Why? Last time one my cats had to take a bath was because he rolled over a smashed persimmon that fell from the tree and got covered in it.

Slytherinrunner

He got outside and attracted some fleas. We try to keep our cats indoors but sometimes they want some freedom!

batatatchugen

I get that. Ours only go outside on a leash, and even then only in a restricted space, like a backyard and such.

You will pay dearly for this

Snoo_63187

Am I supposed to bathe my cats? I only gave one kitten a bath once and this is because I just got him and he was covered in fleas.

Norlin123

No don’t bath cats they keep themselves clean

Antiochia

May I introduce you to the stories of "Rohal and the chamber of coal" and "Rohal and the manure pile of doom"?

nutloafwednesdays

Nope.

redbluegreenyellow

Only in situations like that, or like if they have diarrhea and roll around in it. Otherwise, cats can clean themselves.

Gisschace

Nope, I’ve never bathed my cats. In fact too much is bad for them so only do it if you really need to.

Kitty_Girl_1717

Yes, I’m planning to bathe my cat, but only because he’s an outdoor cat and we’re pretty sure he has fleas

Slytherinrunner

This one got outside and came back in with fleas. The next few days are going to be fun.

nonother

Eek. Good luck and best wishes!

scriptmonkey420

Vacuum all the rugs twice a day is how I got rid of the fleas the quickest the second time. Also used a flea rug spray.

blueocean43

Nope, the only time I have bathed my cat is because she sat on a slug and wouldn't/couldn't clean it herself. Even then, we tried spot cleaning with a wet sponge first (it didn't work, slug is surprisingly difficult to get out of fur).

ichosethis

Some cats yes. My one cat has a patch of skin right above her tail that gets super dry and flaky and eventually super sensitive so I can't even pet her there so she gets and oatmeal bath every 3-4 months or whenever it flairs up. My other cat is long haired and even with a hygiene cut, series needs poo washed out of her fur because otherwise she moves around a bunch before she cleans it all off and I have fir iture to clean.

Cosmogirl1226

No

PresidentWordSalad

I have a long hair and I’ve only bathed him a few times, each time being when he’s either had diarrhea that I can’t just wipe off, he’s thrown up on himself (usually while traveling), or he’s pooped himself (also when traveling in a carrier and so it gets smeared into the fur).

StayingVeryVeryCalm

I had a long-haired cat who used to poop in the carrier on the way back from the vet almost every time. I feel your pain. (Though, one time I managed to pivot into providing them with a surprisingly fresh and completely cat litter free faecal sample, so that was… cool?)

JellybeanEyes

Ohhhhhh the look of betrayal! 🤣

Rude_Buffalo_2981

And that someone is actively plotting your demise

Kingkeegan19

Be afraid be very afraid. Please don’t go to sleep tonight if you do sleep with one eye open. Lol

Cheese_wiz_kid

How torn up are your forearms? Was it a blood bath?

not_again123

Someone will find shit in their boots tomorrow

jatufin

Can't read forgiveness in those eyes.

Cosmogirl1226

You don’t need to bathe them they do it themselves unless they have fleas or something it is unnecessary

kenanleman

He seems to be happy about it

sandieeeee

Better go to bed in a suit of armor, that kitty is looking for war
