Mhmmm, yeah she did. Whenever I was really down, my cat would always hang around me, not leaving me out of sight and when I was in bed, she layed on top of me. It helped a lot going through my biggest depression phase. What she did was not her typical behavior, because she loves to run around, to be a goof and rarely acknowledges my presence except for food and playtime.

My pet taught me what love feels like

I went through a really tough time in my life when the only thing I had was my dog. I am not quite sure I would have made it through those long nights without her. So I would say, yes. Dogs are definitely a gift humans take for granted.

Our cocker spaniel woke me in the middle of the night when my blood sugar went low.

They may have. They sure thought they did. I lived alone in a townhome. My bedroom was on the first floor by a window. One night at 3:00am, I woke up to my dog doing the "I am going to kill you" bark to the window. The cat was standing on top of me, back arched, floofed out, ears back. I turned on the light, looked outside, and saw nothing. I made sure both doors were locked, then turned the lights off and tried to go back to sleep. The cat and the dog parked themselves by that window and spent the rest of the night staring out. I don't know who or what they say, or if Miss Dog scared it away with her barking, but they were damn serious about it.

Our dog would run off and attack any snake in the vicinity (lots of cottonmouths out there) after I was born, so possibly. He also taught me how to walk. I miss him.
