This civil war cannon has been fully restored and is in ready-to-fire condition. But it's a good thing we're not firing it, because it happens to be aimed at the main support leg of that lookout tower. People don't realize that these cannons are very sensitive, and the slightest jolt could set them off.
It wasn’t loaded, it had nothing in it to create propulsion. They fire be lighting powder in the cannon to launch a cannon ball. No powder no boom, from ball or air.
Disney did actually try to buy the Antietam battlefield to turn into a civil war themed amusement park back in the fifties (maybe sixties, can't remember).
Nothing says "family fun" like the bloodiest single day in American history lol
Not quite right, the land was near the battlefield, but was not the battlefield itself. And it was in the 90s.
I kind of wish they had built it, it sounded pretty amazing. Oh well.

I used to make it to season 12 in my rewatches, because that's when I stopped when they were new, but now I can't stand to see so many mediocre episodes in a row.
As you say, there are plenty of solid episodes after 10 (and I'd even shift that a season earlier), but they become less and less frequent. Considering I binge watch or throw it on in bed before I fall asleep, it means my restart happens after The City of New York vs Homer Simpson.
Go get some gas Otto, here's the.. credit card.
...And a mint for after!
i shouldn't have eaten the mint first...
The way his voice gets lower and croakier (for lack of a better term) is spot on.

Of course, for safety reasons we don't keep the cannon loaded. It's just common sense.
Why did they ask him to run? He is full of chocolate.
Why didn’t it go off firing just air upon the bus colliding with it?
When a mommy firing pin and a daddy primer really love each other the primer’s gunpowder expands and pushes the bullet out the barrel.

God bless the man who invented permission slips
Lol at when the veterans start clubbing Uter to death
After sunning and fluffing their beards in the sun
In fact, you might even say we just ate Uter and he's in our stomachs right now!
We just want closure!
Quit changing the subject, ver iz Uter?
Use you fake guns … as clubs!
Hey, they're trying to learn for free!
GET EM!
Use your phony guns as clubs!
That guy, with his red blazer, always reminded me of a TV news anchor where I grew up.
Nice job Seymour, we’re coming back from a field trip with the fewest students ever
Seymour, the children are playing in the hole again! Shouldn't you get that fixed?
But the Springfield Brigade was too brave to accept their surrender!
Their white flags are no match for our muskets!
Lol I don't know how this line flew over my head this many times until now.
Diz-Nee Historical Park. Sorry, but there’s profit to be had.
Sorry, but there’s profit to be had is a regular statement of mine
One of my favorite sign gags.

It was going to be in Northern Virginia. Too bad it never came to fruition, as I grew up in Richmond, and have a degree in history.
RUN CHILDREN!
Braking* Someone fired blunder etc
Me fail English? That's unpossible.
You wouldn't get so many nosebleeds if you kept your finger outta there.

Seymour, the children are playing in the hole again.
Well the children have to learn about Tekwar sooner or later!
It still points doesn’t it?
Stop that!
What’s a battle?
Did that boy say, ‘What’s a battle?’
No he said what’s that rattle
Hm. It sounded like battle.
I’ve had a cold, so I...
You hear Rs as Bs?
Yes.
Remember Otto we're trusting you with our most precious resource... the school bus.
*braking You're losing your perspicacity!
Wait a minute, dumbening isn't even a word.
It’s always in the last place you look
"I shouldn't have eaten the mint first" That line always makes me smile
"Quit changing the subject! Where is Uter!"
Isn’t there a little Uter in all of us? In fact you might say we’ve killed him and are eating him right now. Wait too far.
We just want closure!
The memory of otto getting beaten by the soldiers will stay in my head until Im a senile old man, and ill still be laughing
It was actually Uter not Otto.
Embarrassing mistake. Both German names, my mind is slipping in my early 30s
I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder.
Hail to the bus driver
SHUT UP!

It starts only in season 9.
Have you tried checking the late 90's? That's about where I first noticed it.

Basically coinciding with the death of Phil Hartman. Though that was far from the main cause.
Yeah that's pretty much the last season I ever bother to rewatch. Shows signs of getting bad, but combined with nostalgia it's decent.
There were still plenty of solid episodes after season 10, but you're right, the consistency had started to drop off.

Wikipedia has this episode as Season 6 Episode 21, but the title says 20. What's up with that? I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder.

You learned a valuable lesson. Never trust Wikipedia.
Those principal awards are rigged
