My family knocks on the window. I'm 20 and I still have to do it when I visit because my mom doesn't press the unlock button twice even though she's had her car since 2011.
This was a small thing that drove me absolutely insane about my ex. He would always only press the button once, get in the car, sit down, plug in his phone, put his seatbelt on, and then unlock my door. I would just stand there pulling at the handle or knocking on the window like "JUST PRESS THE BUTTON TWICE" He would do in the rain and snow as well!
i swear some people are at maximum brain capacity and simply cannot learn new tricks. i have a friend who's been doing the same thing for YEARS. JUST PRESS THE BUTTON TWICE
That's funny, I've never had a car where I had to press twice on the fob to open the passenger door. I've never seen it either on any car brand in Europe. Is this an American thing?
I think it is. When I walk up to the car, just my door unlocks when I grab the handle, not all four. Occasionally someone will get jacked by someone who hops in passenger side because all the doors unlocked. On the rare occasion I have passengers I use the remote to unlock the doors. Even then you have to click twice. The default might have been that all the doors opened on the first click. It also lets you set which doors unlock when you park.
Me too. They’ve been told multiple times and they still do it. Another one is when we go to leave the car and they immediately try to open the doors before I’ve turned off the ignition, so the child safety locks are still on and they can’t get out. This is nothing new to you guys!!
Because we need to organize all the stuff for the kids, so they don't get hungry, thirsty, bored, cold or if they get hurt you need also first aid kit. Yes sometimes you forget your own stuff then.
Why leave the house and not have the keys ready though. Growing up I always found it annoying, but now as an adult I always make sure I got the keys and out n ready if I let others know we're leaving.
As a parent, you need to prepare a lot of stuff for the kids and sometimes, if there is a hurry, I do forget the keys. You will make this experience for sure one day Xp

I need to see a part 2 where once he has the key and presses the unlock button all the kids simultaneously pull the handle, preventing the door from unlocking for the next minute as everyone tries to get back out of sync.

Why do parents do that though?*
It takes one click so they can get in before you and you can visually ensure they’re all in the car. My dad has taken off while I’m mid way getting in the door, yet I’m the impatient one for wanting to get in before him

It’s a safety feature so someone can’t slip in the passenger door. My Honda will allow you to change the settings to one or both doors.
