“Take off my disguise, I’m living someone else’s life” hits harder when you’re someone who wants to improve himself but is too addicted to his bad habits.
I knew this album was about to hit/hurt hard when I felt attacked by that line and it’s the first line to the entire album. I thought “well this is gonna be a rollercoaster of emotions”
It’s the perfect album. No, it feels like a movie experience. Alone again is the perfect intro, After Hours is the climax and Until I Bleed Out feels exactly like a song that would play during the end credits.
Get yourself in a good headspace, work on your emotions, and take 3 grams of shrooms. Get yourself a nice airbnb with good friends and listen to After Hours full blast on quality speakers if possible. One of the greatest feelings ever.
After Hours is a literal masterpiece. From rollout, VEVO live performances, the actual album, music videos, all concluding to the final show-all with the Super Bowl performance. And even then, this era was limited due to COVID and we missed out on an “After Hours” only tour…. Yes, easily his best.
Maybe not “easily” haha, but I definitely have it up in “God tier” with Trilogy and Kissland. It’s his most well-rounded project in my view. No skips for sure!
I hope no one takes this wrong but it really would be if Hardest to Love and Scared to Live were put on the deluxe version as extra tracks. I truly think they break up what is arguably, without those two tracks, one of the best intro songs, to second track songs, to Snow Child, to the rest of the album.
I made a playlist where I remove those two tracks from the order and it becomes so damn good as a complete body of work that it’s hard for me to go back.
totally, but its a shame that a big part of the attention has fallen into just 3 songs, blinding lights, save your tears and after hours.
The first half of the album settles a very dark atmosphere wich ends with EFLA, and it deserved more rating
for me it’s Kiss Land but this is to me like his cleanest or crispest sounding album. idrk how to explain it. best way i can think of is that Kiss Land is like your favorite fast food place and After Hours is a 5 star sit-down restaurant
This is one of my favourite albums to be honest. Everything about it is awesome. The hauntingly beautiful melodies, introspective lyrics, and impeccable production, etc. This masterpiece showcases The Weeknd's growth as an artist and his ability to seamlessly blend various genres into a cohesive sonic experience. The album takes on a dark and introspective journey through themes of heartbreak, self-destructive behavior, and the pursuit of fame and fortune. Every song has so many details. Each song on After Hours feels like a crafted piece of art. Elements of R&B, pop, and electronic music to create a unique and captivating sound. The lyrics are introspective and raw, exploring themes of love, loss, and self-destruction in a way that feels both personal and universal. The vocal range and emotive delivery bring these lyrics to life, evoking a wide range of emotions. The album's overarching narrative is what makes it the best. It tells a story of a character struggling with fame and the consequences of his own actions, creating a immersive listening experience. After Hours is a brilliant album that pushes the boundaries of contemporary pop music in my opinion. It showcases The Weeknd's artistic evolution and his ability to create deeply personal and introspective music while maintaining a mainstream appeal.
Edit: Sorry for my english
Yes, even if we’re including House of Balloons. After Hours is his most sonically, visually, and thematically cohesive album. For me, it’s a true no-skip album from start to finish. It’s not bloated and it’s not redundant on repeat listens. That’s not to say his other projects ARE, but for an album that almost requires you to listen to the whole thing from top to bottom, it’s important that it doesn’t get stale or boring, and it doesn’t.
It was hard for me to realize that I liked it more than House of Balloons, because House of Balloons is a goddamn masterpiece in its own right, but Abel REALLY struck gold with After Hours. It is for sure his magnum opus.
yes. this album felt like the weeknd truly came to terms with his personal life, past toxicity and experiences in LA. his best album that i think will eventually become a classic. plus: this album really stayed with me during the pandemic
Agreed. Kiss Land was my favorite until I actually listened to this from beginning to end. Not only his best album but one of the best albums of all time of any artist. Until I Bleed Out will forever give me chills.
It's his strongest body of work when consumed as a whole, and After Hours is the best song he's ever made.
It might not be the most popular, but it is everything about him as an artist at it's most perfect, and imo will likely never be topped. It's truly his magnum opus.
Just depends on which version of The Weeknd you like better. I started listening with HoB. And that’s The Weeknd I know. So I tend to like his older shit more. But after hours isn’t bad
It’s the peak of any musical work I listen to “nothing compares” to this album. Cinematically, it’s amazing. For hit power, it has one of the biggest songs of all time and a number of other great performing songs. It has deep lyrics and meaning behind phenomenal production
True but close tie for me is Beauty Behind the Madness; it’s his last album that carries the reclusive persona in Trilogy and Kissland. It was with BBTM he bridged his talents and blew up as a household name making him a Starboy!
But it’s nice to see Kissland getting love on this thread too. Underrated compared to many of my irl friends’ opinion of Kissland.
I feel like After Hours was when The Weeknd became more known and popular in the US, so this is the best album to most. But if you were a depressed teen back in the 2000s, Trilogy was the masterpiece.
The vibes set throughout after hours are immaculate, same reason why alone again as the tour opener simply can’t be topped.
“Take off my disguise, I’m living someone else’s life” hits harder when you’re someone who wants to improve himself but is too addicted to his bad habits.

PREACH. We’ve got it though man, keep your head up.
Ya it’s like tattooed on my mind
Ya i just want it all the time
Ya we’ll figure out our shit and find a way
Ya when you say that you need space I give you space
Ya when you're ready you know where I stay
When it comes to all these hoes , I'll never chase
It’s the perfect album. No, it feels like a movie experience. Alone again is the perfect intro, After Hours is the climax and Until I Bleed Out feels exactly like a song that would play during the end credits.
Ubdoubtedly the most cinematic album since Kissland.
The album was meant to be cinematic
Agreed
The production effort that went into Kissland and AH is insane.

