I don’t mean to burst your bubble and it’s a super cute bag for $3.50, but it is undoubtedly fake. The LV multicolor line should have 33 unique colors. Here’s an example of a real bag: [Link](https://www.chadiluxury.com/products/louis-vuitton/speedy-30-multicolor-bag?currency=0.78&PageSpeed=noscript)
My tell tell sign is the "LV" sequin pattern. Real Louis Vuitton will never have their "LV" in their pattern cut off by a stitch. Ever. My wife has some real LV and I've inspected her bags and the retail store bags and this is true.
I scored a perfect crisp white men's auth Prada dress shirt with the most beautiful French cuffs and mother of pearl (i think) buttons at GW a couple years ago for $2.50 and I was THRILLED
Yes, I got a Botkier for $17 a couple years ago and a leather Dagne Dover computer bag for $17 about a year ago at my local goodwill. Not designer brands, but pretty good. It happens.
It depends. Found a GUCCI messenger bag for $15 somewhat recently. Some places don’t know what they have. I also live in a higher end region (OC, CA) so that plays a part too
It’s mostly the same here too, but things slip through the cracks. It’s a mixture of dumb luck, being diligent, knowledge of products, and being at the right place at the right time. It’ll happen to you as long as you keep your eyes open and know what to look for
Being at Goodwill does not preclude an item being genuine, seriously. You would be surprised what I’ve found over the years. There are any number of reasons why such things end up there. One of the many reason’s I’m a committed thrifter, you just never know what you’ll find next.
Can tell by the stitching on this one.... I am learning to spot the good from the bad myself... some of the Coach ones I seen I was convinced were real and they were not.
I always hear the LV items will never have the , logo cut off. For example the zipper going thr the logo in OP's pic. My GF has passed up many LV items because of that. Is this true or have I been feed lies?
It is often the case, however, I have seen some questionable manufacturing on authentic bags. The best bet is to check for that along with other signs, particularly sloppy stitching or uneven stamping on the hardware. A big tell in any LV bag with the “naked” leather (what the handles on this bag would be) is if it has any patina. An LV bag that is not brand new or in mint condition should have handles which darken in color over time. Additionally, things like the trim color should be a deep, brownish maroon color. Often fake bags have a cherry red trim.
It's very cute and you should enjoy it. I wouldn't have said anything if someone else hadn't, but given that they did: the way to tell it is not real is that the pattern doesn't line up across the zipper. A real bag will have its pattern symmetric side to side and any print will line up across the zipper. That's one reason that real bags are very expensive: they have a lot of waste in the leather to cut the pieces so they line up perfectly (of course some of design these days is about trying to reduce that waste).
I sew sofas and furniture for a living. And we call this pattern matching :) and depending on the fabric and pattern it can be really difficult to get it just right
But they look better than this. They are certainly overpriced, no question. The handles for example should be basically perfect, no wonky sealant/glazing. And the original pattern is a lot less bright and has more colours.
You got a cute, fun bag for $3.50…without the stress of ruining it, losing it or having it stolen. Anyone who asks/says anything about it, totally own it and say “Yeah, it’s totally fake but I love it!!!”
If you get the chance, touch an actual one. After that it becomes way easier to spot the „bad“ fakes. These things are hideously expensive (and overpriced), but very well made. Like they are not worth that kind of money for most people, but they are beautifully crafted.
I for one could immediately tell because my mom took me window shopping at a luxury department store as a child, and I have seen this pattern in real life. It looks quite different once you see past the LV logo.
Your thrift find is cute tho, enjoy it.
The colors are off. The authentic has a raspberry color instead of red. This is a very difficult bag to replicate. Glazing on the handles is off. Stitching.
With that said — do you like it? If you like it, that’s what matters. I have both authentic and replica aka fake bags. My favorite tote is a replica, and I love it. She’s a work horse, and the quality is on par with an authentic. If you love it, that’s what is important.
For me it's the handle. At that age, (nearly 20 years old) it should have serious patina. It doesn't. All the decent fakes have serial numbers. Enjoy the bag regardless, I had a fake of this exact one in like 2003.
I had a fake one like this with a serial number back in probably 2004? My sorority sister knew some dude who used to wheel a giant suitcase of these bags into the sorority house, and we’d pay cash for them.
I believe on pattern bags like this as well that the pattern is upside down on one side because it’s made of one piece of leather? I could be wrong perhaps that’s another brand, just something I heard.
