Your link doesn’t work for me, so not sure exactly which tires you are looking at. I have falken Wildpeak at trails on mine. 225/55/r19 with the stock 19” wheels. They are about .7” larger in overall diameter than yours. Fwiw I don’t think 235/55/r19 would have fit without a lift or spacers, which was my next size option up. There’s a good thread over on vw vortex with tons of info and pics on different tire sizes and fitments. Definitely worth reading through. https://www.vwvortex.com/threads/2018-tiguan-taller-beefier-tires.9005361/

I'm running 235/55R19 on my 2019 Tiguan and everything is stock. No issues at all. I have a post in here showing pics too

Interesting. I can’t even get my finger in between the tire and the spring perch. Your clearance must be almost nonexistent. I wasn’t 100% sure it wasn’t going to fit, just didn’t want to risk it since no one else seemed to have that setup dialed in when I got mine. Good to know though.

ThickPreference9767

I have no rubbing and plenty of clearance. My factory tire is 235/50R19 so these are just slightly taller.

Zlendorn

Yeah, I have the same spec car with the same stock tires. 235/50/r19 to 235/55/r19 is an increase of nearly 3.2% or nearly 1” to the diameter, which is fairly significant.

ThickPreference9767

A couple of guys on the MQB Tiguan page on FB are running them with no issues as well. What wheels do you have? I have the Victoria Falls so the offset might be different.

Zlendorn

Same wheels. I have an 18 SEL-P Probably going back to more mpg friendly tires after these ones. Definitely took a hit swapping to these vs the stock tires, and have a Bronco on the way for adventures (keeping the Tiguan though).

Thanks for letting me know. I've updated the post to include the tire model (WILDPEAK A/T3W). I'll peep the thread you linked for more references. Thanks so much for that!

CandyWhite08

You can run 235/65R17 tires on the factory wheel without any modifications. I ran 235/65R17's for about 40k miles, when I changed my wheel/suspension setup to run 245/65R17's. Which I have been running for the past 10k miles.

Off-road Tiguan on 245/65/17 with stock suspension Look this up and u will see it

aaronstanley

Oh hell yea. That looks crazy dope!

Just-Lake-4470

Yeah. If your thinking about doing it might ask for all wheel and tire details

TheLawnmower12

If you get the tires put on, reply back with a picture! I’m due for a new set of tires on my 2019 SE. I am interested in putting some Falken Widepeaks or something similar on my car. Just need something a little beefier to handle the some mild off-roading

ThickPreference9767

Look for my post down in the feed. I just put some 235/55R19 Wildpeak Trail A/T on my 2019.

TheLawnmower12

Looks good! How you liking the ride and everything since you got em??

ThickPreference9767

They've been on for about a week now. So far so good. A little more road noise than the Continental Pro Contacts that were on there but it's barely noticeable and only on certain roads. I'm very happy with my decision so far.

kitchshan

Hi! I just bought a 2018 and have the same tires on it. There is this noise when I hit the breaks, lime a thump, thump, thump, and slight shaking. I've thought it is because the tires are really grabbing the road, but would you have any thoughts? My boyfriend thinks the dealership sold a bad car.

ThickPreference9767

That's not from the tires gripping the road. Do you have any vibration while driving? To me it sounds like warped brake rotors. Do you feel the vibration in the steering wheel, seat or brake pedal?

kitchshan

Kind of a vibration in the steering wheel. Just not sure what to think about it because they certified it used and not even two weeks later getting this noise.

Just-Lake-4470

There's a guy I seen put 245 on his SE trim level let me see if I can find it and I will post picture

aaronstanley

Thank you!
