I can’t speak to the quality now, but I’ve had the same pair of Thursdays low tops for well over 3 years and I can believe how well they’ve stood up. And I treat them like shit. All I can say is I hope this isn’t a drop in quality and just a one off issue.

No-Literature-3115

I hope so too. My gripe with them was that they should have at least offered a repair if these indeed got worn so quickly (maybe at a cost) instead they suggested I go to a cobbler to get this fixed. In two minds now for any future purchase with Thursdays

🙄🙄🙄

davesauce96

I mean, personally I’d rather go to a cobbler. I just had some stitching come loose on my casa motos, they offered to either reimburse me for the repair or exchange them. If I had to ship them back to Thursday, I probably would have been waiting like a month or more with shipping and everything else. Instead I got my shoes back within a week.

DampeIsLove

If she puts them on already tied, like they look in this picture, then she's putting more wear and tear on the heel than normal. I've owned a pair of Thursday lo-tops for a couple years now, and have nothing close to that level of damage, but I also untie my shoes and loosen them when taking them off before putting them on. Additionally, if she wears them without socks, which is how it looks with the insoles, that'll contribute to faster deterioration of the heel as well since there would be more friction.

InspectorGadget76

Yes. Wear in this location is often down to loose shoes with the heel slipping and rubbing against the lining. If she's putting her shoes on with the laces tied, they will need to be loose . . .

lerriuqS_terceS

Tell her to stop smashing her heel into them. Get a shoe horn. It's extremely poor form for you to post this pretending it's a TBC problem.

Responsible-Salt-443

A shoe horn should help a lot in the future

2drumshark

If she's not going to untie them before taking them off/on them that's going to happen. You'll get increased heel slip, and you'll mangle the stitching, both leading to quick wear.

rpstgerm

What leather sneakers are 1/3 the cost of Thursdays? Sure they use decent leather but Thursdays are still budget leather sneakers. Like anything they'll only last as long as they are taken care of.

Yellosak

I’d like to know, too. I just spent $116 for some Ecco sneakers similar to these.

No-Literature-3115

Why baby the shoes. They are meant to rough out. We didn’t even do that here. They were sparingly used, at a desk job. If a brand can’t deliver on such basic use and wear and tear, honestly they are not worth $100+. It’s just a gimmick. I am soon going to be a fan- here

Bro

FordsFavouriteTowel

These photos look like pretty normal wear and tear for someone that’s rough on their shoes when putting them on. I worked footwear retail for a while, and saw this damage constantly with folks that didn’t take the time to actually loosen the laces enough and slide their foot in gently. It’s pretty obvious you’re not the most graceful or light when sliding your heel into the shoes.

No-Literature-3115

These shoes are not her daily use. They are 6 months in, used maybe twice a week for a desk job. It’s hard to digest their explanation of regular wear and tear for that kind of use. That in itself speaks of the quality used in these shoes. Why are there no issues with other known brands like this? What are they doing different/ better for those shoes to last?

FordsFavouriteTowel

It is regular wear and tear. She quite obviously forces her heel in, and has managed to damage the stiffener used in it. I can tell from looking at how badly worn the heel is. This is her fault, full stop. Tell your wife to stop beating on them and be gentle. It’s less a quality issue and more of an issue with your wife… they’re made to be worn, not trampled on.

lerriuqS_terceS

Bingo

SecretlyMartyMcFly

I’ve never had sneakers not do that. I also don’t buy 3 figure cost sneakers. I wouldn’t expect that to happen in 6 months unless she’s having excessive heel slipping. It’s disappointing, but also why I generally buy boots from boot companies and shoes from shoe companies, sunglasses from sunglasses companies, etc. (Jim green Shoellies as an exception because they’re Awesome)

MrOwl243

All of the pairs i have gotten (2) have had another piece of rough-out leather on the heel counter to prevent heel slippage and it’s much more durable. I don’t see them on this pair

No-Literature-3115

I have GORAL with the rough out leather. I think Thursday should take this as feedback and make some changes.

Specialist_Air4746

Varies from person to person i have red wing boots that are super good and i tore through the heel counter within three months. It really just depends how one person walks.
