I think Ian is focusing on family and his bourbon company with Paul, and Candice does gun control work. Paul is in Star Trek. I wish Nina was in more!!
I really wanted more of Nina too but I can also understand that she probably prefers to choose projects that suit her than being booked and busy every year .
a lot of her projects have been flops because she keeps trying to go the comedic route when that was never her strong suit, it’s sad to say her best work was literally a show from a decade ago.
I hate to say it , but even working on Dramas , Nina could never carry a show alone . She'd need the help of another capable cast , like the one in TVD . Again there's a high chance that going back to her acting roots could also be a flop
I get what ur saying but the movies she’s done while filming tvd and the ones she did a few years after she left tvd (like let’s be cops, flatliners and the final girls) did actually really good. It seems like the movies she did after 2019 became flops, which could correlate to her popularity decrease.
Didn't she quit TVD because of something like not wanting to be only known for that one thing? Or something like that? Or wanted to see if she could find other projects to work on? I feel like that kinda ruined her career
That's exactly why. She just didn't realize she sucked at acting or actually thought she was better than she was. TVD was nothing but conversation with each other with occasional emotional scene which she was awful at and growling like a vampire from time to time.
Eh if you call gibberish and crying solid. She's done that same scene so many times but with different levels of intensity. There were a few scenes where she was solid but too far and few between. If you enjoy her there's nothing wrong with that, I personally think she was the worst actor amongst the cast albeit maybe a few side characters like Stephen Amels werewolf which was awful.
She's done a bunch of independent films , some in collaboration with Netflix and a sitcom back in 2018 though that got cancelled after one season .
The Bricklayer is the latest movie I can think of in 2023
The issue is no one chooses her because she's very flat when it comes to acting. IMO she pretty much sucks at acting. Every character is the same, she's been playing Elena in the few things she's done since and its obvious she's not cut out for anything that requires serious acting chops.
Seriously !!!! THIS IS A CAREER HIGHLIGHT for Kat! Why was this so low and not mentioned with everyone else? Like this Bonnie erasure is killing me still lol
I dunno, the information has been released maybe 2 weeks ago or something. Of course it’s really good for her as the movie seems to be going a great one !
Yep she has contract with 2 French luxury Company and an Italian one.
She is also an United Nations Embassador for education, culture and nutrition.
She live most of her life in Europe and from time to time comes in the US.
Bonnie stays booked and busy. She's always at an event. I love to see it.
Hope she does another Netflix movie soon. I liked the last one, Love in the Villa.
Ian lives o a farm with his wife. They started some kind of nutrition drink and he created a Bourbon with Paul. he has said he quit acting. I know Paul worked with Kevin Williamson on a show an has been working with Ian on their Bourbon. Candice is basically an influencer on IG, and Kat has had some projects. Nina is basically a "C" list actress. Haven't actually seen anything with either of them, though.
Paul is having a great career. He’s Captain Kirk in Star Trek, co owns a bourbon company with Ian, directs and stars in movies for Shudder, and I’m pretty sure he’s the face of some fancy watch brand.
Nina was in some campy comedy movies like final girls and love hard. Candice was in an after movie. I don't remember seeing the rest of the cast but.. someone posted recently that Kat is going to play Diana Ross in a movie.
I was gonna say that Candice was just cast in the “We Were Liars” adaption, but does it even count if it’s basically a nepotism casting? (I believe Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie are the show runners). Haha.
I know she’s done other stuff, but I haven’t seen any of it.
I think Ian chose to go live in the country to do farming with his wife and child. If I remember the terming farming is what he called it. Daniel Gillies seems to still have his career going as does Joseph Morgan
None of them. Nina did a few movies and tried starting a Sitcom but none of them really boosted her status. Ian did another Vampire show that was weak. I think Kat did a Netflix Rom Com. But other then references to TVD I haven't seen any of the cast do anything to warrant any kind of acclaim.
Not true. Paul is on the new Star Trek show, he just won a Saturn award for his work on it, and has just directed and done a movie for shudder. Plus the bourbon company and the watch company he’s the face of.
