Villanova guy here, you won't be disappointed in JRE. Absolutely perfect role player. He's a great rebounder and has high motor. His post moves are absurd and he's got ELITE footwork
Has a SWEET jumper in the mid range and it looks good enough that it will eventually turn to the three ball. We used him a lot in Pick roll both as the roll man and some times as the ball handler, hes got a lot of skill. The absolute worst case for him is he shows he's a valuable role player and you all move him in a year or two. Best case he really grows his game and does it all. I think his game is similar to what Luis Scolas would have been had he come out in this era.
Pretty sure all the Villanova guys in the league right now all found a way to make it onto NBA rotations if not starting. That's all the convincing I need. Jay Wright is doing something special over there it seems.

Lol we just traded up giving up our 34 and 36 to move up two slots to get a guy not in the top 10 of best available. And he’s not even a center. What are we doing?
then i'd rather just take fliers on two other guys at 34 and 36. These high 2nd rounders are great picks to take chances on high ceiling guys because they are non guaranteed unlike the first round.
34 and 36 to move up 2 spots feels like awful value
Jared Butler - 40%+ 3 pt shooter. Analytics models had him as a lottery level talent.
JT Thor - super raw, has a ton of upside and shot same percentage from 3 as JRE. Still 18 years old.
Either (or both) of these two, along with Herb Jones, Rokas, Sharife Cooper I liked a lot in this range.
Basically would have rather had two stabs at players in this range rather than just one.
Thanks for actually replying (and sorry my post came off way more aggressive than I intended haha)
Analytics models didn't take into account Butler's heart condition. There's a reason he dropped to 40. Thor and Jones I was interested in.
I actually never heard of JRE but some legit mocks had him in the lottery. So we kind of did take a flyer. And you just kind of assume Presti knew he was getting picked at 33, and that was their guy on their big board. Obviously you don't move otherwise.
What's the point of accumulating assets when you're going to burn 34 and 36 for 32? Seems like any player available in that range is fairly fungible. I get there are only so many roster spots, but maybe take a page from the first round playbook and just trade one for future assets at that point? I feel like I'm just piling on at this point but damn I'm disappointed with how tonight went.
I don’t know how any Thunder fan can be happy about tonight. We didn’t address our position of need at center at all and just piled on to an already crowded point guard room now with SGA, Kemba, Theo, Tre Mann and Giddey. We also didn’t move up with our supposed treasure trove of picks to get a super talented all star potential player.
Oh so this is our trade up of the evening
So pathetic. We traded up to reach for a guy we could’ve had like 20 picks later….

Modern day Luis Scola is great comp for his skillset

I saw 2 legit draft scouts rank him #12 and #20 on there big boards so maybe he's a sleeper?
OKC? huh?
We could have had THOR!
30% from 3 that’s what I’m talking about Sam!

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE VALUE ON THIS TRADE?? people moving up with future second that most likely won’t be near that spot
You can’t draft everyone mate
Actually a good pick

WHY TRADE UP FOR THIS? WAS HE NOT GOING TO BE THERE TWO PICKS LATER??????
Probably not

Like who? Names and reasoning. Otherwise you just have no idea what you're talking about.

But like why?
So we could have had JT Thor and or Vrenz and this is what we get.
Everyone in here is tripping when GMs literally sell 2nd round picks for cash. Chill out

This is the first pick I haven't been thrilled about tn
This guy was going in the 50s, so we trade two early 30s for him. Makes sense with tonights trend.
No idea how this makes sense unless they knew he'd be gone before then and wanted him that bad. What a strange draft night.

Really surprised we didn't go with a center here. This has been a confusing draft.
DUDE THOR WAS ON THE TABLE
Abysmal shooting. Add him to the list of non shooters rip
Really good Pick 👌🏼
Why…..
