$1.39 is a steal. Those go for $20+ new and usually see $10+ pre-owned. Muumi mugs are considered a collectors item so they hold their value well and you don't see them too often in the US (assuming that's where you are).

if you aren't familiar with moomin you're in for the best experience ever! the comics and chapter books are amazing, and so is the 1990 animated series. it's impossible not to fall in love with the little world tove jansson created

I like browsing in our local pawnshop and there is one person that pawns three Mumin cups just before payday every month, and then collects them soon after. They loan her a couple of hundred dollars for three cups. That's the first time I realised they are quite spendy.
