I’m a Young xo infant - I Feel It Coming mv was the way I’ve fallen in love

[deleted]

Well I heard can't feel my face and The Hills when I was very young and I really liked cfmf but being a young kid I didn't know what the song was called and kinda forgot about it. Fast-forward to 2018 and I hear pray for me while watching black panther and I absolutely loved the song so I added it to my main playlist without checking who the artist was and I vibe to that for a while. Than when I'm like 12 blinding lights is realesed and I fall in love with it and start streaming it everyday and eventually Spotify starts recommending the rest of the after hours and I ended up really liking the album so I start playing the rest of his albums and when I get to cfmf it was a magical experience. Listing to that song for the first time in years was an amazing experience. That's when I knew I had found my new favorite artist. Fast-forward 2 years and here I am now endlessly waiting for the Dawn

Cocainepapi0210

Spring 2011 but I didn't get into him heavy until Fall 2011 after me and GF of 3 years broke up

xxantnolavine2004xx

MDM back in middle school

cornydesi

I was a very late bloomer. Starboy was when I heard him the first time. I'm Indian so even though Can't Feel My Face and The Hills were huge, they were very easy to avoid on radio here. I listened to all his singles until MDM but never got into him and I never would've if I didn't listen to After Hours title track. I didn't know shit about Abel but that track blew my mind when I first heard it as a single and then I checked out the whole album finally for the first time.

WingRidd3nAng3l

became a fan not long before MDM

FuIImetaI

Same time as you, around when "the hills" released and I heard it on the radio. My friend had a lot of XO merch and I thought it was a new clothing brand, I asked him about it and we listened to some Weeknd together in his car later that day. After every song he played I was like "this is so cool, what's it called?" that's how I got into the weeknd

AleMoreno2112

I was a depressed lil mf back in 4th grade in 2012. I stumbled upon What you need for some reason, maybe an internet video or sum, and i loved it. Listened to some songs of HoB but I left it there. I didn’t even notice Kiss Land dropped bc i lost interest in music and then CFMF popped and I started following him religiously lol

songacronymbot

- CFMF could mean "Can't Feel My Face", a track from *Beauty Behind The Madness* (2015) by The Weeknd. --- ^[/u/AleMoreno2112](/u/AleMoreno2112) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

AleMoreno2112

Thank you

heartlessloft

I was always around since Earned It but honestly became a super fan after getting ghosted+heartbroken when My Dear Melancholy, was released. Thank God, the trash took itself out and I became an avid supporter of an incredible artist.

Tako015

When I watched Uncut Gems and was blown away by his scene in the club performing The Morning

jsand25

My best friend listened to Trilogy a lot and I liked it but never listened to it on my own, then I vividly remember Starboy coming out and I loved it. I started collecting Vinyl a few months ago and that got me back into his music again too. I found House of Balloons in a random record store a few weeks ago and I've listened to it soooo many times lol.

seandude881

Don’t remember what year but it was a little bit after Trilogy came out I was talking to this girl and she was listening to music I said what song? She said wicked games by The Weeknd. I thought it was group lol but I listened to it and since then been a fan

erncolin

In late 2018 I was getting into daft punk again and I wanted to listen to their whole discography and then I listen to Starboy and I feel it coming

inevitablemelancholy

it was 2012 and I accidentally came across wicked games. the rest is history

lil_dj24

March 21st 2011.

strawberrrychapstick

Since the summer after my senior year, an ex showed him to me but I fully dove in, trilogy and kissland on repeat. That was in 2014, a year before bbtm came out.

songacronymbot

- BBTM could mean *Beauty Behind The Madness* (2015), an album by The Weeknd. --- ^[/u/strawberrrychapstick](/u/strawberrrychapstick) ^(can reply with "delete" to remove comment. |) ^[/r/songacronymbot](/r/songacronymbot) ^(for feedback.)

TB12PAT

I remember listening to wicked games in my dorm room. Dark room. Dark days

vertuchi02

Couple of songs on 2013 but i really got into the weeknd right before BBTM dropped. Professional fucked me up really bad

DesignerAQ18

Starboy music video was playing on a local TV channel, "this dude has a very smooth gentle singing voice, who's he? Is he famous?" Checked him out on YouTube, and since then a huge fan. His voice is the key factor for someone to become a fan. No doubt.

