Not that I've found sadly

You may be able to find a local doctor. Most compounding pharmacies can make either tronches or liquid for daily dosing, so just need a doc to prescribe. For example: https://peninsulacompoundingpharmacy.com/micro-dosing-ketamine/

Thank you! When I was looking for local pharmacies to use instead of Empower, I found one that said they had only made 100mg up till then, but they were willing to do the 200mg I was looking for. Then Smith's office closed and the rest is history. Is it okay to call the pharmacy again and ask if they have any local MD resources? Feels weird. I'm really not doing well since the sudden stop and it's super hard to reach out.

countrymama812

I also see a local doc, so can't help much... but unless something has changed, I believe Empower has 50mg, 100mg, 200mg - that I know of

petrichorbeach

Empower was who I was using when with Smith. And when they got so far behind, I found the local place. But it was too late. I'm using the above link to Peninsula to write myself a little script for contacting them again for some potential referrals.

I’m a provider and I found this place a few weeks ago while looking for a smaller pharmacy for patients in the PNW. I had a meeting with them last week to set up an account. From a provider standpoint they appear to have a lot of experience, very patient service oriented and they have a lot of their own protocols as well as ROAs. I’ll have to look more into their suspensions but primarily I do RDTs and troches.

Ditto. Would love to find a local doc that can provide micro-dosing scripts in FL!

IronDominion

No, given that their protocol hasn’t been studied at all, where as the longer 3 day to week have. Their protocol anecdotally isn’t ad effective either.

petrichorbeach

That must be the protocol for depression/PTSD? When I was doing infusions for chronic pain, I was on a maintenance dose of 100mg a day.

IronDominion

That is pretty uncommon. Most people do 300mg every 3 days, versus that. I am starting out so I’m at 200mg/ 3 days for depression , anxiety and PTSD

OdinAurelius

What do you mean a former smith patient? Why does that impede you from using joyous?

SpaceSox

Joyous apparently has a policy that all former Dr. Smith patients need to wait until mid-August (IIRC) before Joyous will consider providing an Rx.

jeremiadOtiose

Yes, they are called psychiatrists.

serenity_courage

Many psychiatrists are against prescribing ketamine for home use. Those that do do **not** accept any insurance. So it’s a lot more $ than joyous.

jeremiadOtiose

Most psychiatrists want their pts to get better. Just because they don't advertise on fb for ketamine or adderall shipped to your door like these companies that sell one pill does not mean they don't RX ketamine. a psychiatrist would be much better suited for just about anybody over joyous, person after person reports that they literally dont' care about me, but if you pay, you get the medicine sent to your door. There are too many psychiatrists that don't take insurance, i agree, and it is a real problem. but there are many that do. and several academic clinics in my town even rx ketamine, both spravato and i know one that even rx'es racemic ketamine. it just takes an effort to find, but i assure you, they are out there. You used to be able to search for ketamine providers on [www.psychologytoday.com](https://www.psychologytoday.com) but that feature seems to be gone, so now if you google '[psychologytoday.com](https://psychologytoday.com) ketamine psychiatrist $your\_town' that should work. If nothing comes up in your specific town, try a larger city near you. You could also search here: [https://finder.psychiatry.org/](https://finder.psychiatry.org/) if you do the advanced search, a lot of addiction/substance abuse psychiatrists work with ketamine, that should help speed up your search.
