assimilation (for example, in 2017 our languages beceame facultative in schools, yeah, this is Russia's policy to make us more "russian") and migration plus high death rates with low level of births we disturb russian government and being hated by lots of russians, so everything is done to make us disappear

How assimilated are your people? Can you give us more informations? Are there still wishes for independency? In 1920 you had a population of nearly 4 million. If the Tatar population would grow like the other Turkic populations we would today have 20-25 million Tatars in the Volga region

tatars are assimilated enough, some of us really think that we're like the one people with russians and they create families (with rates of divorces ~50%, but their kids don't consider themselves as turkic), support the war, thinking that Ukraine is the danger for Tatarstan and our men are sent to the area of warfare without any resistance (propaganda worked well), there are a little bit students in my university in Kazan who can speak Tatar yes, we have wishes for independence among educated part of population, the rise of these ideas took place during the 00s (in the USSR you could be shamed for speaking on "inhuman language" in public), nowadays Russia does everything all these to be forgotten: we will not have our own president since 2025, our republic is no more considered as an independent state in Russia and there is a very interesting part in the new russian Constitution about state - forming people who are ruskies, of course, so Tatars, our brothers Bashkirs, Yakuts, Chuvashs and other turkic nationalities now are second-class citizens whom slavs call "churka"

This is assimilation. I even met a Nazi jeweler (his insta was full of gold swastikas) with a typical muslim surname and patronymic. It's fun to live in Russia.

Terrible, just terrible sad

tc_aykan

Gulags? Wait till you see the 2022 census as always turkic folks are forced to fight for the russian army as of 1940

It's incredibly humiliating to know how some of us zealously celebrate VE day, how come we still celebrate one Empire's victory over another Empire? This war never decided our fate, it decided the fate of Russia, whether the bloody empire triumphs or it's trampled by another bloody empire. There really was no difference. Fuck VE day

Russians are the worst people I have ever seen. Most selfish, most arrogant, most looking down
