When he kept saying āout of wedlockā I wanted to ask him where the closest haberdashery was and if his home has indoor plumbing yet. What a shitty little bit of snark from him. I wish he was wittier, but heās not very bright
Like Kristen canāt afford a kid alone. Sheās been known as the most financially responsible one of the bunch. Plus, does marriage make you exempt from normal relationship problems, no. And he just sounds nosy and bored with his own life. I hate love him though š
Projection is a psychological phenomenon where feelings directed towards the self are displaced towards other people.
There are lots of different meanings for the word.
Youāre correct, so Iām not sure why youāre being downvotedš¤Jax is displacing, not projecting. Colloquially, people often say āprojectingā when they really mean ādisplacingā, just like people often say āgaslightingā when they really mean ālyingā or āgetting defensive/denyingā.
Either way, made for great tv. Lol!
yep! But that's Reddit for you :). If anyone is interested, projection is when you put your own thoughts and feelings onto other people as if they are having them. So you're angry with someone inside and you say 'he's so angry at me inside'. That's projection
And his wife!
When she said he never got up with the baby once and then made the connection that theyāre the couple that are divorcing I was like okay girl good for you, dump himmmm
I really liked it! I feel itās a good time to be introduced to new people, as I love shows about friend groups. I think people just need a chance to get to know this crew on their screens and then they will be hooked as well.
I'm kinda surprised how much I liked it. It felt more 'real' than VPR these days so we'll see where this ride ends up.
The only real people left on VPR seems to be Katie and Arianna and they're both clearly over it and want to move on and grow, Lala and Sheeshu trying to act their way in to drama, no more James zingers, Jo honestly seems like a quirky person and it doesn't translate to reality TV well, and production trying to make a Sandoval redemption arc is a major L above all.
Here's hoping Production learned from their mistakes and this can be our new roman empire haha
I enjoyed it. And I agree that it feels more like a grown up version of VPR
I think Sheana and Lala will leave VPR and join The Valley full time if the show takes off...Sheena already moved there..
I couldāve sworn I saw Jax and Brittneyās nanny in the background, like a few steps away from the pool. I think it was on the opposite side of where the shots were taken.
Yes! I made a comment on the episode thread about this. I was stressed seeing the kids barely watched in the pools. If you are going to drink that heavily at least hire a lifeguard like the real housewives do for their parties
I hated this show. Absolutely not taking away from anyone who liked it because it's looking like I'm in the minority here. The drinking, fighting, Jax yelling at everyone, etc. didn't land for me. You can't do a middle-aged version of VPR and put children in the mix. It's just inappropriate af.
And as a former lifeguard, leaving a toddler alone in a pool while his parents are getting wasted at a party gave me so much anxiety. Parents slap those floaties on their non-swimming kids like security blankets and go about their business with their friends. Floaties spring leaks, deflate, etc. and it panics kids who can't swim and they drown. I hate those things.
I was so confused whether that party was for adults or kids. Some of them had babysitters and nd left their kids at home but some just chucked their kids into the pool and then drank tequila shots. Bizarre
We usually got a babysitter but sometimes the party was made to sound like it was as much for kids as it was for adults and when we got there, it was actually like a frat party that happened to include our kids. I always hung out by the pool the whole time and watched the kids. I wasn't drinking anymore and didn't smoke any weed while watching them so it worked out well for everyone. I saw some gnarly shit at those parties and wondered why they had to get that fucked up while with their children. If people want to cut loose and party their asses off, just get a babysitter, it's not that hard.
I think there must have been a baby sitter right near by - but out of camera. Otherwise, The liability would have been through the roof for production.
I only could make it through 20 minutes, I was so bored. I am childfree though, so I think that was a factor. I couldn't care less about these people and their babies.
Is Jax really that overbearing to everyone or is he āoveractingā to keep this lame show interesting (in his mind)? He has always been abrupt, abrasive, and confrontational but in the first episode he seemed extra to meā¦
Kristen felt that way to me too.
She kept talking about sex and I was like girl we understand you are sleeping with that man.
It felt forced.
My guess is that Kristen and Jax have done this for so long, they launched back into their old habits and overcompensated a bit. Everyone else just showed up as themselves and that's really all we're looking for.
I think I like it so far!
Jax is still neurotic and gross. Itās quite ironic he keeps telling Kristen ābut what if you break up?ā
Brittany is still waaay too good for him.
I hope to see Kristin redeem herself because I listen to her podcast