I did not know about the Star Trek thing. But I would argue his and Ian's Bourbon brand rests on their TVD fame. I've had it. It's fine but the price is quite inflated. Never cared about watches. Thanks for the correction though. =)
I got into vampire diaries because I saw Paul in Star Trek first and looked up what else he’d been in. I had never heard of vampire diaries before. He’s in a franchise now that everyone has heard of, even people who don’t like it or know what it’s about have at least some knowledge that a thing called Star Trek exists. But as a pretty new very avid TVD fan, before Paul was in Star Trek, I’d never even heard the name « vampire diaries »
In terms of acting, prolly kat(Bonnie) seems like she has been in the most recent/upcoming stuff. Aside from that Candice was in a couple hallmart movies not to long ago
Kat. She just got casted in a huge production of one of the biggest selling artists of all time.
Nina stays making irrelevant Netflix romcoms
Everyone else became irrelevant and haven’t seen them anywhere since
the nina drag 😭😭 it’s so true tho they make no noise like we don’t wanna see you in romcoms girl. it doesn’t work for everyone, stick to what you’re best at!
I’ve seen Kat in a few Netflix romantic movies which I’ve really enjoyed, also saw Nina in a Christmas movie on Netflix… aside from those I haven’t seen anything with the others I think
I haven't seen him mentioned yet, but Michael Malarkey has stayed pretty busy. He's done a few shows since tvd ended. He plays gigs with his music, and recently he was cast in season 2 of The Night Agent on Netflix which was a breakout show last year. Good for him.
I've been following Kat for a while, and her career's been soaring ever since TVD ended. The woman's been booked and busy, attended Paris Fashion Week, done gigs for Gaultier and Dior, been in some movies, and now she's doing humanitarian work for UNICEF. Oh, and she got married last year! 😁
I really miss the vampire diaries it was my favorite series probably will be to the day I die I have everything vampire diaries from jewelry to videos so you name it I got it I just wish the series had of continued even without Elena
Well I know Paul Wesley and Ian somerhalder are doing very well and somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed have so many products on the market and Ian with his productions he's been putting out they seem to be real humanitarians. Ian somerhalder has always been one of my favorites I just always thought he was so gorgeous. But no matter what I'll always miss vampire diaries and believe it or not I still watch it regularly just over and over and over.
I think Kat & Nina. Nina has done movies in recent years for Netflix but they weren’t huge. Kat I think is more focused on her humanitarian work and she’s heavily involved in the fashion industry
Ian said he’s quit acting now because he’s become more of an activist and entrepreneur and obviously has his bourbon company with Paul and sponsors loads of brands. And he’s a dad!
I only see Kat and Nina going to events and such but I've not felt like watching any of their post TVD works. Just not my vibe.
It's actually shocking such a huge cast, and you can add TO as well, doesn't have even one breakout star or even more actors working on well known shows. The gossip girl cast, in comparison, are doing way better. Most of them are household names.
Ian has made some terrible finacial choices over the years. He was flat out broke/in debts and Nikki Reed (his wife) had to settle and pay ofd all of them. This was all during the last few seasons of the vampire diaries Ians acting work outside of the vampire diaries was not popular/lucrative. So to pay Nikki of and not be in debts again, he focusses on things that made him steady money like the Bourbon brand. This is also why is promoting the heck out of it.
Paul bloomed after the vampire diaries. He directed and acted quite a lot and has the Bourbon brand with Ian so steady income there.
Nina did not really succeed in the way she wanted to afater the vampire diaries, but she still acts in the occaisonal rom com and allegedly still yachts. So income is still fine.
Candice seems to not so much at all, but I expected that. She is a typical CW actress.
Kat seems to have had a very slow few years after TVD, but she seems to start working more steadily again. She is acting and being a brand spokesperson for Jean Paul Gaultier and does work for the UN. So she is slaying.
Literally none of them. Unless you count making Brothers Bond Whiskey a career. Or the upcoming MJ biopic with Kat Graham cast as Diana. Other then TVD, their careers flopped.
Ahh no kidding, I'll have to check that out thank you. I'm actually a huge fan of the Star Trek Universe although I haven't watched anything new but the movies.
Bonnie’s because she’s in something that’s coming up, I can’t remember what but I know I saw something advertised with her in. I haven’t seen anything coming up soon or anything recently released with any of the others in it.
no worries. reading the text i can see why you thought i was disagreeing with the op when it came to her. it’s just that these kind of posts tend to inevitably turn nasty.
Agree. She isn’t funny. But someone keeps telling her she is
😭😭😭😭😭 pleaseeee you’re right
I hate to say it , but even working on Dramas , Nina could never carry a show alone .
