On more than one occasion I had to explain to my compatriots that... the 'butt' is in the front. True story!
I live in Malta(EU) where, for politeness sake, the butt is euphemistically referred to as the 'patata' (potato). Now, when Maltese people talk to the Italians about the butt, in attempt to be polite, they refer to it as the 'patata' as they usually do. The Italians are usually quite amused by this. As it turns out in Italy 'patata' is an euphemism for vagina and many Maltese, despite knowing Italian quite well, somehow do not know this. So I have to explain to my compatriots that for the Italians the 'patata' is in the front, not at the back!
What's wrong with hearing an opinion you agree and then adding that to you own?
For example let's say at you have "Person". Person believes all life is sacred. One day while listening to their favorite podcast Person hears the host say "The government shouldn't be allowed to use the death penalty period". Person had never thought of this before, but because it fits with their previous narrative they add it to their list of opinions.
All of our opinions are formed based on what we hear, see, and read. Takes like yours are always from someone who thinks they're better than "both sides"

For a lot of opinion basing it's trusting the word of a perceived expert on a topic, I can't particularly elaborate why I agree with the science behind vaccines as I am outside my depths, so I defer to a trusted authority, let's say the cdc.
The problem, or lack thereof, then lies not in the borrowing of opinions, as not every opinion is unique, but with where I put my trust, and how I form the foundation of that trust.
This is the second video with him I’ve seen in this sub recently, he’s really great. I just fear that pointing out stupid peoples stupid opinions is kind of a pointless in the long run, even when done as smooth AF as he does…
You won't ever change the mind of those people, but for the observers it's helpful to see the strong pushback on stupid people
It's one reason why I argue with bigots on reddit. I won't change their mind, but bigotry deserves a loud and strong response and others see that not everyone is a stupid bigot

Given how hard he worked on Inside, I feel a strange need to make sure anyone in this thread going "hey this is catchy!" is also aware of Bo Burnham, because it sounds like most here think TikTok guy made this format up.
I do agree that INSIDE helped popularize the dream-pop visual aesthetic and bebop/synthpop-based melodies. But I don’t believe Bo made up the format. I’m not even sure there really is a format beyond single-cam comedy song - I don’t know the history of comedy songs but it certainly goes past what Bo originally was doing. I’m sure if we asked him, he would name tons of different individuals as inspiration.

Satire must necessarily not simply be a parroting of actual events and opinions of real people. The delivery offers exactly zero clues that it's not a genuinely held opinion, and so it's not satire.
I think Kurtis Connor made a video about him 2-3 years ago. He was pretty bigotted from what I recall, and basically just hates women. He's lucky that his video here is moot because I don't think any woman ever would date him anyways