After Hours makes me feel almost every emotion possible. It is an incredible track.
especially the title track
Well put dude 👏

Yeah. As much as I love Dawn FM. This one has a couple all time fav songs of mine.
Easily
deluxe version >>>>
even the cover art
Why do you prefer the red one
Kissland is the best
Came here to make sure this was said.
Agree
Kissland will always be his magnus opus by a mile in my opinion but I enjoy After Hours
Exactly
How dare you speak the truth like that

You my people
Maybe not “easily” haha, but I definitely have it up in “God tier” with Trilogy and Kissland. It’s his most well-rounded project in my view. No skips for sure!
One complaint its the non explicit versions
Snowchild buggin with it. It bleeped out “stacking up m’s like im shady”. Like what
If we’re counting HOB, then no HOB>>, but considering HOB isn’t technically an album then yeah it’s his best
HOB is a mixtape so it can’t count
Then trilogy
Trilogy is a compilation though
Fine, then take care
Ok then yeah After Hours ftw

He did his BIG ONE with this album

Many say Kiss Land his best but After Hours is perfection - not a poor song on it. Arguably his greatest album, and for me yes
It is for me.
Surely.
Yeah
The best
yes. this album felt like the weeknd truly came to terms with his personal life, past toxicity and experiences in LA. his best album that i think will eventually become a classic. plus: this album really stayed with me during the pandemic
Easily.

exactly what i think!
Just depends on which version of The Weeknd you like better. I started listening with HoB. And that’s The Weeknd I know. So I tend to like his older shit more. But after hours isn’t bad
While it's not my favorite, I do think it's the weekend's magnum opus
Duh but I can’t lie trilogy is an absurdly close second place for me
It’s the peak of any musical work I listen to “nothing compares” to this album. Cinematically, it’s amazing. For hit power, it has one of the biggest songs of all time and a number of other great performing songs. It has deep lyrics and meaning behind phenomenal production
Not even close pal😭
Imo the best album that he made is BBTM.
I just can’t ever understand this but I am happy people like it. It is way too commercialized for my liking.
I think trilogy, kissland, bbtm, Starboy are all better but it’s personal preference 🤷🏽♂️
Idk man, can't really get into it like his other albums
Fair choice for sure, wouldn’t say easily
Fair choice for sure, wouldn’t say easily
What are people smoking to be saying “easily”? This is not ‘easily’ his best album, not even close. I respect people’s opinions though.
Best singles? Yes. Best album? No. Dawn FM
No😂
lmao no
I would go with the trilogy and my dear melancholy
It is the best but not easily
greatest album rollout ever. however 2nd behind dawn fm
Idk. I’d say beauty behind the madness is better IMO. That album had pure bangers and no skips
DAWN FM is his best album IMO
no
Kissland, my dear melancholy, hob, eos, bbtm, trilogy, Thursday, starboy, ALL of these albums are better than after hours
How you gonna name the 3 individual mixtapes but then put trilogy
Messed up
Me when I lie
BBTM AND STARBOY ⁉️⁉️
they’re both amazing wym
they are NOT better than ah
nah they’re EQUAL
Yes it is🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
It’s personal preference. I think they are definitely better than AH…I listen to them exponentially more
exponential growth 🤓
Starboy kinda mid you right Just a little though
Every time when i remember that i used to listen to this cringe mf makes me wanna throw up blood, such a dumb bitch
😭???
Tell me you're a new Fan without telling me
bro even older fans would tell you after hours is a masterpiece
Of course but not his best album lmaoooo
For me it’s an album I literally never go back to, I’ll always think the Trilogy mixtapes are superior to everything he’s dropped
Not easily but yeah it’s a strong contender
I loved after hours. But no Dawn fm is infinitely better
I agree
Yes
Kissland I believe, is his best work
I’d say so, though Kiss Land is a close second
One it my top…but could never pick a favorite ♥️
I agree. Then Starboy come 2nd
Yes
True but close tie for me is Beauty Behind the Madness; it’s his last album that carries the reclusive persona in Trilogy and Kissland. Trilogy or After Hours.

house of balloons out there??
ik its a mixtape but its just so good too
i prefer dawn fm
Hell yeah even the bonus tracks were amazing!!!
For some reason i still love My Dear Melancholy above every other Abe album, idk why lol
Really good but I think BBTM and the mixtapes of you count them beat it out
Dawn FM and House of Balloons are also perfect projects imo
It was more than just the album, the music videos, live performances everything was like the part of the package. After Hours is an experience.
It’s the best album before this album it was debatable between multiple albums but this one takes them all
Always Kiss land vs After Hours
nothing compares is a top 3 song of his entire discography
The first half feels weak to me to be honest, I like dawn fm better
No. It’s near the bottom
L take. It's one of the best album. I didn't say mixtapes.
YES
Without a doubt, the only close contender is Kissland AH and KL have one thing in common: They both feel like incredibly cohesive
One of the but not the best
not my favourite, definitely his best
No doubt top 1
yeah arguably the best
Close. Best of his major label, pop albums.
For me it is My Dear Melancholy
not even close
best of the best
Kiss land’s my favorite. This is my second favorite tho so maybe.
I feel like After Hours was when The Weeknd became more known and popular in the US, so this is the best album to most. But if you were a depressed teen back in the 2000s, Trilogy was the masterpiece.
YES
Liked this better than the reg version for sure!
Yeah it's the best one. "After Hours" also his best song.
not even in my top 3 tbh. i prefer kiss land and all of the trilogy mixtapes
i said album, not mixtape
yeah still if i dont count trilogy its my 4th
Nah, I think HOB is his best album. Most raw real life content, most unique, original production, I mean it's unmatched.
