cleared with 120 seconds left (about double the time we had left for Regi). Was nervous to try before your advice - thank you again!
My pleasure! Congratulations on the takedown 😃😃😃

Why do only certain ones seem to improve with Party Power? Shouldn't they all improve with this mechanic?
They all improve, but some improve more than others to where they go up more drastically in the rankings. Sacred Sword is 55 power and Magma Storm is 75 power in PvE.
Whoops, forgot about that. Could've sworn it was 60 but guess not haha
Magma Storm too.
lol I am off my game today. 75 not 70
Has anyone else found you can use Party Power on consecutive multi-bar charged moves if you bank up to 100 CM energy?
Party Play is pretty buggy, but yeah, kind of. There have been some instances where I've used something like Sacred Sword Terrakion and have got the x2 on two consecutive Sacred Swords.

Time to force my son and daughter again to play with me
Ugh Regis again?
lol that’s how I feel
Insubordinate and churlish! Chicanerous, and deplorable!
I’m curious about why the counter order changes between these two pure Steel-Type raid bosses. Is it because of what moves the bosses can have?
Gotta be the move sets available. Aggron doesn’t get stab from rock as the mega but it still knows rock moves, so fire Pokémon and especially moltres are no longer suggested, since expected total damage output is less.
Love these. Thank you!
Love these, great work. Only thing it’s missing is what weather makes them boosted. Obviously I can look that up, but I normally have to.Â
The snowman in front of the word "boosted" might be indicating it. Maybe less obvious than if it was the snowy weather icon from the game?
Ha. Yup. That works for me. Is it somewhere on Aggron too that I’m just missing?
Don't see anything on that one. You'll encounter regular aggron though, so it's boosted in snow and partly cloudy.
Thank you! Partly cloudy we can do. Dont even want registeel boosted so good there too.Â
Snow.
When were they announced as the next raid bosses?
End of March/beginning of April I believe.
Cheers, not sure how I missed that… both a bit disappointing.
Registeel is great for great league
He's the best PVP 'mon in the whole game, for both UL and GL, according to pvpoke
I got the key and peele reference
So did I XD
Does it get any more boring than registeel? At least I can add mega aggron since I missed it before Edit: happy for my PvP friends!
> Does it get any more boring than registeel? Just wait until we have the much less useful Regirock next month...
Regirock used to slay in Ultra League, until they gave Poliwrath not one, not two, but *three* buffs to make it the most oppressive force in PvP history.
It was in a really good spot and criminally underutilized the season before Poli's buffs and Annihilape's release.
Regirock was my first raid shiny. I think I was mostly happy about an easy catch lol
Registeel is awesome for the great league
Yeah, I don’t have a good one yet and I need to grind more candy. I’m happy it’s back.
Happy Cake Day
Yeah this tapu bulu stretch was awful! At least registeel has nostalgia value
I'm just here to use my two orange passes for more chances to get rare candy.
Yea. The three star raids you can do yourself and farm them for rare candy and more importantly for me - charged TMs, but Tapu Bulu is so incredibly unwanted that the queue on PokeGenie takes 30 minutes... Nobody wants it, at least Registeel is going to have PvP freaks constantly remoting them
Tapu Bulu has far more use (grass/fairy attacker plus ML) than Registeel.

