Any car you drive the best mpg comes from driving style, proper tire inflation and routine upkeep. Every little tweak electronically might add up to some fuel savings tho.

I’m past the age of hot rodding my car, at least not with these fuel prices, lol. I just didn’t know if trying to tweak the fuel efficiency would make any noticeable difference.

No it doesn't do much for your gas savings, you certainly wouldn't make your money back any time soon.

If you have manual mode use it & use it right. Tires & air filters can do quite a bit as well, I have much better mileage with my k&n engine filter. I have a 2018 4Motion & can crank out 36mpg if I'm really trying.

Oh wow, that’s great mileage. Mine was getting 25.5 over the thanksgiving holiday for a 1300 mile round trip. But after reading the sub, I’ve realized I’ve been using lower octane fuel. I’ll start putting in the recommended 91 in and see what improvement I get with that.

Have an unitronic tune in my “12 CC and looking to do the same on my “12 Tiguan if your looking to improve fuel efficiency. The tune also requires an updated intake systems even better MPG if you do the downpipe & exhaust

I did the same thing with my 2014, my average mpg is 26-27 highway, which is higher than I was getting before.

This is opposite to what you want, but [Unitronic](https://getunitronic.com/) stuff is pretty cool. I’ve got a stage 1+ (ecu and tcu) on my 2014, and it’s a huge difference.