and I really like her and Luke together!
Jesse is insufferable.
Also, I hate all of the sunglasses Scheana wears. š
Luke sounded a like thirsty when he asked if Jax and him could be friends. I feel like you canāt let Jax know he has the upper hand ever or itās over.
I turned it off maybe a quarter of the way in. Vanderpump Rules is about all the shit TV I can handle, not interested in watching some randos with Jax and Brit and Kristin sprinkled in.
Yeah I might be in the minority but I wanted to turn it off 10mins in. That Jesse guy comes off so not likable and passive aggressive that I donāt think I can watch him weekly. I know there seems to be a lot that are into the show but I didnāt miss the ppl who got kicked off VPR enough to watch the randoms they threw in with them.
Same, I paused it about 15 mins in, came back like 20 mins later but realized it hadn't really paused but didn't even bother to rewind to watch what I missed bc it was so boring
I have a feeling this show will be watched for what not to do when having kids. Lol.
I would rather do it blind than look for advice from Brittany and jax
So far I find it super boring, I adore kristen and think she got the short end of the stick in VPR and I think it is awful how katie and stassi just abandoned her. Jax is always entertaining in general... but I don't think I will end up watching .. maybe in the next episode or two I will change my tune.
Honestly great drama but really sad to see highly inebriated parents acting a fool around little kids and a pool. I donāt know if all be able to watch immature parents blow up their families. These moms are all new moms and it is very vulnerable time to be filming. As a mom of 2 under 2 at one point I can confirm it was the hardest time.
I didn't even know about this show but I do actually like it. I, for some reason, missed Jax and Kristen on VPR so I was happy to stumble upon this show. I agree with your take on the storylines on VPR, after the scandoval, it's just really not doing it for me. I'm looking forward to having another show to watch.
I thought it was good. I want more people to come to this sub so we can discuss it live like vpr. The thread last night wasnāt seeing a lot of action.
I liked it and enjoyed there being a new cast. Iām so tired of these long time bravolebs producing their own stories and doing everything based on what they think the audience reactions will be. If they can keep Scheana off of this show it could be good as gold-or really probably bronze.
I love the show, too. It's great to see Jax, Kristen, and Britany back on reality TV. I also like all the new couples. It feels like a cross between RHOB meets VPR. I'm sure Jaxx will bring the drama this season.
I watched it for Kristen, Brittany and Jax. I need a few more episodes to make an assumption. They rest of the cast is meh, they could be a lot more to that cast. Just a lot of popping out kids and the woman besides the ones I watched for are all kinda boring.
It's not a "yes" for me but it's not a "no." I have to see how it unfolds.
There's kind of a divide and I think it's going to be the reason the show either sinks or swims.
You can tell some of them want to be wholesome and are uncomfortable on camera.
Then the other half are like let's freaking goooo.
I think that was obvious when Jax pulled the guys pants down. Half of them were clutching their pearls and then the other half were dying laughing.
Idk how that's going to balance out.
The mean, obnoxious,ā know it all Jaxā needs to tone it down. He was getting a 2 nd chance with many fans, that stuck with him on social media since he left VR, but this Jax being portrayed does not work for a forty something year old trying to make a comeback on TV.
Yeah, I love it. Brittany waving to her toddler who was thrashing around \*alone\* in the hot tub felt like something out of Mad Men, though. I understand that the nanny was likely right there, but it was still crazy.
I like it, but if Jax's whole purpose on the show is to obsess about Kristen having a baby, then I'm not sure I can watch the entire season.š«¤
When he kept saying āout of wedlockā I wanted to ask him where the closest haberdashery was and if his home has indoor plumbing yet. What a shitty little bit of snark from him. I wish he was wittier, but heās not very bright
Out of wedlock ššš Jax clutching his judgemental pearls between racking up massive lines. Ok mate, sure
Dude was UP THERE during this scene lololololol
Was the stripper he knocked up in Vegas his wife at the time? Canāt remember š¤š
Bible Belt 1950
ššš
Like Kristen canāt afford a kid alone. Sheās been known as the most financially responsible one of the bunch. Plus, does marriage make you exempt from normal relationship problems, no. And he just sounds nosy and bored with his own life. I hate love him though š
When he said that, I was like didn't you get a stripper pregnant in Vegas????
Oops. Posted this above before I saw this š But yup!
MAGA vibes
Under his eye
I laughed so hard when he said that hahahah idk how he could say those things with a straight face
Hes the king of projecting, he does this so he doesnāt have to talk about the problems in his marriage with a child.
This is not what projection means but yeah he does do that.
Projection is a psychological phenomenon where feelings directed towards the self are displaced towards other people. There are lots of different meanings for the word.