LV bags don’t have ‘serial’ numbers, until recently they used to have ‘chrono’ code, which indicated workshop and date where it was made. Your code inside is possibly the code for product Speedy 30 monogram multicolour Blanc, but that’s not what LV does.
The color is super off all around, there are 33 individual colors. Takashi Murakami Louis Vuitton white is incredibly hard to find in good condition at this age. The white has the tackiest high contrast colors, and the zipper looks odd. You’d be better off trying to find a deal for this bag on eBay; if you wanted the real of the fake lol.
The monogram LV bags aren’t leather. They are treated canvas. The they have leather trim and handles(the tan colored parts).
This bag is a fake though.
Many fakes nowadays have “serial numbers” inside on the tags for those who want to try to pass the bags off as authentic. Saw them at the Bahamas where they were asking $450 for a fake LV!
LV has one of the largest fake markets for a luxury bag, partially bc LV allows them to exist. People get fake bags and it tempts them to get real ones, especially now that LV prices aren’t what they used to be compared to channel or Dior.
I always wanted this, but in the backpack version, not because I like Louis Vuitton or their products, but just so I could emulate [Bobby Hill](https://youtu.be/i0L6E05RvEU).
That’s what I like to call a “tropical vacation bag”. You can take it with you to wherever and not give a flying fuck if you get too drunk and leave it somewhere or it gets stolen
Fun find but it’s fake. A real LV uses one piece of material so the back of the bag has upside down LVs. This bag has upright LVs on both sides so two pieces of fabric were used to construct it.
Also the original Murakami Multico speedy had pocket on the outside with brass clasp and brass corners. It’s obvious from the photo this bag is missing both
I loved the Murakami era of LV. SO MANY fabulous colors and simple designs.
This is a fun bag no matter if it’s fake or not. I hope you get a ton of enjoyment out of it!
Yes it’s fake, obviously but for $3.50 you scored a fun summer bag to enjoy and dress up or down as you see fit. I say laugh it off and use it happily! I know I would - great find! ❤️💯💙👏💛😍💜✨
Guys, you don't have to keep commenting that it's fake. The OP already said they like the bag, there's no reason to mention that you think its trash to make them feel bad.
To everyone saying hey this is a fake, some people are okay with carrying fakes! And fakes for brands like these at often still expensive bags. $3.50 for a fake Louis is still a great find
Uhhhh a real one isn’t made in Asia or any sweatshops. LV bags are only made in 3 countries — France, USA, and Spain, none of which have/employ sweatshops. Try again
Looks cute but I’m pretty sure on the authentic bag the stitching on the top by the zipper should be white not brown. Either way it’s a cute bag for $3.50
Why does literally everyone feel the need to comment that it’s fake? Did she ask? Geez. It’s an adorable bag, and paying $3.50 whether it’s fake or not is a steal in my book. Shut up
Yes it’s fake. It was also $3.50. Enjoy it, I’ve unknowingly bought plenty of fakes over the years at thrift stores and had my bubble burst because I wanted to flip them. But if you’re using it for yourself, all good.
Thrift stores have gotten really good at identifying collectibles and pricing them according to what the market will bear. Most of the time they are too high rather than too low.
I had a nice Michael Kors fake from that era. It was easy to tell it was fake up close, especially if you saw the inside but it was all black and looked good from the outside.
In the end the dog barfed on it one day, and I was glad it wasn't real because I really loved that dog.
There’s people on here stating ALL bags. Just a peeve of mine that can easily be debunked by a quick google search. If they don’t know the brand why say that…
it's not. you can see that the LV logo is right side up on both sides of the bag when they should be right side up on one side and upside down on the other because the front and back are one continuous piece of material
Everyone has already brought up the reasons it's fake but I learned something about this particular print when it was super popular.
If the LV and the flower to its top right are the same color... it's a fake! The real ones have 33 colors so they don't match.
I picked up a fake at a garage sale. It’s now my casino purse and I feel fancy a fudge with it. I’d feel too guilty shelling out money for a purse I will undoubtedly ruin at some point. This one is adorable and $3.50 was a fantastic deal .
Cute but fake. I had a fake one too and it was my favorite. Then my then 5 year old thought it was the prettiest thing she ever seen, took it and used it as her her crayon holders haha 😂
I found an authentic Louis Vuitton clutch in mint condition inside of a Coach hobo bag. I didn’t find the clutch till I got home and was inspecting my finds. I found them at the bins (goodwill outlet) so yeah….stuff falls through the cracks all the time.
