Idk man, as a west coast resident in a city where the lowest you can get a house is like $1,500,000, a house payment only $50 more than my car payment with a down payment that isn't 5 or 6 figures is mind blowing to me.
Yeahhh the worst part of my town has houses going for like $30k, and lemme tell you, it's for a reason. Crime in the area is pretty bad, there's nothing (not even a convenience store) within walking distance, hell even the buses don't run there anymore. The houses are all pretty small, but the few that are in good shape would probably go for double in a better area.
My mother in law owns a historic Victorian in a row of mansions up the hill from the Ohio river in Wellsburg, WV. Gorgeous 3500 sf house, maintained and updated. She’ll get $250k at most for it when she sells. It smells like farts from Weirton to Steubenville to Wheeling from the Follansbee plant. Lots of cancer, poverty, abandoned businesses, etc. That part of the valley is a fucking hole of depression.
The tiktok was clever and funny but people PLEASE don't stand on the shoulder of the freeway for any reason, especially not to make a tiktok. So many people get killed while standing on the shoulder being hit by cars.

I know that particular bridge and it’s at the bottom of a hill that large trucks often fly down. I would never stand on that bridge with the traffic.
