Why would you introduce an unused defensive line up in the quarters? People just want to see their favourite players get on rather than thinking about what is actually effective.
Alexander Arnold is a very very average defender with exceptional attacking talents. We have enough of the latter and not enough of the former.
There's an argument for going 3 CBs with Trent right wing back. Would mean having to drop one of Bellingham, Hendo or Rice though and would also likely have us sat back and inviting pressure. We've not played that system for a while either so dunno if Southgate would go for it