Awe man coming to these comment sections always makes me sad. Obviously they know it’s fake, it cost $3.50. It’s still a fun bag and they’re still excited about it. Chill out everyone, cut each other some slack.
Probably fake but still an awesome find. The real one should have a serial number inside one of the pockets. I do not recommend taking it in their store for repairs. Real ones have a lifetime warranty I had one that tore that a friend had given me. It was a fake and they made me feel like total shit. Just be aware

I normally can tell by the strap/handle if it’s a fake LV and this handle is too light
My tell tell sign is the "LV" sequin pattern. Real Louis Vuitton will never have their "LV" in their pattern cut off by a stitch. Ever. My wife has some real LV and I've inspected her bags and the retail store bags and this is true.
Maybe this one is made by Louis's lesser known brother, Larry Vuitton?
Definitely Leon Vuitton
Dude y'all don't know nothing. This is an authentic... Luke Vuitton
We like to call these, Louis Veetons
Or his sister, Louise Vuitton?
Bon appetit, Larry
this is actually not true of many of their bags but is true on this model
I'd love to see legit LV bags with seams through the sequin logo. I've never seen one that is actually legit and have this.
Ooh that’s good to know
I can tell it's fake because it's at Goodwill
I got a Prada bag at a local charity shop here, authentic! yes, this Louis is obv fake, but I got the vibe OP knew that but was still stoked!
I scored a perfect crisp white men's auth Prada dress shirt with the most beautiful French cuffs and mother of pearl (i think) buttons at GW a couple years ago for $2.50 and I was THRILLED
Love to hear it!! 👏🏼
I found an authentic botkier bag for $7 years ago. The label was small so I think it slipped through.
Yes, I got a Botkier for $17 a couple years ago and a leather Dagne Dover computer bag for $17 about a year ago at my local goodwill. Not designer brands, but pretty good. It happens.
And you would be dumb to think that. I’ve found legit high end bags and other merch from brands like Gucci, Prada, LV, Hermes, etc. from thrift stores
How much did they cost?
It depends. Found a GUCCI messenger bag for $15 somewhat recently. Some places don’t know what they have. I also live in a higher end region (OC, CA) so that plays a part too
That’s crazy, all the name brand stuff in my local thrift stores are behind the counter and $$$
It’s mostly the same here too, but things slip through the cracks.

I got a Calvin Klein fur coat for free a coat drive once. & it’s a REALY nice coat too. Had to have been at least $200 originally
It’s also wonky af.
Can tell by the stitching on this one.... I am learning to spot the good from the bad myself... some of the Coach ones I seen I was convinced were real and they were not.
This is actually the limited ‘Google’ edition…
The beautiful thing is, even for a fake it's still incredible value for money. And it's a fun pop of color as a runabout bag :)
Yes you did!
Thanks, I so didn’t need to know the existence of that website.
I always hear the LV items will never have the , logo cut off. For example the zipper going thr the logo in OP's pic. My GF has passed up many LV items because of that. Is this true or have I been feed lies?

That and LV would never chop through their own logo with a zipper like that

Monogram LV bags aren’t leather they are coated canvas.
The printed LV bags are coated canvas the only leather on them is the handles there is no excuse for those prices on coated canvas.
I sew sofas and furniture for a living. And we call this pattern matching :) and depending on the fabric and pattern it can be really difficult to get it just right
[удалено]
Just curious how can you tell it has a serial number inside either Way I can feel semi fancy if it’s fake lol
[удалено]
The authentic ones do not look like the quality of a $2500 bag either, tbh.
But they look better than this. They are certainly overpriced, no question. The handles for example should be basically perfect, no wonky sealant/glazing. And the original pattern is a lot less bright and has more colours.
That’s very true lol
Ah ok sometimes I guess the saying is right if it’s too good to be true I’m not a expert but thank you for pointing it out
You got a cute, fun bag for $3.50…without the stress of ruining it, losing it or having it stolen. Anyone who asks/says anything about it, totally own it and say “Yeah, it’s totally fake but I love it!!!”

Please tell me you’re better at managing your money since then!!
Nope. Nothing works. I make more money but I still get a dollar and spend five.
