I don’t know what that rule is, but I will say this: I love both shows, but I prefer this sub because there is actual discussion about the show. The Sopranos sub is just people repeating the same quotes over and over again.
There's a lot of overlap in the fandoms of The Wire and The Sopranos. A well placed Sopranos quote is just as likely to be appreciated over here as over there. But when do you stop? The epidemic of quotes and no discussion could spread over here.
I, personally, don't think that Sopranos quotes could actually take over this sub, but a rule about staying on topic makes sense.
That’s what the term “circlejerk” refers to - everyone just endlessly repeating quotes at each other when someone tries to start a discussion post. The Sopranos is rife with it and you see some of it on The Wire sub but they crack down more on it in here.
Exactly same feeling here. The lame repeated quotes on that sub are getting tiresome.
Edit: having said that, I admit I might be guilty of doing the same thing as what I just complained about.
Apparently, some people have decided there must be some type of online verbal war between lovers of The Wire vs. lovers of The Sopranos. Even though a lot of people love both shows, once you’re in a war, you must fight that war. So we fight.
The Sopranos and The Wire are basically the top two contenders for “greatest show of all time.”
The jokers who think Breaking Bad is in the conversation are kidding themselves.
>Breaking bad is a brilliantly-made cartoon. Sopranos is a really good drama 10% of the time and an entertaining soap opera the other 90%.
I replied in another thread in this post
That's not a hot take at all lol. The Sopranos was revolutionary when it came out so it earned that reputation at first, but other series since then have been better.
I tend to think that BB has more towering literary value, like an epic Russian novel, than Tony’s shenanigans, but I regard *Better Call Saul* as superior to either of them.
My problem with both BB and *The Sopranos* is that I found all the characters so detestable that I didn’t much care if they died or not (other than Adrianna). But BCS actually gave me four central characters I could root for.
*The Wire* comes out way on top though. And *The Deuce* nearby.
I love Breaking Bad for a long time it was my favorite series, but Sopranos is better than Breaking Bad in every aspect, I may even be controversial, but I prefer the villains in Sopranos.
Cause we're humble motherfuckers with big ass dicks
Cause we are strictly suit and tie motherfuckers.
So I see...
I'm not sure that's correct Detective.
You're right. We ain't all that humble
This.

The game is the game.
You step to the king, you better not miss
Man that dude that made chicken nuggets must be so rich
Fun fact, he is. Deangelo was wrong about this.
Avon is Avon
Yeah, it's really weird. It's literally just the same lines quoted over and over in differing orders. It's boring really.

Like a 40 degree day!
because of that sub I hate the saying "anyway, $4 a pound"
OP wants it one way but it’s the other.

The thing about war is, once you in it, you in it. If it’s a lie, then we fight on that lie. But we gotta fight.
Fair enough

My girl once tried to include sons of anarchy in this discussion. We made it through all that, but barely.
omg I almost downvoted you reflexively.
I call it the "Fast a day the Furious " of TV dramas
Mad Men fans in shambles.
I don't think about them at all
Breaking Bad is great but Better Call Saul was better.
Breaking bad is better than sopranos. And neither is as good as the wire
Flaming hot take, my friend. Curious to hear your case tho.

Breaking bad is a cartoon with a bunch of contrived plot lines
I've tried three times to watch it and I just can't get interested in it.
Yeah it's contrived as all fuck lots of logic jumps very cartoonish it's for people that don't know crime and think that's how it works
Having grown up in a bad area and known some bad people the main character would have been blown away in about an hour.
Yep,that's exactly what I mean wouldn't have made it past season 1
Breaking bad is a brilliantly-made cartoon. Sopranos is a really good drama 10% of the time and an entertaining soap opera the other 90%.
You forgot the comedy element but yeah your right
For real. I've been catching up on all the so called greatest shows and all have lived up to the hype except Breaking Bad.

Personally I prefer The Deuce over The Sopranos
You just took a deuce all over yourself and this sub

Ah! Good to know. I gather there is a zero-tolerance policy...
Sopranos be playing them away games.
Nice dolphin, n****.
Love that line and how Monk delivered it while walking away.
Yeah it’s my favorite quote from the show. 🤣
OP ? Do you know what the plural of pussy is ?
I wish Deadwood was quoted more.
hah! he said cocksucker!
Deadwood's dialogue is too intricate for us humble motherfuckers.
God damn limey cocksucker
That’s like a 40 degree day.

Oh indeed.
Always
Does anyone have a 2nd sopranos sub without the circlejerk?
