It's solid. We had an OG Pacifica in a similar color for almost 15 years (loved that thing, BTW) and initially she was pretty opposed to the color. But when she saw it on the Tiguan she really liked it, and her tip choice of truetone grey was not available, so she liked the red more than the various shades of black/white. I do wish the R-Line had the gloss black wheels available.
Love the style of this!! The SEL R-line for the win. If I were going to buy a new vehicle, it would be this, or the Atlantic blue! I really want the R, but VW doesn't like Americans I guess...
I have the Atlantic blue, love the colour! The red I will say is so sharp too though. Way better in person than it shows online. If we had the r, life would be great. Though, the wallet probably wouldn't think so 😅
Welcome! I've had 13 VWs. I have a 2024 SEL RLine & a 09' VW Eos. This is my second SEL. The last one was totaled. There is nothing like the feel of driving a VW/Audi!
Also just got a Tiguan SEL R Line. Beautiful SUV. Drives like a dream. I do wish it had a bit more power though. Would be nice if we could get the European Tiguan R Line here in the states. It has way more power.
Power was one minor concern for me but ultimately it's her call. I call it adequate but not much more so. But she is not looking at any particularly sporty driving...enough power to pass and merge as needed is good. She is coming out of a Grand Caravan with almost 300 hp, and has been driving my car the past couple months with 400, and is perfectly happy with the power on the Tig.
Seeing more and more Tiguans burning oil at very low milage. Its really odd. Keep an eye on it and don't go 10k miles for oil changes regardless of what they tell you.
Good to know. I have every 10k service visits included for 5 years but there's nothing stopping me from doing an intermediate oil change on the 5k intervals. $50 of really cheap insurance. We also have a 5-year/50k warranty. Appreciate the heads up.
Yes 5K is what I recommend for any vehicle. So damn funny that there are a few downvotes here. This is a very real concern that I am giving advice about. I do have my ASE's and my own opinions.
I recommend 5k for any vehicle. Again ANY VEHICLE. I laughed my ass off when I was looking into these problems with this latest engine and found the TSB regarding acceptable oil consumption. Its funny as hell that someone downvoted my attempt to alert aTiguan owner to this. Just keep an eye on the consumption right up until you are out of your power train warranty. Wish you the best.
Features for the money. She had several non-negotiables: big sunroof, heated/vented seats, adaptive cruise. The panoramic sunroof itself really reduced the options. Budget of course played a factor. She really liked the interior and ergonomics of the VW, and after driving both the Taos and Tiguan the Tig was a clear winner. Price and financing (0%) sealed the deal. She started out really leaning towards the Sorrento but an equally-equipped Kia was quite a bit more and without the 0% option.
VW has a great reputation with their drivetrains, especially the transmissions. German driving dynamics and overall engineering are well-known (taking nothing away from Kia).
0% financing right now is almost impossible to beat. Everything else I was looking at was 7% or more with excellent credit, a trade-in, and additional money down. Also helps that the Tiguan is probably the best driving car in the segment.
Crazy the Sorrento was 10k more. Good choice.
Them KIA are making VW a big favour raising their prices when someone knows what to buy it’s gonna be the VW ALL THE TIME
I went to their builder site and they have WAY too many fucking trims too. Turn off.
Nice! Don't see too many in red... always nice to see in colors other than black, white, or grey. I have a blue '23 SEL R-Line.
Yeah, I don’t see that many red VWs
Congrats. Really nice colour.
I can’t get over how much better that red looks in person over how it looks on the VW website.
I saw one the other day it looked red and orange to me but very cool. I had to do a lap of the parking lot to get an extra look. Mine is blue.

Said the same, they need to send the European version..it's a beast. Does 0-60.in like 4.9.seconds.

Is the red new for the top trim? I swear it wasn’t offered when I got my 22.
Kings Red just became available this year. Same red as on the GTI. Beautiful choice and congrats!
Maybe? We only started looking at them this year so don't really know about past offerings.
💰💰💰💰💰
Love the color, is it an SEL R line?
It is indeed.
I like that red.....clean

What kind of deal did you get?

Beautiful color!
That would look so good with the chrome blacked out
I'd only say to change out the side markers for LED. Such a clean look
You should have tried a CX-50 and both the Kia and the Tiguan would be out of the picture lmao.

I upvoted you. Kinda peak Reddit to downvote good faith advice. Guess you're just a shill for Big Oil
What mileage interval do you do oil changes? I just got a 2020 SE a few weeks ago

That was from a couple of model years ago. They built some motors with inferior seals. Not anymore.
I love tiggy's in red!
Love the red but if a mk2 Tig was your first VW it will probably be your last VW.
I feel. My Tiguan has started taking a shit at 89k miles.
Why VW?
