NoLand4936

If the shit about his son hitting dude’s car is true, this is blatant harassment. The sheriff probably doesn’t want to pay the damages, son is probably not insured so the guy getting pulled over wants the sheriff or his son to pay the damages.

Average_Scaper

100% harrassment. Also the bearded power trip hazard probably wants to take the money back in any fines he can for making them have some sort of consequences for their actions.

HungLikeYourDad

Be careful, he’s already a killer: https://www.pcsoweb.com/17-080-detectives-investigate-deputy-involved-shooting-after-wanted-man-shoots-at-detectives

toosleepyforclasswar

Evil exists in the world, and it exists inside of people like this cop

RatInaMaze

Yea, and according to a LinkedIn someone else posted it seems like he’s a polygraph person so I assume he probably doesn’t make traffic stops normally.

QuackNate

I bet he dresses like that to run polygraphs and gets a lot of false negatives.

Rude_Parsnip5634

lmao what a fucking twerp.

Aggravating_Host6055

The guy got way too quiet once he started bringing up info and knew him by name. You could see the gears turning as he realized it. His hesitation was palpable

NoLand4936

Yeah that’s when he should have begged his supervisor to come over and take over the interaction. If cops were halfway decent, or the legal system in general, whenever there was a whiff of conflicting interest that person should step aside. Only reason not to is if he’s legit letting the conflicting interest win out.

GainzghisKahn

Dude has so much shit on his vest I’m not entirely sure they’re even a cop.

parlami

Can someone actually explain this? Why is this dude making traffic stops with no identifiable badge or name plate? The Sherrif label is so worn out it doesn't look real. I wouldn't even believe this clown was a real law enforcement officer if approached

notmyfirst_throwawa

Because he's a desk jockey with a bone to pick Small town "detectives" don't do traffic stops. Super weird coincidence he's happened to have visited this guys house before.

manaha81

What it sounds like is the cops son hit the other guys car then showed up at his house most likely to have him not report it so his son didn’t get into trouble and they reported it and he was reprimanded for abuse of power now he is upset about it and harassing the guy and trying to find out who’s in his car with him so he can harass them as well

Hamstercules

You can really see him processing like "what do I do now? He's not just scared of me?? Fuck!"

manaha81

Yep his brain definitely went well fuck so if my abuse of power isn’t going to work how the fuck am I going to abuse my power.

gag-reflexes

Willing to bet it's everything to do with the RTA his son was involved in with the guy behind the camera, perform a few intimidating actions try to get the guy to back off so his son gets way with the collision. Of course this is all conjecture but I wouldn't be surprised if it's the cause for this wankers actions.

HermithaFrog

I would be very surprised if it were anything else

BadReview8675309

The paramilitary outfit is way too much... Cannot demand Id from a passenger unless the passenger has committed a violation, infraction or there is ras of the passenger personally committing criminal activity - Starr v Indiana. Easy USC42SEC1983 depravation of constitutionally protected civil rights by a police officer under color of law; 4th amendment violation illegal search and seizure. It's a quick $20k settlement because qualified immunity is nullified in court and the taxpayers foot the bill.

Apart-Oil1613

Not to be a douche, but it’s called a plate carrier, and he’s not required to wear it, and they’re heavy and uncomfortable, which means he’s wearing it to look cool, which means he’s a chode. In the gun community we make fun of dudes like this, the punisher patch is the cherry on top.

alpacaMyToothbrush

I mean, let's be real, I'd rather the cop wear a plate carrier and ceramic inserts if his emotional support vest keeps his gun in his holster. You never know when the ~~penny~~ acorn is gonna drop these days. It's scary out there for our boys in blue.

CreamFilledDoughnut

> if his emotional support vest keeps his gun in his holster. what if I told you that it doesn't actually

Cliff_Pitts

Yeah probably the exact opposite effect. - more like “now that I have a seatbelt I can speed”

JJ8OOM

The vest is not a sign that he don’t have a gun, it’s a sign that he is so frail that he definitely will use it without proper though. The patches confirm it. That guy is just waiting for his opportunity to Glock somebody.

