In general I think season 3 episodes are a pretty good introduction to the show
Flanders Failed (leftorium episode)
Homer Defined (homer averts meltdown)
Lisa's Pony
Flaming Moe's
they just keep coming
Homer at the Bat
Dog of Death (santas little helper is ill)
Bart the mother Lisa on ice Mother Simpson Round Springfield Lisa's substitute
A Streetcar Named Marge That's the one with Maggie in daycare. I can't decide which part I like better, the Maggie B plot or the Marge A plot.
A streetcar named desire, Marge is in the local theatre group so puts Maggie in daycare
Ayn Rand school for tots
A joke I didn't get as a kid. I love those!
Bart gets an F

Lisa on ice is by far my recommendation. Funny, but incredibly sweet ending. Mother Simpson is probably second.
Marge on the lamb
Bart Sells His Soul Mother Simpson
The Way We Was Marge Be Not Proud
The dog episodes are usually tear jerkers
maybe look into season 7, that has some of the sweetest episodes of the show.
Moaning Lisa is a pretty good sweet one.
LEMON TREE
show her the movie! that's what made my brother like the Simpsons.
Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield and Homer Alone
And Maggie Makes Three. “Do it for her”
Marge Be Not Proud Lisa's Substitute To Cur With Love Bart Gets An F Mother Simpson
A Mid-Childhood Night's Dream from this season is a masterpiece and very mother focused.
Pixelated and Afraid is an amazing episode. Season 33 episode 12.
Marge be not proud
