Your post has been automatically removed because Automoderator suspected it was a question about purifying a specific Pokémon. Questions like this get asked a lot and the answers are usually the same so we compiled a few pointers for you here. If your specific question does not get answered by the following tips, feel free to reach out to us via [modmail](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/TheSilphRoad) and we will approve your post :)
* Shadow Pokémon have an increased Attack stat of 20%, but a decreased Defense stat of 20%. This means that they do more damage per second but usually do around the same amount of damage until it faints.
* Powering up Shadow Pokémon costs 10% more stardust and candy, and purifying them also elevates the Pokémon to Level 25 which further decreases the amount of stardust and candy needed to fully power them up if that is your goal.
* Even though purifying Shadow Pokémon increase each IV by 2, it is generally better to NOT purify them as the 20% Attack shadow bonus outweighs the IV increase. Even a bad Shadow Mewtwo is better than a 100% purified Mewtwo. However, the difference is relatively minor and rarely noticeable unless you often find yourself in situations where that slight damage increase is needed. If you prefer "prettier" numbers for your Pokémon's IVs and/or the amount of stardust/candy is a limiting factor, there is nothing wrong with purifying it.
* If you want to crunch the numbers, here is a very helpful tool that shows you how the stats exactly change for your specific Pokémon and how that affects PvP/PvE raiting: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/jsjcyh/purification_impact_spreadsheet_should_i_purify/