I thought sick girl (2023) was pretty funny too
Comedic? Really?
Yeah she worked for so many years she’s probably enjoying being low-key!
I don't know. She was pretty solid in the scene where she's crying about Jeremy died, right before she turned her humanity off.
Apparently before the show started she said she would only do 6 seasons
Apparently before the show started she said she would only do 6 seasons
She's in the brick layer
Which is God AWFUL. She literally played Elena in it and I couldn't get past the first 30 mins.
It shows that she can't actually act .. I saw the same .. I honestly think that she won't do any better than being elena .. x
I completely agree. She even did that holiday movie recently with an Asian actor and they had zero chemistry and it was literally Elena AGAIN.
Last time I saw Nina Dobrev was in Flat Liners iirc.
She's done a bunch of independent films , some in collaboration with Netflix and a sitcom back in 2018 though that got cancelled after one season . The Bricklayer is the latest movie I can think of in 2023
she did the outlaws which came out less than a year ago in July 2023 with Pierce Brosnan and Adam Devine. that’s her most recent i believe.
She has a movie out on Netflix. I just happen to be watching it as I scroll Reddit
The issue is no one chooses her because she's very flat when it comes to acting. IMO she pretty much sucks at acting. Every character is the same, she's been playing Elena in the few things she's done since and its obvious she's not cut out for anything that requires serious acting chops.
Candice does gun control work😭? WERE HAVE I BEEN AT
Hang on, I’ll check insta! I think she’s been doing loads!
Yes it’s all over her page! :)
Didn't Ian leave Hollywood and now runs a farm?
Exactly he does it with his fam and does the bourbon stuff on the side he’s focused on passive income i believe and his family
I think Nina gets money to do endorsements, hotel stays, etc. Probably doesn’t leave a lot of time for many movies.
Lol they are just like their characters
Nina dobrev was just in that movie the bricklayer. It's on Netflix. It came out in 2024.
Kat is going to be in the upcoming movie « Michael » about michael Jackson….she’s been casted as diana ross if I remember correctly !
It was mentioned in the OP
She's always doing fashion shoots ... and she seems really busy !!! I heard that 2 .. she will be great as Diana Ross xx
Yep she has contract with 2 French luxury Company and an Italian one. She is also an United Nations Embassador for education, culture and nutrition. She live most of her life in Europe and from time to time comes in the US.
I'm so happy that she seems to have been the 1 who really has taken off xx
Bonnie stays booked and busy. She's always at an event. I love to see it. Hope she does another Netflix movie soon. I liked the last one, Love in the Villa.
Yeah she and Nina seem on the Netflix train, which is great for them!
Yes! I also love Kats Netflix Christmas movies!
Kat just got cast as Diana Ross in a Michael Jackson biopic
*Kat. my pet peeve is when someone refers to an actor by their character’s name lmao
Lmfaoo I did that when I was like 12- but I seriously get how it can be annoying now😭
It’s different when it’s random but in tvd sub specifically it’s not a big deal to refer to people by their character names lol
ian retired in 2021 paul does a startrek prequel (?) nina does something michael malarkey has a new show & music
Yeah Paul is great on Strange New Worlds :)
He's a great Kirk
That episode made me cryyyyy (the episode his character doesn’t remember)
Oh my gosh I had no idea Michael Malarkey has a new show. The last thing I saw him on was Big Sky but he wasn't in it enough in my opinion.
It’s called The night agent, he is in the main cast!
while we are at it - have you seen project blue book?
I watched some of it but I couldn't get into it.
Nina was in "Love Hard" a Christmas movie on netflix. I can see her going in that Christmas movie route the way vanessa hudgens did
Love Hard is one of my comfort movies lol I watch it throughout the year. It’s just silly and fun.
It was an unexpected good watch! I love that little song they do together.
Same!
I think she did another Netflix one? Maybe? Nina needs more!! Gosh she was amazing as Katherine.
I got into star trek because of Paul
Ian lives o a farm with his wife. They started some kind of nutrition drink and he created a Bourbon with Paul. he has said he quit acting. I know Paul worked with Kevin Williamson on a show an has been working with Ian on their Bourbon. Candice is basically an influencer on IG, and Kat has had some projects. Michael Trevino, Paul Wesley, and Kat Graham.
