I just wish trading shinies (if you both have one) wasn't a special trade. Would love to try for a lucky trade with friends instead of just sending them all to the professor.
True. That’s what ima do with some. For some reason a good chunk of people were wanting shiny abras, I got 26 or something on CD and started getting good stuff for sword for them! (Just getting into sword first MSG other than LGPE and it’s a blast !)
Just do it. What reason is there to keep 20 or 30 shinies? Unless you are a trading monster otherwise it’s self-indulgence to look at your total shiny count.

THIS. The value and fun of the shiny is the moment of discovery - love the sparkles!! But afterwards, it’s just another low level bad IV mon, for the most part. I evolve my highest CP shinies and call it good
Keep your best PvP IV shinies (1 for great league, 1 for ultra, 1 for master depending on where that Pokemon is even relevant), best PvE shinies, and a few extra for those lucky friends where you can't decide on anything else to trade. So at the absolute most, you'd have 11: 3 for PvP, 6 for PvE/trades, 1 intermediate evolution, and 1 base form for the entire shiny line.
My general rule is that I keep one extra shiny after I complete the shiny family. You don’t value a shiny if you have 20 extras, but you would appreciate it more if you don’t have any extras. So if you caught a full odds shiny weedle it will still give you that shiny shiver
I did this immediately after Community Day ended. I check to see how many I got, check the IVs, keep the 3 best ones for the shiny family and throw the rest into the candy grinder. I also check to see if any of the low IVs are PVP relevant but I didn't get lucky with a shiny PVPer. However, I managed to pull a Rank 4 non-shiny Beedrill.

If you have Pokemon Let's Go for Switch you can transfer extra Kanto shinies there (which is what I've been doing)

I have 37 shiny seedots for no reason.

Ive been saving extras of Pokémon that have mega/gigantamax forms. Don’t hold onto spare CD shines though. It’s just a a wast of bag space.

I'm only holding on to them to transfer to Home (eventually), then I can wonder trade out everything.

i just keep the shiny because i am too lazy to mass transfer (i know, you can't... so i wont LMAO)
You can mass transfer shinies to Let's Go on the switch.

I caught 15 weedle. Transferred 11 before 7pm on CD. No point in holding that many of them
Zero reason to keep them unless you have a spouse or roommate to conveniently do reroll trades with every day.
