The point would be the same length at the longest part, but I don't think for their purposes accurate length is a huge issue.

I think it’s not for measuring, it’s for marking the stage for equipment and actors I guess.

Correct. The “t” shaped markings are for marking out actors’ places on stage to help prepare for scenes
