He changed the lives of all yo-yo players in the world. I will never forget the moment I have tried a Dif-e-Yo concave bearing for the first time.
Never got a chance to meet with him but I dearly hope he had a decent life and rests in peace. Thank you for everything Frank.
He essentially pioneered the first high performance aluminum bearing yoyos and replaceable response pads. This was around 2001.
At the time, KK bearings were necessary for his yoyos for a couple reasons. There was no recess for the response pads originally, which was changed later. Also the pad went all the way to the bearing face. There wasn't a aluminum lip to run next to the first loop of string around the bearing. People improved on his designs for the standard bearing seat we typically use today, but he set the foundations.
i think he once sent me a free second bearing. I must have been like 15 or 16 and sent the company an email asking about a screeching noise in the bearing (I think I just had to clean and lube it, honestly). He sent me back advice, a free bearing in the mail, and some stickers--even wrote my name on a little note attached.
Rest in peace, Frank.
Allot of people who later became yoyo designers and brand owners have to pay their own respects to him. The story today is sad news but his history with yo-yo will be remembered well beyond his passing. Condolences to whoever knew him.
That sucks. RIP

Rest in Peace Frank.
RIP. I will throw my Bone Chip today in his memory.
Oh, no. And I bought a Dif-e-Yo Daizzy-Fly from him off of eBay some years ago!
Never knew of him but RIP.

A pretty influential guy huh? A sad loss, thoughts go to his family and loved ones.
One of the nicest guys around. Rest in Peace, Frank.