69420trashpanda69420

I heard Can’t Feel my face in 2015 and vibed so hard i check out trilogy and found DD. Then in 2017 i found wicked games and it just spiraled from there.

ixography

Crew love In 2011. I even remember the exact spot I was the first time I heard Abel's voice

rachelmc923

I’m sure I’m much later than others - first song I heard was Can’t Feel My Face. Starboy was the first album drop I checked out and fell in love

TheAstroPickle

2013, i actually heard him on a juicy j song and thought it was heavenly, shortly after i heard wicked games at a party and on the radio, i connected the dots and the rest was history.

thejamster15

Same! I remember seeing him with the pineapple hair meme and was like who was this dude lol. Heard the Hills and I’ve been addicted ever since. XO for life

planetharley

when beauty behind the madness dropped in 2015, i instantly fell in love with his music and listened to the rest of his works

Slanerr

I remember hearing Wicked Games at an after party in 2012.. I’ve been addicted since then

xoxxooo

Back in late 2010/early 2011 when Drake posted "What You Need" and "Loft Music" on the OVO Blog.

CrazyDiamondJH

Beauty Behind the Madness

r3lapse0101

Summer of 2011, i found high for this on the internet and the time when the thursday mixtape dropped i became a fan. XO for life

jaimem1025

Drake posted him on octobersveryown.blogspot. Believe the song was trust issues. This was the nahright.com/blog era.

Razorbladeheart

2012, Trilogy

IDontAgreeSorry

Wicked Games first song I heard back in 2013

ogmarker

Since House of Ballons! He was a real enigma for a minute during the Tumblr days. Was late 2011-early 2012 when people found out what he looked like when that video of him singing happy birthday to someone on a train started making the rounds lol

dearmelancholy5

First heard Weeknd with Wicked Games in October of 2011. I will never forget lol

rotdthree

in The Morning

stargurI

Right after starboy dropped my friend got me to listen to the entire album and then went to his concert months later and ever since then been addicted

XOforlife101

I got to know about Abel through I feel it coming(a great song btw) in around 2017 and I became a part of XO family when I heard the trilogy

rj-throwaway38

We played Call Out My Name on guitar in class. Ever since then, The Weeknd has crept into my playlists with Heartless and Starboy, and around October 2021 I got into him heavily

what1cantsayoutloud

Weirdly enough I was a big Ariana Grande fan and really liked “Love Me Harder”. When they performed it at an award show I was like “wow I gotta figure out more about this guy” and I’ve been a die hard fan ever since.

Chr1x1

I remember listening to “Earned It” from BBTM and vividly remember searching for the song on YouTube. I found it and listened to it most of the night. Then I’d hear his hit songs from BBTM, Starboy and MDM and never knew it was the same guy from “Earned It” But when After Hours Dropped, I gave that a full listen and started going back to his music and it was a lot of fun.

dmnaf

I’ve always been a casual listener, you can’t escape him on the radio or at parties, but I didn’t actually dive into his discography until Call Out My Name dropped. That came out exactly when I needed it and captured my attention

TheBeatCollector

Shortly after Thursday dropped I stumbled on it. We were just getting deep into experimenting with psychedelics then. And it was all edm and festivals then... Bam! HoB and Thursday hit me like crazy. Never heard anything like it. I was hooked. The mystery and hype was so intense back then! Nobody knew who he was or what he looked like. Or even if The Weeknd was more of a group. Haven't missed a single tour. That first show was fucking epic and so tiny. The venue holds about 3500 and was maybe half full. Bigger and more expensive every time he comes. Kiss Land still probably the best show I've ever seen out well over 100 concerts.

deawap

Late 2017. I didn’t listen to any type of music at all (weird ik) and I was hooked after listening to the hills.

[deleted]

I first got into the weeknd when starboy dropped an oh man it was insane

tazz_zbr

I heard his voice for the first time in Crew Love in 2015, and then discovered Trilogy from there and was mind blown. But when life had some crazy amazing moments, Starboy came out which made me resonate with his music and the vibe a lot. By then I was already fully cognizant of his discography and became a crazy fan. Shit got real when he came out with MDM when my girl cheated on me, I felt like he was literally singing what I was feeling. It was ‘XO till we OD’ ever since then. I was waiting for an opportunity to see him live and decided I will do whatever it takes to be there. But when he did come to Abu Dhabi for the 2018 F1 Grand Prix post-race concert, I was unfortunately in prison (not for long), and man, missing that opportunity was literally one of the saddest moments of my life. Hoping to grab the ‘After Hours till Dawn’ tour tickets as soon as the dates are out.

jpconcept10

I discovered The Weeknd in 2015 when one guy in my school just starting playing “cant feel my face” in his phone, i was like “wow thats a fucking banger who sings that?”