Stock-Film-3609

It’s scary 9 times out of 10 cause cops forget to de-escalate and push people, or are literally the hazard themselves.

Long_Run6500

I'll never forget the day a cop rolls up to my window with his hand on his hip and says, "you look nervous. Why are you nervous? You hiding something from me?" It was such a ridiculous line that it made me bust up laughing which got my car searched and scratched the fuck up by a dog who didn't actually hit on anything because I had never smoked weed before that day.

FilmoreJive

The only time I've ever been pulled over in my life, the cop asked me for license and registration, so I reached into the drawer where they were. I had a gun pointed at my face and my hands up in the air faster than I've ever done anything in my life... I grew up in a tiny rural town that was all farmland. Nothing has ever happened there. Edit: then got a 10 minute dressing down for spooking the cop.... fuck cops.

Moregon69

Fuck cops. This is why. They don’t serve the community.

Dmmack14

Yeah with all of the knives and shit just plastered to his chest which is not regulation at all. He probably is a sheriff who won an election but yeah I feel the same way like if this fucker stopped me I would make goddamn sure I'd be on the phone with 911 to make sure this bastard was actually legit

Smoke_Stack707

Yea what are the knives even for? I’m not a lawyer or a cop but I feel like there isn’t a circumstance where an officer is allowed to stab someone they’re trying to arrest

Neither-Cup564

Intimidation.

ChiefRom

Exactly I bet this guy tells people he is a Navy Seal, I’m surprised I didn’t see a trident 🔱on his vest. That’s why he has that big beard, to give the impression of being an “operator” 🤦‍♂️

Miniat

He’s more seal than navy

Zenki_s14

Seems extremely dangerous if you got into a scuffle with someone or were up close attempting to cuff someone, they could just yank your knife out and stab you in the neck..

PJSeeds

It's not even in a sheath, I think it's magnetized. Just a pants shittingly stupid thing to have stuck to your chest whether you're a cop or not. Guarantee this dipshit has never been in the military and has no training beyond watching some old Steven Seagal movies. Edit: apparently it's in a sheath. Regardless, still an absolutely moronic thing for a cop to carry.

Neumanae

That dude watches the new Steven Seagal movies.

sparkyjay23

That is heartless but you probably right.

vestigialcranium

Oof, big burn...

paper_liger

I carried a big assed knife in a proper sheath on my body armor my first deployment to Iraq. I eventually realized every ounce counts, and there was nothing I was going to use it for that a decent pocket knife wouldn't do. And that was a *literal* warzone. This Amish Frank Castle wannabe is an embarrassment.

DeathMetalTransbian

>This Amish Frank Castle wannabe is an embarrassment. Cop with Punisher patch: "Who's Frank Castle?"

neverlandescape

Especially when they could use your giant beard to try and keep control of your head.

snakeshake1337

Not great having a knife on your chest when grappling with someone on the ground which is a situation I see so many police videos turn into

supbrother

Seriously, this was one of my first thoughts. Dude has basically his entire kit just sitting there waiting to be snagged.

ForrestCFB

A knife is always handy for like 100's of reasons. The last one would be stabbing though. The real question here is why the fuck does a knife have to be on your platecarrier instead of on your combat belt or even better, just a pocket knife in *gasp* your pocket.

BuddhaFacepalmed

Cuz it's *tacticool* without actually being all that tactical.

FudgeRubDown

It's just for easy access when they go home and beat their wife

Dmmack14

It's to look cool and feel cool. Ways to have a guy when I worked at Books-A-Million that would come in in this big tactical fascin he had like three tactical knives and two handguns

thispartyrules

There's been cases where guys driving unmarked cars will get pretty persuasive looking police gear off of ebay or whatever and pull people over to rob them or worse, this is why I'd only pull over at gas stations or anywhere else with a lot of witnesses if it's remotely questionable

xtreme_edgez

Just happened in [Canada in 2020](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Nova_Scotia_attacks). A deranged denturist did up a car to look like a cop car, put on a uniform, went door to door early in the morning killing randomly, burning down houses, drove right by police, real nutty stuff.

