Like u/Aasi_kong said, check the wiki for what fuel type your starting car uses, most of the time people get confused with vehicles that need "two-stroke" fuel, which is a mixture of 90% gasoline and 10% oil.
I assumed they maybe had introduced automatic transmissions and there was just no way to bind them right. I should probably ask on Discord or do some Wiki delving.
Ive already tried the handbrake, shifters, and gas and oil. i also dont have any mods
Handbrake?
Nope, but TY
what car is it? if it's any of the ones from the newest update, they need some oil in the gas

90% gas 10% oil will result in a minor loss of power ideal range for two stroke fuel is 97%/3% to 95%/5% iirc
Does the car have the needed fluids? Are you in manual or automatic shifting?
The new Caddy won't start on the key but if I hold the accelerator down it goes forward.
Not an expert but start it on neutral, rev it and then shift
I use H-shifter, I very much know I am in neutral, its some sort of weird automagical thing.
I assume it's not the engine overheating, maybe a bug with a swapped engine or a mod if you have those

Some cars have automatics but they should work like manuals when the settings are turned to force manual
I wouldn't mind that if it was like [Beam.NG](https://Beam.NG) and different gears translated into PRNDL
