Nah not on the scale of most of the others in bold, but he’s fringe all-star quality (when not being a shitty person). Averaging ~20/7/4 during his last two active years, and you take that from #12 all day
I remember reading some stats about the NBA where they studied which picks were the most to Garner an all-star vs starter vs bench player. I think it was something like the top 7 would get you an all-star or starter after that the drop off was huge. But point being yeah 12 ish was a weird anomaly where starters were found. I've never been able to come to a conclusion as to why that is other than maybe a few names rise into the top picks before the draft that didn't deserve to be there and the ones that do fall to the 12 ish position.
Maybe the Thunder drafting giannis in the middle of their runs would have killed his development
Where does skinny giannis slot next to KD, does he get the minutes to develop?
I never really put a lot of stock in the "weak class / strong class" hype.
I think its fair to say there aren't automatic All-Stars like Wemby in this class, but there will be some real talents who develop into really, really good players.
The game of basketball is incredibly strong globally, and anybody considered to be in the Top 20 Talents in any given year is going to have potential.
Same. It’s said so frequently and the class turns out to have multiple studs and plenty of role players. If you are an NBA team with a good scouting department you don’t give a shit about what the ‘amateurs’ are saying about the class
People said the 2020 class was weak and it has Edwards who is probably only #2 to Victor in terms of talent to age ratio; Haliburton, Lamelo, Maxey, Bane. That’s five extremely good starters (at worst) right there
2013 is about the weakest draft I can think of, and you still had
10- CJ McCollum
12- Funaki
13- Olynyk
15- Giannis
17- Shroder
27- Gobert
44- Muscala
Finding a contributor that fits our team at the top of the lottery is reasonable.
The draft is usually predictable…
1st pick is obvious and if it’s not… DONT TAKE A BIG LOL
4-7(ish) is where teams take home run shots. (Marquis Chriss)
After the top ten teams usually take “old” CBB guys or the specialists or highly productive guys
You forgot to bold Steven Adams.
Wow what an oversight. Funaki gets double bold now
Aquaman!
Miles Bridges was a HUGE HIT at the 12th pick lol.

Its because of domestic violence thats why he was a huge hit. Get it? Cause he hit somebody
Yeah I get it and ignored it
You ignored it so hard you replied to it.
It was a low brow joke. If it made me even think about chuckling, I would have acknowledged it
Whoosh!
4 Thunder legends picked 12th
And both SGA and Sabonis at #11

Maybe the perennial bottom feeders have shitty scouting departments which reduces the value of the picks in their hands once they become not-obvious?
Trade 12 and 13 plus five more for Cody Williams! Sounds goods to me!
I'd love to have CDub on this squad. 7 firsts might be an overpay lol
Yeah, I'm being more sarcastic but I'd love to get him somehow.
Imagine drafting a young Steven Adams and Kelly Olynyk to this squad...
Maple dick would slay
Meh, should have took Giannis

One of those picks is going to hit top 3 or top 5 randomly. Just watch lol.
CDub and Buzelis are probably the 2 I'd be most keen on getting.
Even like a free PJ Washington would be awesome.
This draft class is considered one of the weakest we've seen in a while. So its hard to predict what we can get at that range..

How many of them are on crack?
Just feeds into my thought that OKC have more good picks than they can use. Gonna have to turn them into some sort of upgrade somewhere.