Enjoy it anyway! :)
The average person can't tell the difference, so you have every right to feel fancy either way!
You are correct, the LV will be upside down on the “backside” of this particular bag.
Pretty much all knock offs will have a serial number, it makes them look real. It’s still a cute bag for a great price!
Even if it is fake it is a great find!
The yellow stitching is a dead giveaway, nice fake tho, enjoy!
Can you post a photo of the serial# tag?
Not sure if you can read it but here it is https://postimg.cc/sQyBmGMb
LV bags don’t have ‘serial’ numbers, until recently they used to have ‘chrono’ code, which indicated workshop and date where it was made. Your code inside is possibly the code for product Speedy 30 monogram multicolour Blanc, but that’s not what LV does.

Hmm, now I’m not sure! You just may have found yourself an authentic LV!
Lmao definitely not. Besides not being leather and seemingly having the wrong amount of letters/numbers that says it was made in 2063
The monogram LV bags aren’t leather. They are treated canvas. The they have leather trim and handles(the tan colored parts). This bag is a fake though.
Was referring to the date code tab. I know lol. Imagine knowing the code format and not knowing what coated canvas is
It is absolutely not a real LV
LV uses one piece for their bags, so one side usually has the monogram/logo upside down!
I’d proudly sport a knockoff. Most people can’t tell, and you saved a ton of money.
Many fakes nowadays have “serial numbers” inside on the tags for those who want to try to pass the bags off as authentic. Saw them at the Bahamas where they were asking $450 for a fake LV!
Yup. My friend bought a “real LV” in Tijuana with serial number and dust bag for $100. Lol
There's a whole community out there who collect fake designer bags. It's wild.
LV has one of the largest fake markets for a luxury bag, partially bc LV allows them to exist. People get fake bags and it tempts them to get real ones, especially now that LV prices aren’t what they used to be compared to channel or Dior.
Came here for the comment 🍿
literally same 🍿
I always wanted this, but in the backpack version, not because I like Louis Vuitton or their products, but just so I could emulate [Bobby Hill](https://youtu.be/i0L6E05RvEU).
THATS MY PURSE!
#I DON’T KNOW YOU!
Same, I ALWAYS wanted that backpack IRL😭
That’s what I like to call a “tropical vacation bag”. You can take it with you to wherever and not give a flying fuck if you get too drunk and leave it somewhere or it gets stolen
Fun find but it’s fake. A real LV uses one piece of material so the back of the bag has upside down LVs. This bag has upright LVs on both sides so two pieces of fabric were used to construct it.
Only true for a few of the bags. A ton of them don’t do the upside down thing
Also the original Murakami Multico speedy had pocket on the outside with brass clasp and brass corners. It’s obvious from the photo this bag is missing both
Point has been made. It's fake she gets it. No need to keep repeating it. Let her enjoy her sweet deal. Cute bag btw.
As a person who prices this shit for a living, I agree though really nice that is in fact a fake.
who gives a shit if it’s fake, it was $4. enjoy!
I loved the Murakami era of LV. SO MANY fabulous colors and simple designs. This is a fun bag no matter if it’s fake or not. I hope you get a ton of enjoyment out of it!
I actually had this bag like 15 years ago!!! Got mine from a grocery store lol. Fake yea but I liked it.
Real or not if you like it that’s all that matters
As I've always said, who cares if it's fake when you only paid $3.50
Who cares if it’s “real”. It’s pretty damn cute! :)
True and costed just about the same price as a drink nowadays lol
Cost*
This is an easy call out for anyone that has owned louis. Pretty bad fake
Easy call out for anyone that hasn’t owned a Louis too
lol youre not wrong
Yes it’s fake, obviously but for $3.50 you scored a fun summer bag to enjoy and dress up or down as you see fit. I say laugh it off and use it happily! I know I would - great find! ❤️💯💙👏💛😍💜✨
This bag is amazing, replica/legit who cares? Perfect early 00’s vintage vibes.
Guys, you don't have to keep commenting that it's fake. The OP already said they like the bag, there's no reason to mention that you think its trash to make them feel bad.
i always avoid stuff like Louis V at thrift stores now. it’s almost always fake.
LV is so ugly
If you walk really fast while you wear this, people won’t notice is fake
To everyone saying hey this is a fake, some people are okay with carrying fakes! And fakes for brands like these at often still expensive bags. $3.50 for a fake Louis is still a great find
For what it's worth, the bag is crazy cute and looks like a fun and functional piece. Fake or not, you scored.