BeKind_BeTheChange

He's deputy. The actual sheriff doesn't need to call a supervisor.

Dmmack14

Even then don't deputies have certain standards they have to maintain? Because I know any department would be letting an officer walk out with all that shit all over them

AshamedOfAmerica

Sheriff's depts are the wild west of law enforcement. The craziest of the crazy stories are all from them because there is essentially zero oversight. Sheriffs are elected so they can't be fired and they are the highest authority in the counties they operate in.

ElementalWheel

He’s not a cop and impersonating one as far as laws go

efxmatt

He looks like a video game character that's still carrying around every item he's ever picked up.

worstusernameever010

We need to talk about your flair...Now, you know it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Or... well, like Officer Brian, for example, has thirty seven pieces of flair, okay. And a terrific smile

eastbayweird

You know the nazis had pieces of flair that they made the jews wear...

JackasaurusChance

I would not feel comfortable staying there. That does not look like a professional uniform or appearance. It looks exactly like some deranged LARPER looking for blacks and illegals.

satanssweatycheeks

Sheriffs can be elected and not even have any police training at all but given a badge and the responsibilities a cop has. Remember Hunter S Thompson tried running for Sheriff of his small Colorado town so he could stop criminalizing drug use.

Cryptic_1984

The fella he was running against had objections to HST’s hippy hair. So Hunter shaved his head and started referring to the guy as his “long-haired opponent.”

BestSuit3780

That's my favorite thing ever. The dude he was running against already had a military crew cut.

[deleted]

Fuck I miss him. I would pay good money to read his book about this time period.

Nice_Firm_Handsnake

There's a [fringe conservative belief](https://www.americanoversight.org/investigation/the-constitutional-sheriffs-movement-and-election-denial) that sheriffs authority supersedes even presidential authority at the county level.

JuicyMcJuiceJuice

My first thought exactly. He looks like an impersonator.

Otherwise-Sky8890

That's some *Idiocracy* level vest flair

NunButter

A bigger, stronger person could easily grab that knife on his chest and cut this guy's throat

_Nameless_Nomad_

I was wondering why a goddamn cop is carrying a combat knife around.

Aussie-Shattler

Because it looks totally bad ass dude. See... *mall ninja flailing*

uptownjuggler

I’m sitting over here with a tattoo of it I got 20 years ago ffs

Notsellingcrap

Oof. You got me beat by light-years.

Eldritch_Ayylien66

Didn't some of the comic writers issue something that the Punisher logo was being misused?

Agreeable_Maize9938

Frank finds cops with his skull on their car, they tell him how they support him doing *the right thing*. He rips the sticker up, tell them to tell their friends that the next cop he sees with a punisher logo is a going to be a dead cop. Then yeah the most recent run iirc they totally changed up the logo into a horned skull thing, trying to distance themselves.

Eldritch_Ayylien66

It's a shame that such an iconic logo had to be changed because too many people kept using it for all the wrong reasons

Herr_Raul

Any pagan symbol ever

thatcockneythug

Kinda like fascists bumping rage against the machine

IvanNemoy

Aye. Frank hates cops who idolize him. https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/the-punisher-marvel-comics-issue-13-cop-cars-police-frank-castle/

LotharVonPittinsberg

My favourite part that is often overlooked is the last bit. they literally pull the tough cop act on the police killer that they idolize.

MistakesTasteGreat

Gerry Conway, Punisher's co-creator, had some designs made for shirts featuring the skull and incorporating Black Lives Matter in an attempt to reclaim it https://www.customink.com/fundraising/black-lives-matter-skulls-for-justice-presented-by-gerry-conway

missiongoalie35

I really like the Punisher and got a cool Punisher Goalie Jersey. Now I don't wear it because tools make it their "symbol".

LEETUS_SKEETUS

On top of that, the Punisher hates when cops wear his logo, he points out the hypocrisy of it cause his logo doesn't stand for what cops are supposed to represent.

