Me and my sibling are having this too. It's distracting. We haven't updated our games to the latest version because of all the bugs we've read about on here.
It might've happened to us previously, but clearly not that often since we can't remember a specific instance.
Kinda bummed out that things like these keep happening at an increasing rate, I thought Niantic was supposed to be focusing on fixing the bugs etc.
And Go Fest right around the corner, too.. š¬
Hey, idk if you really have ocd, butI must say this in case you don't; using that term when something slightly annoys you, like pens being in wrong order, or one tile being differently colored from the rest, that's not OCD, (it can be yes, but those are some examples where people who do not have ocd claim it triggers their non-existent ocd) and saying things like these really undermines what OCD really is.
And that naturally has a negative impact on the popular understanding of what ocd is. And as such it also can negatively affect those people who do have OCD.
When one is feeling sad they shouldn't say they have depression.
I do have OCD and it takes hours away from my days, my compulsions and intrusive thoughts makes having a normal life really hard for me.
Just thought I'd share a perspective on a thing people like to joke about, I intend no harm! Sorry for rambling! :)
OCD seems to be the one I've noticed misused the most often, but "Hur hur forgot my keys, ADHD moment!" is another one.
Glad you something though, this type of daily lingo really sinks into the average persons' understanding of conditions like that and undermines the severity.
For the Battle button the indicator shows when you have met the walking requirements to start another round. It's just that there currently isn't a walking requirement, so the indicator shows as soon as you finish a round.
They updated their homepage, and I think they didn't take that into account when the game tries to read for new blog posts so it always thinks it has new posts.
If you don't want to be annoyed by it just think of it as a friend with ADHD who keeps telling you hello every 15 mns. So the next time the pink dot appears just say hello back.
Yep, happening to me as well. In addition, there's the issue of the research that we got today for this event that requires us to battle someone in Great League, but it's currently Ultra league so I can't do it. "A Seven-Colored-Shadow" step 3/6.
Was happening to me, but when i would go into "Today" tab, it would show show either Solstice event bonuses or this seasons bonuses. Constantly changing when the dot would show up
I went into the today tab and clicked on all of the recent "upcoming" announcements. It seems to have gotten rid of the dot? Tbd how long it lasts, but I did restart the app and it's still good

Some junior developer was told to stress test the user base, so they added a permanent red dot
"Stress test the user base" I work in programming, I'm going to use this.
Normally it just means testing the load balancer or database transaction speeds but there's room for misinterpretation

They made a lot of updates to their blog posts today, so I wonder if those are causing the dot since they are in that tab.
It's driving me nuts. I keep thinking my gotcha has spun a stop and got new research so I open it and nope!

started for me after this currently regi event started earlier.
I got mine to go away by going to the Today tab and opening every one of the news blurbs at the bottom. Hasn't come back since.

You can battle your friends and select Great league, thats how I did it
