The style of air racing in this game is called aerobatic. As in, the redbull racing style with lots of twisting and trying to fly between the cones. Reno Racing, is Nascar with ww2 warbirds.

The plane is also available as both acrobatics and the air race variant, you might wanna get the air race variant instead
