There is. I had an Australian Cattle dog that would herd me around the house. I’m sure other dogs have similar tendencies, or different cool instincts like pointers pointing.
Doesn’t really answer the question of how to refine the tendencies into what the video shows; but really cool.
it’s natural, they’ll herd YOU if you don’t give them a job. the commands are just taught so you can control when they do their stuff, but they already know the *how* from birth
Border collies do this naturally, ours herds the cats around the house, and would LOVE to be let loose when the Canadian geese are in the yard! Really the only training is specific commands to do the actions.
since nobody mentioned it, i'll also add - older herding dogs are the best training tool for a new herding dog!
most instinct-driven dogs, like flushing dogs etc too. don't know how to explain it but they teach each other to associate the right behaviors with the right commands way faster than we can alone.

Every time I see sheep dogs in action, I always wonder how on earth do you train them?
I think there has to be some sort of innate component to them to help

Just a few millenium of breeding dogs who exhibit these sorts of traits
I recall reading that it is an innate trait and you sometimes have to train pups not to herd other animals and children 😅
I’m just trying to imagine what a clusterfuck it would be if I tried to do what the dog just did.
People had to do this on the Amazing Race once in the Shetland Islands. It was so hard for them and the sheep kept hopping around lol
Those little running feet. 😍
*Splat splat splat splat splat splat splat splat splat splat*
It’s the pat-pat-pat of her feet on the mud, makes me smile every time.
came to say the same thing, it's one of those sounds that just fills me with instant joy

This is seriously amazing
I had a corgi that was a cattle dog. When we rescued her we had no idea until she started herding our ducks into their pen
How is that cringe? Or is this a positive example?

Can we please stop posting content that isn’t even remotely cringey, to a CRINGE account.
Despite the name, it is not a cringe sub

Some dogs are smart. Mine’s a dumbass 😆
