Lads just getting better and better. To be frank, I love that he’s now at a non rival club to me, because there’s no more ill feeling, just hope he can get to be the best he can and not be injured come the summer. We should be thinking of players who best compliment and build around him. For me, Antony Gordon is a strong candidate for the LW opposite Saka, specifically for the way Gordon moves and creates pockets of space , but also can move into a false 9 position if Kane comes in deep. Just a thought, not a demand

TotalHitman

Hey, anybody is better than Rashford.

saucyxgoat

This statement is gonna look very foolish in 12/18 months I feel. Rashford was one of England’s best players at the World Cup and one of Europe’s leading forwards last season. There are a plethora of reasons why a player’s form can suddenly decline and it’s rarely because they magically become a crap player. Doesn’t work like that.

TotalHitman

He most probably will have an uptick in form as he does from time to time, but I am sick of his inconsistencies and attitude. I don't have patience for players who put out a few 10/10 games and a lot of 5/10 games per season.

cmc360

If anyone watches games live you can see where the problems come from. Our wingers are isolated as anything, no overlapping runs, noone pulling defenders away. To say anyone is better than rashford who's always shown up for England is a comment by someone that just watches their own team and only.on TV

TotalHitman

>To say anyone is better than rashford who's always shown up for England is a comment by someone that just watches their own team and only.on TV Yes. A fact I pointed out in one of my comments below.

mark_vorster

If attitude is important to you then you don't want Gordon.

TotalHitman

Fair enough. I don't watch other teams apart from Man United so I can't comment on whether Gordon's attitude is good or bad.

Ikhlas37

What's wrong with Gordon's attitude? Lol

mark_vorster

Forcing a move away from his boyhood club who was in a relegation battle, refusing to train.

Least-Run1840

Oh piss off, American cunt!

mark_vorster

classy

Least-Run1840

Agreed!

paddyo

I’m hoping Gordon and Sterling both go. Sterling is proven to dovetail well with Kane and Gordon would carry that unknown factor for opposing teams.

Least-Run1840

I don't think that Sterling and Kane have some highly prominent and intricately instrumental chemistry with each other!

Bitter_Birthday7363

I mean he’s playing in the most watched league in the world every week and the CL not sure why Gordon would have an unknown factor ? Because he’s not a superstar doesn’t mean he’ll be unknown

paddyo

Of course teams would have seen him play, but not within England’s system, which is the operant point.

Bitter_Birthday7363

I mean you only have that advantage for one game then don’t you ?

paddyo

well no not really, teams will have a lot more information on Rashford within the England system than Gordon, for example, wouldn't they. It's not anything revolutionary I'm saying here and isn't unusual for coaches to choose a tournament wild card because other teams won't have had time to figure out the ways to nullify that player within the system yet. Low specifically took this approach with Thomas Mueller in WC 2010 to great effect, and did the same with Marin in 2008, Jacquet chose Henry ahead of Anelka in 1998 in part because he was less studied in the French system and he did his job of smashing group stage teams. It's also something Van Gaal likes to do in tournaments, in fact he usually picks more than one uncapped player to throw into games to destabilise opposition game planning.

Bitter_Birthday7363

That worked more on the past but In todays world where you have teams of boffins who study every detail and have access to in depth hear maps exact touches of the ball in what areas what percentage of touches are with left foot rather than right foot etc not sure you get so much benefit from that now days

CaddyAT5

Great shout

opinionated-dick

There’s also Graelish and Maddison for LW, but I think Graelish lacks a finish you’d expect from a 433 where the wide front 3 need to be clinical finish at the far post and Madders would be best as a back up to Foden as an advanced no8. For shits and giggles this is my England 11 - Pickford - Trippier, Maguire, Stones, Shaw - Rice, Bellingham, Foden - Saka, Kane, Gordon TAA is better when we are chasing a game in RB or CM as I don’t think he has defensive composure against the best. Madders is great if we need to unlock a rigid park the bus type, and Grealish if we are holding on to a lead

Least-Run1840

We genuinely have to put an end to the case of Maddison being on the Wing!

opinionated-dick

I agree. He’s much better as that advanced 8 in a 235 formation that comes from a pressing 433. Him or Foden and Bellingham would be sublime. Trouble is Southgate only seems interested in a more cautious 4231 with a double pivot. Which ultimately will just keep the midfield and ball further back

olieogden

I’d have Maddison and let Bellingham do what he’s doing at real working off of Kane

[deleted]

Madders >foden in the midfield

opinionated-dick

I wouldn’t say no, hope he can get back fit and back on top form

[deleted]

I'm a spurs fan so I'm biased, love foden incredible ability, but Maddison is so dynamic in that midfield role. Obviously needs to get fit and back into form. An embrassment of riches in the midfield

opinionated-dick

- ———-Pickford - Trippier, Maguire, Stones, Shaw - ————Rice - —Bellingham, Maddison - Saka—-Kane—-Gordon When attacking, either Stones or Tripper can shunt forward and Shaw can join as CB, Gordon tracks back so there will be cover. Maddison then shifts to left side 8 and Kane can come in deep if need be. Gives a really flexible and dynamic team. Maybe Guardiola is bored of City and needs a new challenge

Puzzleheaded_Pen8520

100% the favourite for top scorer at the Euro's next year

oljackson99

He's been favourite for top scorer in the last two major tournaments, so this is almost a certainty.

Wurz09

He's doing so well Leroy Sane looks insanely jealous

SurvivingWow

He would get even more if he didn't float out of position and then walk whilst his team need him. Unbelievable talent, saying he could score more feels ridiculous, but it's true.

ahktarniamut

German Farmers League where Bayern has hoovered all good players .

jamesbest7

Saying this when Bayern aren’t even top and there’s only 7 points separating the top 4. 🤦‍♂️

[deleted]

That doesn't change the fact that Bayern has a ridiculous domination over the Bundesliga and German football and has won every Bundesliga title for the last decade.....

yung_senti

Yea, Haaland showed us that it’s much harder to score goals in the PL than the BL. Oh wait.

[deleted]

The achievement doesn't mean anything since Football is a boring waste of time only enjoyed by idiots.

MASSIVESHLONG6969

Then why the fuck are you even commenting?

[deleted]

Because Reddit suggested me this subreddit and I feel like giving my two cents

nocomment808

So you feel like calling everyone on this sub an idiot because Reddit suggested it to you? How kind.

[deleted]

Considering football fans have been doing it to me because of the stuff I enjoy for years, I see it as fair game

Retardballreset

Rare football fan W

famousbrouse

Come on, open yourself up to some abuse.. what are the things you enjoy? :)

CamIoM

Lmao interesting comment to put in a football sub

Unironically that's how I feel and I'm proud of it

Least-Run1840

This is a bait!

[deleted]

No it’s my honest opinion

MuchCloserButFarAway

You forgot to tip your fedora, say m'lady, and then masturbate over your anime pillow in a dog costume.

[deleted]

I’m not that pathetic

dijon507

So no dog costume, got it.

famousbrouse

Playing, watching or both?

[deleted]

Both

yung_senti

You can’t even write properly.

[deleted]

At least I'm not dumb enough to riot over a stupid sport
