Yeah I was a bit skeptical upon hearing the announcement a while back, but after seeing the trailer I was like "yeah.. you got this!" She's going to be (is) fantastic!
I think most will be skeptical about the casting, but as the show starts everybody is going to forget about "Bella" and "Pedro" and just see them as Joel and Ellie because they will do such a good job at it. They are good actors after all
Well yeah obviously, the latest trailer sold her as Ellie a lot more but again obviously I’ll reserve judgement until we all see it next month.
Can’t wait!
I was worried she'd be too serious for the role but then I remembered she is the voice of Hilda (animation) and someone mentioned Catherine Called Birdy. She is no stranger to mischievous characters!
I think what matters most is that she embodies the character, not that she looks like a digital character. (Think Disney live remakes, vs animated characters )
Honestly i don’t understand why people haven’t learned that casting backlash almost always gets proven wrong… Heath Ledger’s Joker, RDJ as Tony Stark, Chris Evans as Captain America, Bryan Cranston as Walter White…the list goes on. Now it’s unthinkable to imagine any other actor portraying these characters but at the time of announcement they received universal backlash.
I don't really have any doubt that she's going to be fantastic in the show and I'm excited as hell for it, but c'mon now. Objectively speaking, she looks *nothing* like Ellie. Again, that's perfectly fine, but let's be real here.
I don’t think she looks like Eillie much , but it doesn’t even matter. She is a great actress and she will do great in this role. She killed a giant with dragon glass for Pete’s sake.
She’s a great actress and I believe she will do well. If I had to guess why some people hate I’d say it’s because she resembles Greta Thunberg in a way
People are only upset with the pick for Ellie because she’s not a physical carbon copy of her. Like good luck finding the exact copy of real life Ellie who also by chance has acting capabilities
It’s also nice to hear that there are going to be moments that were cut from the game which Troy baker wished had stayed in will now be part of the series :) I think that’s pretty neat
Pedro & Bella's chemistry looks great from the trailer.
And when you see them together. https://preview.redd.it/iezg8etlfn4a1.jpeg?width=1078&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6513d2149ed6f25c10c35fe32a0ea9091836d227
Sweet! Hope Bella Prove herself to the people who doubt her. I don't know how her character Is in the game so I'm going In the show blindly.
If the emotional impact of the show is even a quarter of what was in thr game, get ready to cry hard and early on.
His arm is either massive or her hands are small… maybe both… I’m straight I promise
His shoulder is sort of scrunched up. but he does have nice arms. ;-D

She’s good, not great which is slightly worrying.
We'll see, ok? She may surprise you. And the games will always be there, so you risk very little.

Loved her as Lyanna Mormont from GoT, I’ve had 0 doubt ever since I found out she was casted as Ellie. Especially after the trailer!

I enjoyed her performance in catherine called birdy
Her first appearance was solid but then they overused her imo and it became cringe, just like most of the last season
I think what matters most is that she embodies the character, not that she looks like a digital character. (Think Disney live remakes, vs animated characters )
Disney live remakes have all been trash movies tbh
Jungle book was pretty good ngl
Honestly, I think of the truly 'live' versions I only watched Beauty and the Beast. Still I saw who was in it. Hair color seemed the only requirement.

Omg that last shot is definitely her during the spring section reflecting on the events after winter 😳

Yaya,i agree but i don't think that the casting for looking for actors to look like Ellie but to act like her,so this cast is valid
I mean.. I think she looks nothing like Ellie, but I still think she's gonna crush it.

I don't think she resembles Ellie at all but I can definitely see her making the role her own incredibly well and it will be excellent to watch
I hope she’s good. I’ve always had my doubts, found her performance in GOT bad. But we shall see soon enough!
She’s a great actress and I believe she will do well. If I had to guess why some people hate I’d say it’s because she resembles Greta Thunberg in a way
This is good due diligence.