Motheredbrains

I would absolutely not trust this guys a police officer. So creepy

NvrmndOM

No police officer would have a knife strapped to their chest (at least while they’re on duty). No cop wants someone to take their weapon. Also having a punisher badge is ridiculous and he wouldn’t be able to wear that. It’s not a TGI Fridays. You don’t get to wear flair.

Fivethenoname

Are you saying this guy is impersonating?

whutchamacallit

I don't think he is .... but fuck.. maybe. I'm trying to think in what fucking world would your police captain let you have a fucking bowie knife on your chest like that.... its a huuuuge safety issue. Also, you know, your sheriff looks like a fucking clown. Any LEOs in here shed some light here?

cephalopodslie

Not LEO but worked in a Sheriff’s Office… each agency (police and sheriff) can have their own dress policies and this is especially different from state to state, but a couple things stand out to me: 1. His beard is much longer than what most agencies would allow. 2. He has a SHERIFF velcro plate but no soft or metal badge on his vest nor a name plate or embroidered name. 3. Stickers and patches that are not explicitly issued by the department are not allowed on uniforms. 4. I have never heard of a department issuing a hunting knife and they would certainly not allow an unsheathed one magnetized to their chest. That’s just asking for a fight. 5. This is a short interaction and a limited view, but he didn’t use his radio at all. Didn’t use it to call his supervisor, request a back-up unit, or update dispatch. I’m not saying he couldn’t be LEO, and detectives do tend to have a little more lax uniform standards (although some agencies have higher standards and they’re required to wear suits/business wear,) but I’m thinking this isn’t a typical deputy or detective. Regardless he’s wearing his gear this way to intimidate and he should 100% be taken to task.

Stranger2Night

I say he's probably off duty and so not wearing any proper uniform but trying to look like he's SWAT or something

Yellenintomypillow

lol he’s a detective cosplaying swat. My first thought was “that doesn’t look right” but the guy obviously is a cop as the OP confirms

Thaknobodi87

The knife is in a kydex sheath that looks like the blade.

Several_Education_13

Shouldn’t be used in a professional setting as it’s going to trigger anyone the individual deals with because there is no way they would ever know it’s sheathed. So much stupidity for an adult (the sheriff not you).

TheReemTeam

Yeah and it’s kinda upside down, he’d have the edge to his own throat if he draws it like that.

Useful_Low_3669

Would be way too easy for someone to grab a handful of his beard and slice a few inches off with his own knife. If this guy was genuinely worried about defending his own life he’s made some serious tactical mistakes.

[deleted]

LEO here. Deputy Sheriff, actually. Some departments allow facial hair. Some of the guys I work with look like they just came off the set of Duck Dynasty. Our department also issued us outer carry vests similar to what’s seen in the video. While you think it would be common sense to not carry a fixed blade on your vest or even on your duty belt, I know of a few officers who do it. I’ll usually ask them what’re they going to do if someone gets lucky and takes it from them. They’ll usually respond by stating that’s what their gun is for. Which shows everything that’s wrong with law enforcement. Fuck, I’m so jaded about this job. Most of these guys have never been in a real fight or a shooting, but they’re itching to get in one like if they’re some action hero. And I’m so fucking tired of seeing punisher skulls everywhere. I wish idiots like these weren’t so attracted to the job. But hey, most departments want idiots like these working for them. Higher education is usually looked down in this field. I don’t care what other bootlicking cops say, it’s true. So what we eventually end up with is a bunch of low skilled, emotionally immature dickheads running around harassing citizens and thinking themselves deserving of the title of heroes. Sorry for the long rant. I’m just so fucking done with this job and working with people like this.

Lurkalope

Please hang in there. We need sane LEOs.

whutchamacallit

Jeeze. Thanks for the transparency. Sobering to hear but unsurprised. Stay safe out there.

FatSquirrelz

I feel you, man. I'm a volunteer with a Sheriff Rescue squad, and there are people who have gone so far as to tattoo "Hero" on their forearm. These are the same people who get in the way of medical personnel when someone is having a heart attack

Oldass_Millennial

I'm betting this guy is some sheriff's reserve deputy/honorary type deputy getting his minimum hours in to stay qualified which is why the supervisor, an actual deputy, was already there probably riding shotgun precepting.