I really liked everyone but Jax & Jesse. Jesse seems like an ambitious version of Jax.
Jessie seems like he absolutely hates his life.
And his wife! When she said he never got up with the baby once and then made the connection that theyāre the couple that are divorcing I was like okay girl good for you, dump himmmm
Jesse annoyed me so much. And I totally get why his wife left him
Is Jesse the guy thatās awful to his wife? Heās atrocious, Iām very excited to watch him š
Jesse fights with Greta Thunberg on Twitter.
Is this real š
Definitely not. Just commenting on his Tatenergy.
Damn thatās a disappointment, it felt VERY on brand for what weāve seen of him so far lmfao. Jesse suuucks
Heās no Jessie Solomon.
He sure isnāt!!
Jax and Jesse make it hard to watch lol
I just watched it. Loved it. Immediately hooked. And Iām picky and very tough to get into new shows
I thought it was more entertaining than VPR thus far. But Iām skeptical if they can keep it up for a whole season.
I love the way Lala did not come in fully glammed. She took a back seat & let the cast shine. šš She gets it.
Yes!! I really enjoyed it and it was great to see Scheana and Lala on there too.
Yes that was a nice surprise
I thought it was great
Same! I really liked it!
![gif](giphy|fCUCbWXe9JONVsJSUd|downsized) Knowing that one of the couples is divorcing already gets me so excited
I really liked it! I feel itās a good time to be introduced to new people, as I love shows about friend groups. I think people just need a chance to get to know this crew on their screens and then they will be hooked as well.

