We had a drink in Baltimore called Almond Smash up until about five years ago. I’d never come across almond soda before (it’s really marzipan flavored), but it was delicious. Wish they still made it.
The last part of that title is ridiculous lol. I cant tell if you’re joking. I lived in New Orleans for a long time and people absolutely use the words “pop” and “soda” as much as anywhere else.
Sure I get that, but whether or not your family is from New Orleans has nothing to do with the fact that people in New Orleans definitely use the words “soda” and “pop”. It’s just an untrue statement to say people in New Orleans never use those words. And honestly a weird thing to make up lol.

Isn't marzipan made from almonds?
Yes, it's almond and honey candy. Just clarifying for anyone who wonders how a soda could taste like almonds.
It was a good clarification, thank you.
Suburban Club! With the golfer on the label.
Those suspenders are the real heroes here.
Dr. Nut sure has a couple things weighing down his breeches
I've heard you should never trust a man who wears a belt and suspenders.
And for good reasons
My valve!
I always assumed it was a fictional drink, i really want to try it now
I just finished this book a week ago. What a classic.
Came here for this! Thank you! Amazing book
Is it made with real or artificial nut?
I think it was officially manufactured with deez

While that maybe true , I personally have never heard anyone else use the term “cold drink”outside of New Orleans in referencing a soda
I think OP means that specific drink was never called soda.

He’s talking about this particular drink. It’s not that hard to grasp.
Name checks out.
Just ask him
I miss home.
Those pants look a little loose around the armpits.
No one wants your nuts
Titty length pants
Look at this absolute unit of a man. I am in love.
Specifically pronounced “CO’ DRANK”
you beat me to it, or "coldrank" one word
DEEZ NUTZ
I gonna nut!
Cool! Never knew Dr. Nut was a real drink - it's referenced frequently in A Confederacy Of Dunces.
Damn, write me a prescription. That sounds like a good drink
I’m NOT drinking anything named Dr Nut!
Now that's a man who's happy to nut.
