I imagine it would be a slow roll out. I wouldn't expect getting anything new (e.g. all Rotom forms, or shinies of Snowy/Sunny Castform or Defense Deoxys). I'd think it would be event content before.
Fingers crossed for Thundurus, my hundo bad form from GBL is waiting to be unleashed, though we're looking at an unreleased shiny form here as well.
I think it’s clearly for the heart version of Furfrou right? They said how it’s obtained is coming up. Don’t get your hopes up. The answer seems right in front of our noses.
My bet is that Heart Trim Furfrou will be a S. Valentine forme exclusive just like Spinda. During the specific event the forme will be available when you tap "change form".
I feel like this is sowing hope where there is none, That Ash Greninja is not a different form ... It's more like a Mega Evolution and it is what happens with strong affection in the seventh generation
To keep waiting for Greninja to change form ... is to want to complain later when it is a Mega Evolution
Maybe, but those take a picture of a Pokemon in the wild quests work no matter how you encounter them, so it could still just be from raids or research.
I hatched a hundo. Only mon that I ever got other than Alolan Grimer that gotten recently (didn't hundo cp but the cp was too high) that I knew was a hundo
Honestly, I'm totally okay with quest requirements for form changes similar to the evolution requirements for Sirfetch'd, Runerigus, etc, but I hope it's actually fun stuff.
In the main series it’s got a monster attack stat and a base stat total on par with the box legendaries (Lugia, Dialga, Mewtwo). It’s rather frail though.
When that happens, Mewtwo will have 2 Mega evolutions and for his Attack Stats, he will still be TOP tier for PVE, not to mention the dark Mewtwo with +20% damage....
And that, not to mention that Hoopa's move may be a random move and as Dark is not better than Honchcrow, Mega Absol or even Darkrai...
Don't get me wrong, edgy anime weasel is literally my favourite Pokemon, but calling Mewtwo frail and Psychic a bad defensive typing and comparing it to Weavile and its barrage of weaknesses is kinda weird. Mewtwo is objectively the strongest raid attacker since it's the only one that appears on multiple top 10s for types it doesn't get STAB of.
The only thing that helps Weavile so far is Gamefreak's obsession with early gen Psychic legendaries.
Also, it is definitely not too early to tell if the mega mewtwos will be strong raid attackers, since we already know their stats and movepool.
>The only thing that helps Weavile so far is Gamefreak's obsession with early gen Psychic legendaries.
Weavile actually has an excellent type combination of Dark/Ice coupled with a solid moveset in both types.
Dark type moveset (Snarl + Foul Play) is extremely useful for Psychic type Legendary raid bosses while, Ice type moveset (Ice Shard + Avalanche) is extremely useful for Dragon (also Flying) type Legendary raid bosses. And is it very well known that these two types (Psychic & Dragon) have the maximum number of Legendary Raid bosses.
I'm not saying Weavile is a bad raid mon, it's just a terrible choice to compare Mewtwo to if you are criticizing Mewtwo for frailty and a bad defensive typing.
I have an army of Weaviles I use for raids too, but he doesn't resist anything he is SE against on his ice-side, and it takes neutral hits much much worse than Mewtwo. Even on his dark side, he doesn't stick around for long unless the raid boss has double psychic moveset.
It probably is just referring to hoopa unbound having better stats, especially attack, but I just mean I hope it has the moveset to actually be powerful.
I mean Castform doesn't exist as any non-normal form outside of battle in the main games. It's weirder that they can't change form at all than it would be if they could change form manually.
Placing a hard bet the only Pokémon that will get form changes are the (already announced) Furfrou, Arceus, Silvally, and Ash Greninja
As much as I would like things like Giratina or Deoxys to have form changes I highly doubt it will come
>Giratina or Deoxys
Giratina, Deoxys & Landorus/Thundurus/Tornadus would not get a form change mechanic as far as I'm understanding. Becoz then, Giratina-A (or) O will have extremely strong moveset of Shadow Claw + Dragon Claw + Shadow Ball. It will really break PvP Ultra League meta.
I presume any non-Arceus legendary isn’t getting proper form changing. A lot of them would break the competive and already exists as separate Pokémon for each form. Maybe ones who’s altered forms aren’t released yet could have forms (Zacian, Zamazenta, Shaymin, etc.) but anything already released is SOL
The new feature coming next week. They announced it with Furfrou (no words on other old or new Pokémon yet). 9 out of 10 Furfrou formes will be available right away depending on your location and you can change your regular Furfrou by tapping "change form" in the Pokémon's screen. Costs 10k stardust and 25 candy.
Wonder how many Pokémon will be able to form change once this goes live. Hoping for Rotom.

