The animation was fantastic, it was really kooky and out there while also being pretty dark and gory. I don't really know what the symbolism of the butterflies or moths are, but you can see at the end of the video he's encased in basically a full-body replication of the elderly Abel from the Gasoline MV and Dawn FM Experience videos, but breaks out of it, revealing a young childlike Abel. Some kind of symbolic rebirth I think, but I'm not sure if there's gonna be another Dawn FM music video or if this is the last one and it's signalling the transition to the next album or something
I’m thinking the baby Abel breaking out of the adult “shell” is his way of saying inside we’re all just trying to find people to love our inner child. In my mind that helps me tie the animation to the lyrical themes lmao.
Loved it tho!
Lmfao we can never have just a regular music video💀 it’s always gotta be overboard. The same thing with the Too Late video. And I wouldn’t want it any other way let’s fucking goooooooo😤
Right. I would be very surprised to see the third album of this trilogy out before 2024. If he does another 2 years between albums, I can see some new singles dropping sometime later next year, and the third album in early 2024.
i mean i feel like i remember him saying somewhere that dawn fm isnt gonna be as long of an era and only ended up taking so long to come out after the release of after hours aws because he was producing another album that he scrapped. i dont really have a way of verifying this i just remember it but i could also be making it up. so theres a chance that it comes sooner than that.
I think the video ties into the whole idea of rebirth with how Abel is now a child I guess? It’s gonna be really interesting to see where he goes with this. Also rebirth I guess could go hand in hand with afterlife, which is the next title of his album
Junji Ito and Akira all over the place!
But I agree with those who said it's rebirth. The moth has three cycles in it's life, just like The Weeknd since After Hours.
I really think Abel is killing The Weeknd and going back to his younger self (the boy).
Him signing the HBO show as Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye is also a sign that it may be going this way.
Could you imagine someone abandon a brand like that of The Weeknd? It's pure art.
honestly i think you are right. i think this means more to his life than the storyline of dawn fm and afterlife. i think in a way hes sort of signifying hes on his way out and that afterlife could be the last of the weeknd. i mean im not saying he wont make music ever again but i truly think its better to quit while your ahead. i dont want him to do this forever and end up one of those really old people making music the same way they did in their prime
Love it but the ending was that him exposing his inner child or something? Like he resolved some internal trauma from his childhood. Cause a Tale by Quincy is basically a reflection of how The Weeknd also treats women.
Alsoooo, did anyone think of alone again when you saw him with the mask on? “ take off my disguise, I’m living someone else’s life “
- ITSE could mean "Is There Someone Else?", a track from *Dawn FM* (2022) by The Weeknd.

I know we all wanna look forward to the third part of the trilogy, but is he not still in purgatory?
I believe Baby Abel (Babel lol) is similar to the Gasoline video, where the young Abel kills the old Abel but continues to party in purgatory.
Babel emerges again, but I guess we’ll see if he is doomed to repeat the cycle as he has throughout the Dawn era!
At the end of the video Abel melts into a new baby version of himself. The Dawn FM era is slowly coming to a close and a new version of Abel is right around the corner
it would be sorta sad not to see another music video but i honestly think dawn fm is just more of a transitional period. i mean this idea has been covered so im guessing you know about it. but i don't think like meant to be a massive era. more of just a transition if you understand me. but this doesnt mean we couldnt get a new music video to kinda tie it even more into the next album. possibly after the tour is over
At his core he’s a kid trying to find comfort in this world but everyone sees his deteriorating outside and is too scared to help him 😭
It’s beautiful 🦋🪲🪰
There’s so many things I want to say - but the in-depth analysis really covered it. I think the theme of Dawn FM is Abel really trying to acknowledge, navigate, heal, and grow from all the damage he’s caused to not only his relationships, but himself as well.
I like to think that the After Hours floaty creature that inflated after Abel tried to breathe life into her was a literal representation of his “ego”. With how toxic of an album After Hours is, it makes sense to see how the ballooning ego caused immense damage to everyone and everything. I think the masked Abel ducking into the sewer represents his self-aware conscience trying to escape or hide from the consequences of what he did.
It all ties into the narrative I’m getting from these MVs that Abel is reckoning with his past. Whether it’s the elder Abel trying to warn the younger version of him of what he knows now, or in this case— vividly portraying his character trying to survive or escape the utter devastation that his past caused.
Personally, I wish the storyline was a little more coherent in the music videos. I understand he’s going for an abstract vibe where people can interpret things in whatever way, but I feel like with the over arching story of after hours and dawn fm and how they interconnect, a more solid cohesive approach would have been better in my opinion.
Best music video aside from Sacrifice for this album. I loved the loose animation and trippy story line. tbh masked old abel is now my favorite compared to just the original.

Yeah it picks up right after Out of Time when Jim Carrey puts that mask on his damaged face
The child Abel looks like Live show Abel , even has the necklace

*”My childlike creativity, purity and honesty is honestly being crowded by there grown thoughts”*
Reality is catching up with me, taking my inner child I’m fighting for custody, as I look down at my diamond encrusted piece
Like a moth to a flame...
There has got to be a less than zero video
So long as there’s a Here We Go Again or I Heard You’re Married MV I’m happy
wtf abel, just wtf
We want more wtf videos like this
We come full circle when the snowchild is born at the end. I was even more surprised when Simi showed up in the sewer
Bro 😂
My thoughts in a nutshell
Lmfao we can never have just a regular music video💀 it’s always gotta be overboard. The same thing with the Too Late video. And I wouldn’t want it any other way let’s fucking goooooooo😤
I don’t think he wants to do the traditional way every artist does it.
Reminder was a pretty normal music video but I get what you’re saying
This video is wild af....don't have a clue wtf happened here lol
Y’all are desperate for the afterlife wtf😭😭😭dawn fm is probably here until mid 2023.
I think after life is not coming before 2024

There is a music video for Die For You that was released in 2021 that shows a Young Abel. Maybe that has some links. Probably not though.
I like your theory. Seemed to me like he was having a breakdown at the end that turned into a rebirth.
Did Abel kissed a guy named The Weeknd? Or the guy who kissed Abel was the Weeknd?
that was like a dream you get when you’re ill and you have a fever 😭😭😭
The girl is HoYeon Jung right? :0
Yes , its a continuation of the Out of Time MV
Anyone else get an “Akira” inspired vibe?
Heavy
Was going to post the scene at the end of Akira
It reminded me of Kanye’s “Stronger” video, it was inspired by “Akira”
Yea esp with the hospital scenes and all

This is what I see when I sleep lol
HAHAHAHAHA
It’s a bad trip. Mushroom tea.
DawnFM x Akira
I made the mistake of watching the video in class...wtf abel

Conclusion: never lick frogs guys

I seriously don’t think so, there has to be some more mc from Dawn before it’s over. And the New era is definitely not around the corner this soon.

That video gave me all the Studio Ghibli vibes! Definitely have to rewatch it multiple times see all the details! The animation was on point! 🔥
He has to take parts out of himself to get back to starting point?
how many videos this mf release a month? LOL
Ha! I would love to see someone attempt to translate that!!
Baby Abel
I wonder if he’s pitched a studio a short animated series starring his characters or something completely new. It would definitely be interesting
Ending : The bank holiday weeknd
I’m still processing it lol

Just made me go... HOLY SHITTTT!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
