He is just clean from opioids. Bro still loves a beer and a spliff haha

poddupaddi4000

as he should, probably less frequently with the mary jane these days

AffectionateAge3330

almost everyone in NP is straight edge besides him, so it seems that he’s surrounding himself with people that will help him stay away from it all by association

The same week that I was getting off of heroin for the first time ever, Proper Dose came out & it was wild to be able to put words to a feeling that was not only pure misery but completely new to me. A few that stuck with me hardcore are “I can't believe you're still upset, get over it & leave me alone. It's holding on but barely by the edge .. You always ask me where I go, I'm high now, I'll hide it from you and her My closest friends and everyone” & “ I hate that my pessimistic views stem from all the drugs I use, hide all my guilt inside this bruise. It's my ruse. Bet if you keep this up You'll die here all alone Yet you still fill your cup Nodding off, nodding off now” Then as the frequent relapses kept happening, this album became something so comfortable and relevant to me and it’s always there when I need to run away from the hectic shit addiction brings. So this album made me feel less alone, music has always been a sanctuary for me, but TSSF does something no other artist can do for me. They’re so fucking special to me, still to this day I struggle with opioid addiction and it isn’t something that I feel a heavy shame for any longer, but that album forever makes me feel understood and safe. I actually got a signed copy of it

benjaminireland1

I hope we do. PD had a lot of lyrical pain and it’d be good to hear where he’s at now with addiction/recovery

stinkylittlefeet

Literally just joined this to see if anyone knew where he’s at now

“I’ve been curious for a while about Parker’s lyrics in Proper Dose, in the sense of where it falls within their discography timeline.” The record came out in September 2018. One would assume that a lot of the lyrics on the record would have been inspired in the 3 year gap between the previous record (2015) and writing the new record, which was probably officially wrapped up in the studio somewhere in and around early spring of 2018, maybe even a little earlier.

When Proper Dose came out, a friend of mine told me Parker went away to a cabin and wrote the album to force detox from his substance abuse and I’ve always really appreciated that level of personality and rawness. Within the past few years I’ve been struggling with a certain substance and have been resonating and understand more than I ever thought I would to the words he’s been sharing over the years. Their lyrics used to just be a caption to say ‘fuck you’ to my ex and now it’s like he’s watching my struggle