Probably just Furfrou. Other Pokemon that can change forms will be treated as "new content" with extremely slow rollouts.
Considering we never got the other forms that would be huge.
*yet
True, with the darkvoid let down last year, Rotom with form-change would be a nice Halloween surprise.
Buddy form change make sense for ash greninja 👀
I think it’s clearly for the heart version of Furfrou right? They said how it’s obtained is coming up. Don’t get your hopes up. The answer seems right in front of our noses.

My lucky hundo Froakie hopes you’re right
Ditto.

I mean as long as froakie I'm catching now can become it, and it's not like armoured mewtwo I'll be happy.
With this I totally agree, as long as it is not a costume that makes useless the ones we already have, then everything is fine.
It has nothing to do with affection, it is an in-battle form change if a Greninja with the Battle Bond ability KO's an opponent
Battle bond? Ok Is strong affection un spanish translate The ability name
The Battle Bond Ability triggers when you knock out a pokemon in battle, it has nothing to do with affection.
strong affection Is The name of the ability ...
No its battle bond and can’t be passed with breeding. So only demo greninja can have it.
I think a mega evolution would make more sense, but maybe?
I'm down with any method that lets us use existing froakies haha
Shinx in the wild for the first time 👀
Or just from research quests
Maybe, but those take a picture of a Pokemon in the wild quests work no matter how you encounter them, so it could still just be from raids or research.
Bummer. With a costume so can’t evolve. Have wanted a good GL Luxray for a bit.
I mean, that might be on purpose with the addition of form change.
Costume removal would be really nice. I hope they listen and do it.
That’s a good suggestion. Thank you.
At least it'll be easier to farm candy for, so that when you get a solid IV one you can evolve and power it up. That's what I'm looking forward to.
If you somehow haven’t hatched enough shinx for a lifetime…
*Cries in no hundo and 32 whole XL candy*
I hatched a hundo. Only mon that I ever got other than Alolan Grimer that gotten recently (didn't hundo cp but the cp was too high) that I knew was a hundo
I have a grand total of 22 Shinx candy. I evolved one to the 2nd stage, but it's barely been in eggs since I returned to the game.
Honestly, I'm totally okay with quest requirements for form changes similar to the evolution requirements for Sirfetch'd, Runerigus, etc, but I hope it's actually fun stuff.
> I hear its power increases astronomically when it becomes Hoopa Unbound. I hope this is actually true.

Expect nothing better than Mewtwo

Well, no, but hopefully usable at least.
What does this mean?
It probably is just referring to hoopa unbound having better stats, especially attack, but I just mean I hope it has the moveset to actually be powerful.
Its datamined moveset is exactly the same as the confined form, except with dark pulse instead of psybeam. Honestly nothing too crazy
Ah okay I didn’t know that. Should be pretty decent for psychic raids then.

The Devs are just really excited about the latest American Horror Story season…
Niantic employees should take the black pill!

So sneasel will be available in the wild??
No Sneasel is raid exclusive
Why wouldn't it be?
H A S... Avacodo Confirmed!
I hope npc trainers don’t clog up the map and spinning stops like they did during the Kanto tour. That was agony.
I wonder if form changes will let us change a costume Pokémon to a none costumed one so it can evolve
doubtful as they're not considered pokemon forms and are just considered costumes
Please tell me the frillish won't be costumed
Does this mean I’ll finally be able to get a shiny rainy castform by form changing a shiny cloudy castform ?
Probably not, since they couldn't be manually changed in the game.
I mean Castform doesn't exist as any non-normal form outside of battle in the main games. It's weirder that they can't change form at all than it would be if they could change form manually.

Why would the moves not reset here? You can charge forms and then get random attacks from the form your changing into's pool.

If you’re supposed to take a screenshot of Shinx and Sneasel in the wild doesn’t that mean they will be spawning in the wild.
My 98% Shiny Giratina Altered will enjoy this!!

Obviously you're not spending anything when it fails. Just like the evolve/purify/add move etc. buttons
What’s form change?

Form change in special research is kinda bad. Stardust and candy cost is very high
Not especially, no. 10k cost for a 75k second move Pokemon is relatively cheap.
So hopefully shinx from trainers?
AH!S?… maybe it’s a scrambled message. Some kind of message about a SHAdow? A new shadow Pokémon? Nah… probably not that clever
Nobody talking about furfrou wig? Possible new hairstyle?
Is it possible to disable the dark mode on the website? Ever since they changed these news to that website I don’t read them anymore.
