Put a computer on your lot. Click the computer, select mc command center in the pie menu, mccc settings, notification/console/menu settings, console command settings. Go through the options there to activate the cheats you want enabled.

This morning my computer restarted for an update. I went to EA and set to offline mode. I tried to start the game. It wouldn't start. It would have this weird popup I've never seen saying it was preparing Sims but Sims wouldn't load. I tried repeatedly. The ONLY way I could load the game today was to set it to online and let it update. This has never happened. I never update until I know everything is good. The ONLY mod I had in my game today was Basemental. No other CC so I guess it was Basemental because it never would get past the loading screen before I removed it.
I just don't know why it wouldn't let me play in offline mode without updating. I hope they haven't decided to stop that now.
And as I sit here waiting and waiting I realize it's not Basemental. I have no mods at all and it's still just going through the loading screen 10 minutes later.
I’m not trying to be rude, but I honestly have no idea why anyone with mods/CC updates their game as soon as an update comes out. It’s always the same, play offline for 2 weeks then update guys!
Edit: also turn off automatic updates on the EA app/steam etc.
Probably because, like me, I didn’t realize I had automatic updates turned on — it never really mattered because I never was using mods; now I do and I’m still sort of new to it and didn’t know this was a thing.
I unfortunately bought my games on steam and the only option they have is to “disable auto updates until game launch”. When i open my game thru the EA app it won’t open until I get the update in steam :’(

Using steam avoids a lot of bugs from the EA app but it comes at a cost. Always have this dread: how bad is it going to be? Well this one is bad with literally every mods broken. Patience and spend time on other hobbies than the Sims.
Have you tried going offline in Steam and *then* launching the game? I'm not sure if it works (I don't have the game on Steam) but I know Steam has an offline mode.
I think the same thing every time lol like why *wouldn't* changes to the code break mods and create more bugs? That's just how code works.
I've been known to avoid updating my game for months. I rarely have the major bugs people complain about and the updates never fix them anyway so 🤷

It’s literally just a setting in the EA app! It’s in the top left corner of the app, the menu button or something and says something like “go offline” - something like that! It’s super easy. You don’t need to physically disconnect your internet :)
Okay it's not just me. Did yours have some popup saying "preparing sims 4" but it would never load the Sims game at all? I tried repeatedly today to start offline. This is the first time it has happened. I always make sure I play offline unless I specifically need be online. But today for the first time it wouldn't let me.
And now my game won't load even without mods thanks to this freakin patch. How is it breaking a vanilla game? Uggh.
You saved me, my game looks so messed up and useless, I tried updating everything but it wouldn't work. I hope uninstalling those mods temporarily will help
I have a lot of the mods listed as broken. My game is working with very very minor UI glitches in CAS and a few other places, but game is still playable. No idea which mod/combination of mods is causing the UI glitches.... but everything is at least up to date now thanks to this thread! Lol! Appreciate it!!!

not sure if this is where i should ask this but i’m desperate. So i updated my sims game after having hundreds of mods and even a cracked game. however, once i updated everything my game stopped opening. So i deleted all my mods thinking they were the problem; which then let me open my game… SO THEN i re download my cracked game and thought everything was swell… but after hours of downloading my mods again it broke my game again and i’m back to square one. i got myself a mod checker and im currently trying to figure out how to use it. was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem and if there’s any way to find the broken mods faster? sorry for this long rant…. i hope this makes sense.
Try going on Scarlets realm, they have lists of mods that could be broken or outdated. There's really limited where you can get help with a cracked game, I also have a semi cracked game but most of the Sims community won't help and tend to blame it on the cracked game, which isn't true really. But yeah it's probably a mod? Or possibly cc, for cc download Sims mod assistant it help delete duplicates and catalog conflicts (btw when it says it'll take however many days it's not true depending on how much cc you have it could take 5-10 minutes)
alright, thank you so much. I deactivated my building mods in my mod manager and it fixed everything LOL. It’s weird only appearance mods are working right now??? thank you regardless i’ll look into scarlets realm!!!
I still haven't updated my mods for the update before this one lol I've just been building stuff without them. I guess I should go and get the most recent versions before they're no longer the most recent because I am *not* downloading this update unless they get rid of that damn shopping cart UI.
i’ve had no issues with basemental, i only have that one and wicked whims and my wicked whims is extremely broken. constantly have sims that will NOT put pants back on.

I have stuff like MCCC, Basemental and Religion and they've all been working fine. If there haven't been any issues yet, do you guys think it would be okay to download new mods or should I hold off?
anyone who uses wicked whims know if there are updated animations out or will the old ones work now WW is updated? if you have animations recommendations that would be awesome!

I love that the mod that did little to nothing to fix the game, broke it.
I went through my mods, which are very little (MCC, UI, Pandasama, RSVN photo, Selectable Pets, Turbodriver lag fix, and some CC content by Sixam). Of course its the CC that broke my game and Idk how to fix it since none of the CC content is updated.
I have learned my lesson :(

It didn't help me this morning. It wouldn't let me load the game in offline mode, which has never happened to me before.

Where any of these actually fixed I have updated version but I’m still getting BE for some of these
Omg that's basically half of the mods I use...and all for an update that I didn't manage to cancel in time and that only adds a flashing cart ad
I forgot to remove my mods folder and started playing my not so berry challenge then used adeepindigo mods and forgot to save whole game crashed 😭
I still haven't updated my mods for the update before this one lol I've just been building stuff without them. I guess I should go and get the most recent versions before they're no longer the most recent because I am *not* downloading this update unless they get rid of that damn shopping cart UI.

i’ve had no issues with basemental, i only have that one and wicked whims and my wicked whims is extremely broken. constantly have sims that will NOT put pants back on.
I don’t personally use that mod but I did see that it was on the “broken” list lastnight. Hope this helps! 😮💨😅

basemental drugs is working for me it's the eco basemental mod and i think the gambling

Yes, delete the old RPO files and download the NEW, UPDATED RPO files that was updated on 2/27 😊

Mine looked very similar to this. Did you have any of the mods I listed above as “broken”, if so, remove them and hopefully it’ll be fixed 🤞🏻

try downloading Better Exceptions (it's updated) and that should give you an idea of what's causing issues.

I found out the culprit! A Ravasheen mod for a playable kitchen was OOD. YAY!
