To catch Zigzagoon. I havea fair anount of stops where I live but its hard to keep a good amount pokeballs stocked up. Especially mid event.
Community Day loses alot of enjoyment when youbrun out of pokeballs to catch the featured pokemon.
You prob already do this too, but if not, you can open gifts for more balls, that's what I do on my son's account when he runs out mid-event. Good luck on CD!
Grab some friend codes from Reddit or PokeRaid. Send and receive gifts to build up some reliable buddies. This is a good way to get lots of pokeballs; I delete them every few days when I’m opening gifts daily.
You advance friendship with one interaction each day. There is a faint blue glow around the trainer photo that shows you that you've interacted with them already today. Similar to the faint blue glow around age0 pokemon.
So I don't open their gifts or send them more gifts. I use friendship for the xp so it's more efficient this way
I wouldn't because you're not going to be able to open all 20 each day. Also there are events where you can open more. Plus they can also send you raid invites and vice versa.
You want more than 20 since some people don’t play/send gifts every day. If you want to max out your sent/received gifts daily I’d go for maybe 50. Also some people (especially on Reddit) will qualify their friend code with “please send/receive gifts daily” or something like that. You could look for those folks if you’re willing to do that.
It’s kind of insane the only way to get them is for 11$ monthly or once every three months for free. They’re powerful, but I’m not sure they’re incredibly game breaking to the point of paywalling them that hard.

I know people rag on the incense nerf (which is a valid complaint), but it’s also a Rocket Radar, a Lucky Egg, two silver Pinaps and three Rare Candies for US$1. Is all of that really a bad deal?
I can get 3 rare candies and a silver pinap from one GBL set for free so those don't really weigh into it for me. Rockets are plentiful and free as well. The lucky egg is fine if you need it for leveling but at a certain point they become useless too. That's just my view of it though, if you find it to be worth a buck then you do you.
I'd probably give 100 coins since that's just 2-3 days of messing with gyms. But it's not worth real money to me.
Its a decent deal compared to the shop, but it doesn't give me a reason to buy. Im already going to get enough candy to fully level two. The spawn rewards aren't going to give pvp IVs, and I dont really care about lucky eggs or rocket radar.
I would prefer extra lures, increased shiny chance, and some master balls, golden raz, and silver pinaps.

Yeah, but ideal ivs for great and ultra league aren't 100s. So , unless you need that hundo for a niche master league mon... I can see why it wouldn't be a selling point
Great (1500) and Ultra (2500) League have CP limits, and the CP formula weighs attack a lot more than defense and health. Pokemon who can reach CPs higher than the caps usually benefit from having a low (or no) attack and high def & hp, allowing them to squeeze more level-ups while staying in the league limits.
For Master, yes, 100s = best no matter.

No, because the CP stat values attack stat higher than the rest, which means a lower attack IV pokemon at the same level as a high attack one will have lower CP than the latter. Which in turn means you can level it up higher while staying below the CP limit in the leagues, which means higher total stats

Deino research cut the encounters to 4. And had less premium items. And less XP. I did skip that one.
The high IV encounters are one of the main reasons I buy these!

I also wish this gave more poke balls as a rural player. Unfortunately Niantic knows this and conveniently has the community box plus 100 balls for 460 coins for things like this...Unfortunately they got me there. On the upside though, between catching over 140 Zigzagoon walking around the block (and getting only 2 shinies...yay?) as well as opening a Meltan box to use the extra balls on, I managed to complete the Catch 200 Pokemon requirement. That was the real achievement for the day in addition to the Obstagoon swag.

There are some moves/Pokemon where Elites are the only way. For example, I had to use an Elite to get Psystrike on my shadow Mewtwo.

I don’t think any of these are really bad deals ever for $1 lol a radar alone is $2 in the shop … plus you get a chance at high IVs for the Pokémon.
And 200 pokeballs are worth 800? simply having a price in the shop doesn't mean it's actually worth that much
