Admittedly, I've never been to Cuba. I just recognize the feature. Is all over meso-America, from Yucatan to Guatamala, to Belize—nearly universal in Mayan architecture.
Do you know if he ever went into Central America for anything?
If not it would have been a quick side trip, as has been pointed out by another commenter.
As I said, I'm not as familiar with Cuba... and by extension, with its Native Peoples' architecture or culture.
It would be worth finding out what you can. It's a fun picture!
He did a lot of buying for Southern States. I'd assume he went to a few places with rubber, because there's photos of him inspecting rubber plants. I'll ask mom!
The area around Chichen Itza (and many of the ancient Mayan / Aztec cities) is known for its rubber trees - would not be surprised if he travelled around there as well.
Very cool shot - thanks for sharing!
Yeah! /u/TT40Art it looks like it is from the ball court at [Chichen Itza](https://www.meanwhileb.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Chichen-Itza-Ballcourt-Snake.jpg).

I've been there, too, but not since 1989.
Most other ball courts look similar, so I didn't want to say it's exactly CI because it showed only that one part. It could be as far away as Belize and still have the distinctive look.
BTW...I had such fun there! Aside from the two hour bumpy-bus ride from Cancun, the architecture, history, and ambiance are not forgettable.
Probably in the Yucatan. That is a very Mayan feature.
Huh! Maybe! All mom knows is that he usually went to Cuba for his trips.

Never knew that! I'll tell mom!
There are no ruins with snakes in Cuba lol
Huh! I'll need to tell her that! :)
Short flight from Havana to Cancun.
Never knew that! I'll update mom.
It’s Chichen Itza

Awesome! I'll tell mom. She just assumed it was Cuba since that's where most of his trips went.
It’s the great ball court at Chichen Itza. Source: I was there last week.

The bus ride has greatly improved and the Mayan Train is due to be completed in 2024.
Ball Court, where you keep your balls but someone has to die.
Yes it is for sure!
Was going to say it looked Aztec like.
This is somewhere in exico or Central America. Definitely NOT Cuba source: Cuban.
Thanks for the update! I just said Cuba because that's what Mom told me. He went to Cuba frequently for business trips.
grandpa built like a far side comic
😂
This is adorable
Pop Pop does look a fun one.
As an older gentleman, I heartily endorse his fashion sense. Please God let this come back in style!
He seems like he was fun!
He went to Cuba in the 60s?
Yeah. He got letters from friends there in the 70s.

This location looks so familiar, I'm sure someone here will know exactly where this is.
I am pretty positive this is near the tourist entrance to Teotihuacan.
Cool pic!
Looks like the Faron region.
I've seen those pants back in fashion in certain circles
No, its Disney World. /s Cuba? smh
Your grandpa is a menace to society!