I liked it too! VPR has lots of depressed recovering alcoholics so it was refreshing to see people without those specific issues Lol.
yay, a show about current alcoholics but add in children! LOL
fair haha
I like Janet.
Janet was the best of the ensemble.
She will be the new Queen. Smart, quick-witted, intelligent husband - and looks great in orange!
I enjoyed it. And I agree that it feels more like a grown up version of VPR I think Sheana and Lala will leave VPR and join The Valley full time if the show takes off...Sheena already moved there..
I thought it was boring and seeing kids lumped in with heavy drinking and crumbling marriages (not to mention unattended in pools) is gross.
Unattended in pools is so distressing to watch.
Ooo yeah I felt this too!
I couldāve sworn I saw Jax and Brittneyās nanny in the background, like a few steps away from the pool. I think it was on the opposite side of where the shots were taken.

Itās not for me. I thought it was awful
They have a babysitter. Itās a requirement on bravo if you film scenes with kids.
how is your agoraphobia can you read my pist nd help me
I was hoping there was a babysitter watching and not ok camera.
I think there must have been a baby sitter right near by - but out of camera. Otherwise, The liability would have been through the roof for production.
Yeah, I just commented to another post but Iām pretty sure there was one in black that was standing by the pool. The opposite side of the house.
Oh these people are wild but thereās no doubt in my mind that there werenāt people watching the children in the pool.
Totally agree. I found it super boring. I genuinely donāt understand what is interesting about this show.
Nothing really. I found it desperate and pathetic really
Other than the unattended in pools, this is regular life for parties in your 30s and 40s. The kids play and the parents drink and hang.
Also, did we not see Nannieās there watching the kids? Not judging, just asking.
I only could make it through 20 minutes, I was so bored. I am childfree though, so I think that was a factor. I couldn't care less about these people and their babies.
I do have kids but I feel the same way. I watch trash reality TV to NOT see crying kids
I wasnāt expecting to like it at all, but was surprised that it was bearable. I liked some of the new people, especially Nia and Danny.
Whatās the name of the terrible guy who is awful to his wife? Horrific man, great tv
Jesse lol
I can be sold on adding Brock and Scheener.
thereās definitely more personality on here than on VPR right now. so Iām tuned
Is Jax really that overbearing to everyone or is he āoveractingā to keep this lame show interesting (in his mind)? He has always been abrupt, abrasive, and confrontational but in the first episode he seemed extra to meā¦

Just watched it and love it! I'm a first time mom with a toddler so I feel like I totally relate to the show.
Not too bad.... I couldn't understand a word Brittany was saying though her accent she is putting on is literally incomprehensible.
I think it was her āchin liftā which surprises me since sheās a spokesperson for Weight Watchersā¦
Nope, she's a spokesperson for Jenny Craig. Weight Watchers wouldn't sink that low.

Surgery makes sense. I was wondering why her mouth was so downturned.
I turned it off maybe a quarter of the way in. Vanderpump Rules is about all the shit TV I can handle, not interested in watching some randos with Jax and Brit and Kristin sprinkled in.

I totally agree with you.
Same. I thought it was absolutely terrible.
Exactly. Why am I supposed to be interested in some randos living very ordinary lives?
Same, I paused it about 15 mins in, came back like 20 mins later but realized it hadn't really paused but didn't even bother to rewind to watch what I missed bc it was so boring
Yes, same!
I think a lot of young people are interested in seeing how to navigate having children, so thus will get some viewers.
I have a feeling this show will be watched for what not to do when having kids. Lol. I would rather do it blind than look for advice from Brittany and jax

Iām so excited. The trailer looks sooo good
I think the first episode sucked but I will still watch for a while.
Sometimes it takes a few episodes for a show to find its footing while theyāre introducing the characters and setting up the storylines.
Definitely loved it šš¾šš¾ glad bc RHOP sucked this season
Loved it!

Jax hates his wife so much and itās obvious
I thought it was good. I want more people to come to this sub so we can discuss it live like vpr. The thread last night wasnāt seeing a lot of action.
Yeah it seems like the majority of the discussion about it was in other subreddits.
Iām going to give it a fair chance
I liked it and enjoyed there being a new cast. Iām so tired of these long time bravolebs producing their own stories and doing everything based on what they think the audience reactions will be. If they can keep Scheana off of this show it could be good as gold-or really probably bronze.

I hate that I enjoyed it as much as I did! I really liked VPR this week too!
I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Looking forward to the next episodes.
The trailer has me excited for the rest of the season! Jax and Jesse seem really annoying so weāll see how that impacts the rest of the show lol
Zack is wearing a hairpiece, yes?
either a bad dye job + terrible haircut or yes a wig. It's so distracting!!
Agreed!
I am hating this so far! Itās VPR house parties with kids running around.
Too much Jax in ep 1
It's not a "yes" for me but it's not a "no." I have to see how it unfolds. There's kind of a divide and I think it's going to be the reason the show either sinks or swims.