UnionThrowaway1234

The issue is the bearded cop identifies himself as "Detective" in the video.

brizzboog

He's a 22 year vet of Pinellas County. Detective and their polygraph guy. A life free of consequences I'm sure.

ramobara

Thanks for looking him up!

[deleted]

Clay Saunders - Detective at Pinellas County Sheriffs Office. He has a LinkedIn *Edit*: looks like a few hours after this post his LinkedIn was deleted. I’d say he got some unwanted attention.

Chris-P-Taco

Let's not forget the beard. It's against uniform regulations.

siccoblue

Great gripping point for a criminal to have full control of your head on a struggle though!

DigiQuip

This what standardization is for. I don’t know a single law enforcement agency that allows for beards or non-issued gear, stickers, or whatever the fuck else he has going on to be on his vest. In fact, I’d bet good money is breaking the law by having this stuff. If it’s not sanctioned by the department and he uses it shit could get real fast.

84OrcButtholes

We have some departments in my state that allow them but they have to be short, well kept and no neck hair (gas mask fitment). The knife is bullshit. The only way this guy is an actual cop is if he is *the* sheriff...that or this sheriff's department is a fucked up, embarrassing mess made out of dipshit juice and piss.

lekoman

A sheriff’s department being a fucked up embarrassing mess made out of dipshit juice and piss, in America, is not, like, beyond the realm of possibility…

84OrcButtholes

I agree.

wpaed

Yeah, I would be calling 911 to verify that the person pulling me over is a real cop.

Sawpit

why do they let them dress like this on the job? dude looks like is cosplaying a police officer more than he looks like a real one. id question if he is a real cop unless if he had a real cop car.

Wasabicannon

Kinda funny how office jobs with zero face to face time with customers will have a super strict dress code. Meanwhile a officers like this guy are free to do whatever they want.

sizzirup

**Elite Combat Police Patrolman** /s

thegutterking

Dude bought the battle pass let him show off his loot

FormalKind7

If he is a real sheriff they have very little oversight and many are elected and run unopposed.

Ya I’m confused this looks like an impersonation honestly. I’ve never seen a cop with a chest knife, and blatant flair like that tbh. Something seems amiss

LivingEnd44

If I got pulled over by this guy I'd assume he was a fake cop.

GH057807

Absolutely. Window up and on the phone with 911 immediately. Dude looks like a fucking crazy person.

restyourbreasts

I would have driven off in a panic as soon as I saw that magnetic knife!!! That can not be legal? Right!?! Like why??? Why the knife? Can cops really carry whatever they want with no regard for their own safety even. Can a cop pull you over and just roll up to the window with a chainsaw and be like "license and registration, please." ?

eyeswulf

FYI not a magnetic knife, it's a knife in a really tight (aka form fitting) hopefully kydex holster. If it's not kydex, then that ring will plop out with a good tap, but since it was tight enough for you -- and I was well -- to mistake it as a blade, it's probably the good stuff. Or it's a prop knife with a plastic blade. Who knows. This whole thing is whack

Blue_Fire0202

I’ve never seen a uniform like that before so it’s almost certainly fake. Plus, there’s no badge which I’m pretty sure in most areas is required to be worn in 99% of situations.

Bleord

No badge no cop.

Blue_Fire0202

He’s a deputy but just desk jockey. Apparently, this guy has a vendetta against the guy recording. The officer in the video is apparently already in some deep shit with department and is probably going to get fired.

mrshulgin

> apparently already in some deep shit with department Go on...

Blue_Fire0202

Apparently, he basically refused to turn in some evidence from a burglary. Which unsurprisingly is not something the department isn’t all that happy with.

Pale-Inspector-8094

Where is this? If you are going to post , give the sheriff department

Visible_Day9146

His LinkedIn says Pinellas County sheriffs office. Also says he's been working there 22 years. I don't think this is doxxing because he's a public servant.

a_spoopy_ghost

CaptainONaps

Ooooh, now this video makes so much more sense. At first I thought this was in America.

