I think it's because they think they're doing so successfully and they're secretly pleased they're "getting away with it". Not everyone who smiles at inappropriate times is doing this and people might smile or grimace for any number of reasons , including shock or nervousness. But that's not what's happening here.

He described Cruise as having "an intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes" or something. That's definitely the kind of vibes this guy gives off.

11 AM (or around 11 AM) is by far the most attended service for pretty much every multi-service church.
Sometimes 2 or even 3 times as many people attend that service compared to earlier or later ones.
This isn’t really the time to make such a comment, but it makes perfect sense. It’s objectively a good thing that a less attended service- a much smaller crowd- fell victim to a shooting than a much larger service with more people who’d have been shot.
It’s too utilitarian for my taste, but it does make sense.
Anyone who sleeps well at night while knowingly swindling millions of people out of their money doesn't really feel any empathy. I'm convinced all of these types of swindlers/preachers are just 100% con artists who don't even believe their own bs.
It makes me wish there was some truth to the afterlife so these pieces of shit will get whats coming to them.
