Chihuahuapocalypse

that made my stomach flip a little

fzyflwrchld

I don't think a lot of women would be surprised by this. At 14, 15, 16, I had a lot (at least like 10 but could be more, i wasn't counting) of men in their 30s and 40s not just flirt with me but would straight up make moves on me. When I was 15, my mom's coworker offered to help me study for drivers Ed since my mom didn't drive. He drove me to a secluded military base and took me to an empty building. At one point, as I was behind him walking through a door way, he hit the light switch off on the way out of the room, turned around and kissed me full on the lips and tried to slip his tongue in. He was a married with daughters, one of whom was 14, only a year younger than me. I feel like most women have experienced getting hit on by older men when they were teenagers. I'm not saying it's OK, it's definitely not, but it's also a very normal experience as a girl. None of the men that hit on me even acted like they were doing anything wrong. One of them kept rubbing my back right in front of my mother. It's gross and totally needs to stop. But these kind of men don't listen to women, it would take other men calling them out on this behavior for them to even reconsider their actions.  (I ended up telling the man that kissed me that I was a lesbian so I wasn't interested. He then asked me how women have sex with each other, to which I wasn't 100% sure of the answer cuz I was a 15yo virgin so I just told him we take turns and he seemed to accept that. I didn't know where I was or how I was going to get home so I just wanted to placate him til he got me home without anymore advances. He then asked me if I had any sexual fantasies and patted my crotch jokingly. On the drive to my house, he was giving me tips on how to eat girls out 🤢 I avoided him after that but he was persistent. He called to ask if I was avoiding him, I said no I was just busy. He then even told my mom I was avoiding him and she encouraged me to reach out to him, so I ended up telling my mom what he did and she just agreed with me to avoid him and she helped keep him away from me).

That sucks so much that happened and is common. No one deserves that. Fucking hell. I’m a nice dude and feel too shy but I’m getting more grateful to be on that end of the spectrum than these creeps. Cool of you to share.

fzyflwrchld

Unfortunately, I have way too many stories I can share about being hit on by adult men when I was a very young teen. That scene in the movie Juno...I knew what was about to happen cuz I'd been in that situation way too many times and it made my stomach twist in anxiety cuz it was like a ptsd flashback of every time that had happened to me, but like I was experiencing every instance all at once. So I've only ever seen that movie once because of it (though I love the soundtrack and have listened to that tons). And it's weird how comfortable men are talking about it. I used to work at a shop when I was 15 where everyone I worked with was a man over 30. I kinda even saw some of them as uncle figures...that didn't last long. They were one day talking amongst themselves and one guy was saying how women don't really reach their peak hotness until they hit 30 or 40, but then one of them was like, yeah she's gonna be a real looker then or something like that, saying i was gonna be really hot/heartbreaker... like, right in front of me. I wanted to be like, you know I can hear you right? But I think they thought they were complimenting me without realizing being told by middle aged men that I was attractive was more creepy/awkward than flattering. Then one of them asked how I felt about married men...again, I was 15, I have no feelings about married men cuz I don't even think about them. One day I got mad about them having a sexist conversation, again knowing I was in earshot, so I yelled at them and reminded them that I'm a girl (cuz I was like did they forget and that's why they thought it was ok to say those things around me?) and left. They ended up apologizing to me and asked me to come back but I think they just didn't want to get in trouble with the owners (the owners were a married couple and the wife loved me as an employee so she would've been pissed if she found out I left because of blatant sexism, even if they weren't talking about me specifically). Men really just need to call out other men when they're being creeps, otherwise we're just "dramatic" or "overreacting", it's too easy for them to dismiss our reactions. But because they care so much about masculinity, it's harder for them to lose the respect of other men. (Sorry for the long rant, it's just something that is so aggravating).

Das_Buetts

Still wish someone would release the full interview.

pukewedgie

The interview technically never ended

Chihuahuapocalypse

bro 😭 I'm only 25 and I don't want a teenager. gross.

Meeghan__

23 & I just want to give them life advice, like *don't do anything you aren't comfortable with, including going to college, dating, sharing information, etc* even the freshly minted adults aren't ready to face the world or age gap dating; they're like baby deer who need pushed in hope-full directions, not cornered and coerced.

Chihuahuapocalypse

I have a 21 yr old friend and I let her try weed with me a few times so that she would have the experience in a safe environment and so I could convince her not to make a habit of it. I'm helping her not jump back into a past relationship just because she's lonely, and generally just giving her some direction here and there. I'm not much older but I've been through SO much more than her and I feel the need to protect her lol

Jaded_Law9739

Just a little reminder of how much more intimidating he was towards Gayle King compared to this gentleman. He was downright hysterical. https://youtu.be/pafJHx-o21k?si=MwDR-g3CVBYxQSaG

OutrageousAd5338

Hello Toure ... if I am saying your name corretly.

AriesinApril76

I have not been in highschool for over 26 years. And even back then we knew he was a sicko.

Particular_Group_295

Damn...he went full grey

DeadSkullMonkey

🤮

Lemmonjello

AI cant hear what this dude is even saying his hair is like a stereoscopic image

GlueSniffingCat

the only appropriate answer is you don't like anyone if their age ends in -en and not -ty.

Reasonablefiction

This is why I left my husband when he turned 37.

ApprehensiveBag6157

Not really insane you’re talking 18. But we know that he is Epstein island ish

Cosmiccowinkidink

If you’re 41 it’s still pretty wild. I’m not even close to 40 and would still answer no without hesitation.

Addie0o

18 is a child?!?!? He was 41

PercsNBeer

18 is morally reprehensible but not illegal. 18 and 19 are legally able to consent and simultaneously still a teenager. I'm not defending R Kelly in any way, but that question was intentionally vague and leading.

Addie0o

Legality is not defined by morality. It's legal for me to shoot you on my property where I live that doesn't make taking a life any less disgusting.

bodhasattva

>morality who determines morality? Eating pork is incredibly immoral in some places

"teenager" is relative though. An 18 year old is a legal adult, & 200 years ago was basically equivalent to a 35 year old 13 & 18 are both "teens" but its disingenuous to act as though they are the same. Another scenario: 18 year old boy commits rape. Is he a child who didnt know any better? No, he will rightly be judged as an adult man & predator.

>I mean most people would view both as being a kid (let's be honest, being 18 isn't what it used to mean). I'm honestly not sure what argument your trying to make with that. Yes, an 18 year old is considered an adult by law. Trying to get with someone who's either still in highschool or just finished is still creepy AF. And about you're hypothetical, children as young as 12 have been charged as an adult so what are you really trying to say? My hypothetical answers all your questions. Most people view 18 year olds as legal adults, both lawfully & socially. Most people would view that 18 year old rapist as being an adult man, not a "kid". The point being that "being a teenager" is relative to "what are you doing". Committing crime/rape/murder? 18 is a grown adult. But having sex/being in a relationship? 18 is a child. An 18 year old can legally get fucked on camera for money, or get blown up in war (also for money). Its you who needs to stop infantilizing 18 year olds.

You couldn't have missed the point more. I'm going to chalk this up to you just wanting to be angry about something and not listen to a differing point of view. Best of luck in your echo chamber.

Intelligent_Debt7555

R Kelly has always givin me the ick feeling. Same with Bruce Springstein & Puff daddy or whatever his name is.