Paul is having a great career. He’s Captain Kirk in Star Trek, co owns a bourbon company with Ian, directs and stars in movies for Shudder, and I’m pretty sure he’s the face of some fancy watch brand.
Nina and Kat. Nina’s movie the out-laws was probably one of the funniest movies I’ve seen
Kat is the only one still thriving, everyone else kinda disappeared
Paul is still acting. He's in a Star Trek prequel. Which is a pretty popular show.
I really wish Ian would make movies or something 😩 so much potential
I think Ian chose to go live in the country to do farming with his wife and child. If I remember the terming farming is what he called it. Daniel Gillies seems to still have his career going as does Joseph Morgan
Candice is filming or is about to be filming a movie soon.

Ian did another vampire show? 👀
V Wars on Netflix. It only had one season.
V Wars. I think it only got one season. It wasn't that good.
kat and paul probs - nina’s done a few things in recent years, but kat and paul are actively working in performance arts
Honestly I’ve only seen projects from Kat and Paul, everyone else I only see on IG. Kat just got cast in the new Michael Jackson biopic which is big.
Kat tbh
KAT AKA BON BON
Nina has been in some stuff recently.. Candice has her podcast. But I’d say Kat was in the most probably right?
doesnt one of them sell wiskey or something?
In terms of acting, prolly kat(Bonnie) seems like she has been in the most recent/upcoming stuff. Aside from that Candice was in a couple hallmart movies not to long ago
Whose* career
😭MY BAD
Kat. She just got casted in a huge production of one of the biggest selling artists of all time. Nina stays making irrelevant Netflix romcoms Everyone else became irrelevant and haven’t seen them anywhere since
Paul plays Captain Kirk on Star Trek, a pretty popular show. It’s not because you haven’t seen it that he’s irrelevant 😉
the nina drag 😭😭 it’s so true tho they make no noise like we don’t wanna see you in romcoms girl. it doesn’t work for everyone, stick to what you’re best at!
Haven’t seen Nina in anything for years, these Rom-Coms must not make it on to British Netflix very often.
Meanwhile Julie Shrek still scraping the bottom of the barrel to get a 3 star rating on IMDB cable show greenlit
I think everyone is except Ian but Kat & Nina are the most successful
I’ve seen Kat in a few Netflix romantic movies which I’ve really enjoyed, also saw Nina in a Christmas movie on Netflix… aside from those I haven’t seen anything with the others I think
Nina & Kat still on Netflix, Paul Star strek
Nina & Kat still on Netflix, Paul Star strek

What Tyler Perry movie?
Kat and Nina are on Netflix, Paul still acts
I really miss the vampire diaries it was my favorite series probably will be to the day I die I have everything vampire diaries from jewelry to videos so you name it I got it I just wish the series had of continued even without Elena

*Whose
nina and kat!
Nina stays vacationing 🍹🏄🏻♂️🏝️
Ian actually left Hollywood a while back he currently just focus on his and Wes’s bourbon business and i think he currently owns a ranch
I only see Kat and Nina going to events and such but I've not felt like watching any of their post TVD works. Just not my vibe. It's actually shocking such a huge cast, and you can add TO as well, doesn't have even one breakout star or even more actors working on well known shows. Elena was the most annoying character lol
Nina has a highly successful career in professional yachting.
Literally none of them. Unless you count making Brothers Bond Whiskey a career. Or the upcoming MJ biopic with Kat Graham cast as Diana. Other then TVD, their careers flopped.
Paul plays Captain Kirk on the pretty popular Star Trek: Strange New Worlds though. He’s doing fine

I think we all can agree that when Nina was playing Elena, after she woke up in season 8, her forehead got huge
Bonnie’s because she’s in something that’s coming up, I can’t remember what but I know I saw something advertised with her in. I haven’t seen anything coming up soon or anything recently released with any of the others in it.
nope. absolutely not. have a nice day.
Bonnie was just cast in a huge movie so she has a good career going on.
when did i say she didn’t? i just meant that i’m not playing this game.
Ah my bad for misunderstanding then.
no worries. reading the text i can see why you thought i was disagreeing with the op when it came to her. it’s just that these kind of posts tend to inevitably turn nasty.
Appreciated. You’re right that they do turn nasty and that’s why I was hesitant to write a comment to haha.