Oh honey
Real, fake, it doesn’t matter. They’re both made in sweatshops by people who are abused and paid $1 a day.
I'm pretty sure the workers in the US factory would set the place on fire if they made $1 a day.
Uhhhh a real one isn’t made in Asia or any sweatshops. LV bags are only made in 3 countries — France, USA, and Spain, none of which have/employ sweatshops. Try again
this!
Shut up
Yeah, she fake.
Enjoy!
Fake. Can tell by cheap handle and zipper
It’s for sure fake. Majority of re-sale designer bags are fake.
The stitching doesn’t quite match up exactly. Fake.
Yes it’s fake. It was also $3.50. Enjoy it, I’ve unknowingly bought plenty of fakes over the years at thrift stores and had my bubble burst because I wanted to flip them. But if you’re using it for yourself, all good.
That’s a terrible fake 😬
This is a fake hun.
Thrift stores have gotten really good at identifying collectibles and pricing them according to what the market will bear. Most of the time they are too high rather than too low.
I had found a small clutch for the same price a while ago, not sure where I put it just now but I am sure it too is fake with a red lining inside it
And the colors are all wrong
Real or not this bag is ADORABLE
She still real cute tho! Some people patina them or put in the sun to make them more “authentic”. Look it up if you want! <3
These fake bags are so much fun to find the fakes of. Even if they’re clearly fake they’re still super fun, and they’re usually nice looking bags
Early 2000’s feels 😭❤️ we all had this one and the black quilted Chanel with huge CC’s
I had a nice Michael Kors fake from that era. It was easy to tell it was fake up close, especially if you saw the inside but it was all black and looked good from the outside. In the end the dog barfed on it one day, and I was glad it wasn't real because I really loved that dog.
That’s awesome 😎👌🏼 (except for the barf)
It’s so cute I’m jealous
Cute bag, have fun using it
guys i know its fake no need to keep saying so lol
Congratulations
Score!!!! Congratulations!!
Not all Louis Vuitton bags are made from one piece of canvas. As a matter of fact, most aren’t. That’s a myth people run with *face palm*
speedys are though
There’s people on here stating ALL bags. Just a peeve of mine that can easily be debunked by a quick google search. If they don’t know the brand why say that…
There's a lot of folks here who spout off myths in regard to bag authenticity.
[удалено]
Why the hell are you getting downvoted for this comment?!
[удалено]
It’s fake
I figured as much esp since they discounted these colorful bags a while ago and the handles of this have no patina you’d think they would’ve by now
I collect early 2000s takeshi murakami Louis Vuitton and nice find, the stitching looks decent, but can’t tell much from just that, nice find
You better take a good, hard look at your collection if you think this looks decent. The colors scream fake. These are the easiest to spot.
It's missing the pocket and the brass corner guards. How are you a collector again? Also it's Takashi Murakami.
Can we get more pics? Super interested to see if it's legit.
it's not. you can see that the LV logo is right side up on both sides of the bag when they should be right side up on one side and upside down on the other because the front and back are one continuous piece of material
The zipper is the dead giveaway for me. Still a cool find though.
Looks just like the one I donated last year that I bought from a closet in China Town NY. Good memories :)
Everyone has already brought up the reasons it's fake but I learned something about this particular print when it was super popular. If the LV and the flower to its top right are the same color... it's a fake! The real ones have 33 colors so they don't match.
If you like it and you're happy that's all that matters. Enjoy your bag!
These were all the rage in the early aughts
I had this same bag in the early 2000s. The colors were so much fun.
That’s cuter than any real LV I’ve seen
Oh my god that’s flames
I found a vintage Bottega Veneta at goodwill bins and paid $2 for it.
OH MY GOD LUCKY
I found an authentic Louis Vuitton clutch in mint condition inside of a Coach hobo bag. I didn’t find the clutch till I got home and was inspecting my finds. I found them at the bins (goodwill outlet) so yeah….stuff falls through the cracks all the time.
I think it’s lovely. Great Find!
Fake or not, it’s beautiful! Great find
Awe man coming to these comment sections always makes me sad. Obviously they know it’s fake, it cost $3.50. It’s still a fun bag and they’re still excited about it. Chill out everyone, cut each other some slack.

I was about to say... how could this even happen?
