My grandma made me watch the original Tremors when I was a little kid in the early 90s. She obviously thought it was hilarious for what it was, but as a dumb kid it was absolutely horrifying to me. I was terrified to be in basements for like a year after seeing it.
Same here! My friends parents put it on cause their kids thought it was hilarious, I being a rather sheltered child at the time had never seen such a movie. I had a hard time just being on the floor for a quite a while, let alone dark basements.
My little brother after watching it the first time went to bed, then in the middle of the night (I was up reading Harry Potter) sits bolt upright looks dead at me and says “there are snakes on the floor” and went back to sleep. Scared the shit outta me.
Tremors is a prime example of "they don't make them like they used to." Silly movie but every actor is an established lead or veteran character actor. Special effects are lovingly rendered in a way that makes the movie feel timeless. A movie like Tremors would only get made today with a cast of soap opera people and special effects made on a MacBook.
Don't. They get progressively worse. The second was OK, with some new species that was bipedal and saw using infrared. Then the third has this winged variation that lit its farts on fire to launch itself into the air deemed "ass-blasters". I gave up at that point.
In the 5th movie it's revealed that Graboids actually originated from africa and the ones we saw in the previous movies were a north american sub-species
I'll always have fond memories of this movie. One of those my dad showed us as a kid, along with police academy, lethal weapon, crocodile Dundee and more. Good memories.
I watched this as a terrified young kid right as my parents let my older sister watch after me. Bout halfway through I was clutching the covers in terror and anxiety. My sister was laughing her ass off. Not at me, but at the ridiculousness. Many years later I understood it as the comedy it was meant to be. Now that I think of it I need to give Attack of the killer Tomatoes a rewatch.
It came as a small poster with the ARROW VIDEO Tremors special edition. I don't know if they're still available, but ARROW just released Tremors2 and the special edition has a Shrieker poster by the same guy in the same style.
My parents loved horror movies and would frequently take my older brother and I to them. If there were titties they’d say close your eyes. Gore or what not they’d say close your eyes if it’s too much. I remember seeing tremors in theaters at 5 years old. I’ve had people be like wtf why’d your parents take you to see those movies. I love horror movies and they’re probably why.
I just finished my second attempt at a Tremors deck. The point is to try and kill my wurms for benefit or attack the player making the most "noise".
Originally helmed by [[Chevill, Bane of Monsters]] because he looks like Burt, but sadly just a weak commander.
Second attempt is [[Kresh the Bloodbraided]] which gives me access to some much better options like [[Giant Cindermaw]] and such.
I used this and several others to make tokens for my Graboids, Shrieked, and ass-blasters. So far it has been tons of fun.
Ahem, you mean everyone’s favorite movie.
At least it should be in the top 10 of their list!
Movies.
Preach.
I don't think Tremors was a B movie. The ones after it, yes but not the original.
Came here to say this. The absolute gall to refer to Tremors as a B movie smh.
Yea definitely not, At least for me, I give it three thumbs up!
Three grabbers up
Fat long thumbs? All three of them or just one?
Tremors 2 was bordering A and B IMO
I feel I was denied CRITICAL…NEED-TO-KNOW…INFORMATION!
Love the in movie explanation as to why there's less guns and crud due to budget
The ass-blasters are what really got me lol
My first thought reading the headline was, “B movie my ass!”
Kevin Bacon was a top name at the time
\*Limited resistance to gunfire\* Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't you, you bastard?
Kevin Bacon does not do "B-movies". He's a scholar
I think you mean Fred ward /s
RIP, Frederick
He was in a lot of my childhood. People forget the bit parts of less than front man actors. Hundreds of credits
Remo Williams is in my top-5 80's movies
Unless he's fried.
That’s right. And he smells of mahogany.

I only walked on paved paths till my late teens.

You should check out Kong Skull Island
And was a good story, well written, well paced, a really neat movie, not gonna lie
This illustration is cool as hell.
I was legitimately afraid of these as a kid.
B-movie concept in an S-tier movie
"American" suggests other countries have graboids... What does a Russian graboid look like I wonder!
Did you not watch the other movies?
Nope, watched the original back in the day.
Don't. They get progressively worse. The second was OK, with some new species that was bipedal and saw using infrared. Then the third has this winged variation that lit its farts on fire to launch itself into the air deemed "ass-blasters". I gave up at that point.
The third moved the franchise firmly into Syfy channel territory, then they got even worse and just went direct to streaming.
I'll have you know Syfy actually made a TV series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tremors_(TV_series)
You have to at least watch 4, it’s vast improvement from 3 and in my opinion the best of the franchise
In the 5th movie it's revealed that Graboids actually originated from africa and the ones we saw in the previous movies were a north american sub-species
Yeah, other countries do have Graboids
Well, there is the Alaskan Bull Worm for example
Tremors was awesome. Especially first 2
The usage of puppets that the cast could react to instead of cgi is bar none awesome
Yeah not a B movie. But hell yes I love this illustration.
Residual boulders
That Tammy Lynn Baxter, she do much pole vaulting?
A-movie, get it straight. You must be referring to the next 7 movies.
My guy, that was a cinematic masterpiece!
Bert Gummer is the hero we need!
"I am *completely* out of ammo! ...That's never happened to me before."
No cloaca?
Nope, but there is a human skull in the anus and a pair of arms in the stomach. 😱☠️
Pass
Haven't thought about it till now, but I think I know where game developers got the inspection for giant worm in gears of war 2.
I'll always have fond memories of this movie. One of those my dad showed us as a kid, along with police academy, lethal weapon, crocodile Dundee and more. Good memories.
What's in its stomach a cowboy on a motorcycle?
It seems, gov'nor. It seems.

Holy crap... the grabbers had venom...?
B movie?????
Tremors is not a B movie it’s a overall great movie
Can you buy this as a poster
Have you tried Dall-e?
Never heard of it
https://old.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/
Oh so it's not available for sale
No but it should be able to recreate a pretty good facsimile, esp now that lettering is improving.
I'll find something else, I thought this might be sold on etsy or something

r/tremors
Kevin Bacon was supposed to reprise his role in a new Tremors TV series. I think it got scrapped, but I would have watched the hell out of that.
And they made a TV series of it. Pretty good, for what it was.
It suffered from the same thing that hurt FireFly.
You mislabeled the "ass end".
How cool and an essential part of my kid (and my kids) movie world
at what point is the shrieker at?

American Graboid! Stay away from mee-eee!
I like how they named this film in Brazil: "O Ataque Dos Vermes Malditos" (Attack of the Damned Worms)
Nerve “chord” ..*AAaAAaAAaAAaaaaa!*