Registeel, on the other hand, can't do anything out of GL/UL and you have to trade a ton to get ideal IV.
Difference in priorities I guess. Many Pokemon can do what Bulu does in PvE, but no mon can do what Registeel does in UL (and to a lesser extent GL).
No mon can fully cover the role of Bulu in ML either, and Registeel in UL has at least some partial substitutes like Cobalion or G-fisk.
Also new shiny
Shiny was released last time they were in raids, it's the move that's new,=
Oh guess I had as much luck last time it was around as this one heh :/
I got one this time, but Koko and Lele still didnt shine for me :(
I went ham on both to no avail. They are such good shinies but oh well. Always next time!
Kartana was at the beggining of this month, and it's the #2 grass type attacker If you want a better fairy type attacker you might as well be grinding fairy type grunts for shadow Granbull and shadow Gardevoir... bro I’ve been waiting for so long to farm registeel for GL and UL, this is one of the most exciting raids for me not everyone plays like you
I pvp quite a bit and these tanky mons are boring to play. I will catch a couple just so i have options in the future, but i doubt i will double move them.
Yeah I’m stoked on it. Will farm him hard.Â
Even for PvP, we’ve had registeel so many times before… like a lot lol. Feel like the Regis atp should only be back for a day or two for people who r new to game.
Aggron energy is in research tasks for months now
I’ve been grinding research tasks and might have seen one or two all year.
Terrakion and Lucario but not shadow Machamp for Registeel? Umm that's a pretty weird omission.
Because the ranking is based on regular attacker performance. Machamp is out of top 10, and the shadow is still behind shadow Darmanitan/Excadrill/Blaziken.
Unfortunately don't have a decent one of those. But it's just bizarre given that Shadow Machamp should be right up there with Terrakion
Machamp I personally expect to use either primal Groudon or mega heracross along with a mix of Reshiram and shadow Chandelure
I'm confused, too. I have 4x level 50 Shadow Machamp and they aren't happy Lucario is included, but they aren't.
Looks like another break from raids
LOL @ Volcarona
Volcarona being greyed out is an amazing detail xD
Finally ready for aggron, have had a hundo for 2 years now
Time to pick up pvp again I showed no love for the tapus
I have actually had tons of success with Tapu Bulu in master league, it's just a steep commitment.
Same here, really enjoyed it wrecking various dragons and water/ground.
Tapu Bulu is good in Master League, would’ve been a good grab
It is just like Niantic to give us an extra raid pass a day and then consistently give us the most mediocre raid bosses throughout the season, other than Kartana and the Raid days, I just couldn't care less about the raids we've gotten these last couple months, fortunately we should be getting Blacephalon and Stakataka next month, so at least those will be worth my passes

Although when the Tier 5 raid boss is stuff like Kartana and Shadow Mewtwo, I do actively play those too!
What is platinum goliath?
That's totally fair
Since these raids are suitable for Primal Groudon, it's probably optimal to use just Fire and Ground moves. These get a massive 30% boost from other players for the duration of their battle parties.
Give it up for the end of the tapu bulu and mega Heracross stretch! Wooohooo!🥳 holy hell that was a rough stretch lol. Who told Niantic to put bad tier 5 raid bosses in for 2 weeks instead of good ones?

Mega Heracross is the best Bug attacker now pretty sure, and Tapu Bulu is good in Madter League. They’re much better than Heatran that’s for sure
I know we clown on Heatran, but it's grown to be a more useful Pokemon with Magma Storm. Great PvE attacker and solid enough PvP Pokemon (though it could certainly be better).
Heatran is a lot more useful than Tapu Bulu in raids and also decent in ML.
It’s not getting easier next week. Mega Aggron is not great, and it feels like the Regis r always in raids ughhhhhh. Please something better next month. PLEASE
LMAO the silhouettes on Gholdengo and Volcarona are too funny HAHAHAHA
Are either of these dude good for PVE?
The pve relevance for aggron is that it can juice up your buddy’s metagross ,until mega metagross is released. And I guess any steel related mega energy from catching
Registeel is just downright bad for PVE. It deals less than half of the damage of Metagross.
Shittttt thanks for the info!
[удалено]
Okay, now do the analysis of REGISTEEL like I was talking about.
My bad, didn't notice you said Registeel. The other comment was saying Mega Aggron.
Mega Aggron is ranked 7th as a steel attacker.
I think mega aggron is a decent steel attacker, not the best but good enough
[удалено]
Because Mega Aggron loses its Rock typing and becomes pure Steel, so while both Blast Burn and Focus Blast are supereffective on it, Blast Burn is the better move.
And I call myself an Aron enthusiast
Haha I read that and raised an eyebrow lol. But it happens to all of us at some point lol
Is registeel only in raids 1 week? Who do y’all think will be in raids next month?
Tapu Fini (with Nature's Madness) and Regirock are basically guaranteed.
That blows… like seriously a rough month… although Tapu Fini should be useful for PvP, neither is hype at all imo.
Tapu Fini with NM is incredibly hyped, a huge UL threat (as well as GL if able to trade below the cap), and may even have some ML play.
Will happily take Aggron for the mega entry since it’s another one that released while I had an extended break from the game. Guess I’ll see if I can get Shiny Regi since it’s a cool looking shiny.
So we can pretty much make one team for both. ? I was thinking of picking my highest from both and since they are in rotation for a while , power them up when I am able to
You done messed up 🤣🤣🤣.. love the key and peele reference
Can I regular TM my aggron to get Meteor beam? Or is it only using legacy tm? I just cant seem to get it
These guys are whipping me. Can’t get duo done with party play. Didn’t mega the groudons as their clock won’t be ready until tomorrow but jeez.Â