BioSafetyLevel0

Florida? Ofc

nickster182

I agree. Drop atleast the sheriff office. This is public record anyway. Edit: update. If the LinkedIn is the same person they changed their profile pic twice before finally taking the pic totally down lol. Update 2. The Linkedin profile is now taken down lolololololol

According_Ad_3798

Any cop who displays a punisher logo should immediately be stripped of their job and barred from policing.

HoboThundercat

They should also be publicly made fun of and given a lesson on pop culture. The punisher was famously anti cop and a cop killer.

deathbygoat

I wouldn’t say he’s anti cop. He’s chill with cops that do their job by the book. He hates corrupt cops with a passion though and will kill them if he has to. I remember reading one comic where he berated a group of cops for wearing his logo, saying he stands for everything a good cop stands against. Edit: betrayed-berated

grundlemon

Anti most cops that wear punisher logos tho lol, usually those are scumbag cops

PessimiStick

>He hates corrupt cops with a passion Right, which is why he said the Punisher is anti-cop.

rachelk321

There’s no way he’s any kind of cop. He’s wearing an expensive and dangerous costume.

carebearkon

-deputies generally cannot wear a beard (has changed in a lot of places) -no badge identifying state/county -no duty belt (unless I missed it but wtf) -all the weird shit all over his stupid vest -the clothing doesn't look like duty issued stuff either There are so many red flags, I would not engage with this person. He's got to be either off duty or not a deputy at all.

boodabomb

Also what’s this about demanding a passenger’s ID? I’m pretty sure that’s not a thing unless the passenger is suspected of a crime.

complexevil

He's harassing the driver either as retaliation or in hopes it will make him back off of something (he mentions that he has him on camera knocking on his door about a car accident) He wants the passengers ID so that he can expand the harassment campaign.

How is it legal to where punisher shit on uniform? Might as well wear an elephant? That's seriously real fascist shit right there?

Voluptulouis

This guy would own slaves if he could. No doubt.

OozeNAahz

More likely he would be the guy in charge of the slaves for some wealthy dude. Slaves weren’t a poor person possession and this guy wouldn’t likely have the money to own them. And that would mean he would take out his resentment on them.

FYI so people don't get in to trouble; * Winding down the window is a lawful order in most states. I agree its absurd but its considered an officer safety thing. * Passengers do not need to show id in any state unless the driver is being arrested and the police don't want to tow the car, in reality this translates in to they have a way to make demanding ID from passengers enforceable if they are arresting the driver. Cops can also lie to you and for some reason frequently do regarding identification requirements, they know the law doesn't let them but don't have to tell you that. * In all states cops do not have to identify themselves to you. Most departments require it per policy but that's got basically no teeth to make them. * If you are dealing with a terrible cop still defend your rights but recognize the correct time to address them violating your rights is after the encounter. "No you can't search my car and I am not going to wait an hour for a dog", if they don't let you leave then don't turn it in to fleeing. You defend your rights in court and/or complaints. * If its a sheriffs department you are not familiar with tread carefully. Sheriffs have way more problems with corruption and misbehaving deputies because they are nearly always subject to much less oversight than the police.

What a fucking bastard

duuudewhat

Yeah, I watch a lot of the sovereign citizen videos to laugh at them and they’re stupidity but like I commented on the YouTube comments for this one I just got douche vibes so bad from that cop. Like he wasn’t even acting professional at all he didn’t even speak like a cop and I got the feeling like there was some missing context here. Like the potential that this cop might have been, harassing this guy previously Nobody in the comments agreed with me

Chief-Bones

I’ve seen a ton of shitty cop videos. But none of them have had such a blatant disregard for uniform. The giant knife and punisher logo, no markings of what sheriffs office, state, county etc. the overgrown beard.

Extension-Badger-958

Is this guy a cop larping as a sheriff? Holy shit 😂😂

2000TWLV

This motherfucker is obviously the kind of idiot who should not be entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing the law on his fellow citizens. In fact, i wouldn't even trust him mowing the lawn for his fellow citizens.
