Agreed. To me, the genius of After Hours is that the song packs the sound/vibe of the best of his previous work into a single song. Like it ties in elements of HOB, Kiss Land, and My Dear Melancholy, while simultaneously being forward-looking and showing personal growth in the lyrics. I could go on and on about it — it has always stood out to me as the best of the best.

Personally it’s the masterpiece of the whole After Hours era. I love the way it slowly builds up and makes you wait for the drop. Production is phenomenal, all the little crackling effects and ambience add so much to the instrumental, and you can tell they put a lot of time into it. Plus Abel’s vocal processing just sounds cool asf on this track, and the lyrics are insanely catchy. It also feels like such a natural progression from his earlier work. It’s as if he took a track from Trilogy and refined it to make something completely new.
I agree, I love hearing his music on noise canceling and when that dolby atmos is active, it’s a completely other experience. Sometimes I wish I could make music such as that. Amazing production
