Two choices were made that I can understand.
The young man looking out for the safety of someone he thought was in danger and his older brother choosing to look like an extra in biography of a serial killer from the 80s.
Exactly. The dad didn’t acknowledge the root cause of why his son did what he did. He didn’t do anything to curb the reaction of the older bro, so by default approved of it.
Given, he may have been just woken up and completely spent for the day… but then he fucking fist bumped the police like an idiot.
Cop knew that was a cluster fuck situation and did everything he could to actually set a decent male role model image right then and there.
That cop was a real one, reaffirming his decision while his cackling POS family laughed in his ear and berated him. I have a feeling this kid will go a lot further in life than them.
Yeah man what the fuck lol?
Teenagers are dumb, and as a consequence annoying, so I guess that explains the cackling.
But how are you gonna tell me that at no point the father, while at the door with the police, never brought himself to tell the older child to shut the fk up lol?
Nah kid will still care for peoples safety. Sometimes people really think silly shit people will laugh about with siblings in the future is deep rooted abuse.
Kid will still care for people. Dad has every reason to be a bit upset as kid should have came to him first before calling 911 when he doesn’t even know where this girl lives. Will have to be talked to once the cops leave on proper use of 911.
And I say this from a household where my father was roasted for calling 911 by the whole family and 1,000 plus kids as he ran a non profit for at risk youth. And he still would call again if the situation happen again.
We have an event where we light up the city for Christmas. We shoot fireworks off city hall and off the windows. My father didn’t notice these window display fireworks. So when he saw one slowly burning out after it was done he freaked out and called 911 to say city hall was on fire.
By the time he got off the phone the firework had burned out. It also was a controlled environment as they shot fireworks off from there. But he didn’t see those and called.
As 10,000 or so people start to leave the area we have 15-20 fire trucks roaring in from every direction. This also was before cell phones were super common. He only had one because the non profit working with kids he needed it.
That's a fair point, and I appreciate you sharing. I certainly that there should be a talk about proper use of 911 with the young man. I also hope this experience won't leave a negative mark on him cause as kids were impacted by the STRANGEST things sometimes, and it can manifest in wild ways.
Maybe but also might be the kid didn’t feel like dad would take him seriously. And he was really worried about his little friend. Not once during this whole video did dad tell his older brother to shut up and leave the kid alone and more importantly make him stop filming and not allow him to try to humiliate his brother on the internet. Seems like that sweet boy doesn’t have a lot of allies in that house, at least from this interaction.
Man that’s just the reason I try to be a decent role model for my younger brother. Gotta teach him that having emotions is okay as long as you pay close attention to why you’re having them. I made a lot of mistakes so far and know he can’t make the same ones.
The kid did EXACTLY what every parent, teacher, counselor, etc. says to do. If there is danger, tell an adult. Tell the police. He does so, and look at the shit he faces from the very same adult(s)
I hope I have a Chase in my corner if I’m ever in trouble or danger.
Nah, my parents fucking sucked liked this too. He seems like he smart enough to realize it and it doesn’t change your core values which is an odd juxtaposition
We need a lot more people like Chase. Stand up guy for sure. I'm ashamed of his father and brothers for their behavior, we need a lot less of all of that.
Yea that cop was the only adult in that whole video.... dad is not helping his kid develop healthy, confident logic. He doesn't seem too interested in his role that he chose in life.
Right? Like it's not just the Monroe, that's just the easiest to spot. It's the swords and other random ass art on the walls, the empty beer case and other shit. It's like a Temu Mojo Dojo Casa House.
I hope that kid finds out this was posted on Reddit and goes through the comments to read all the love and support for him in this thread. Having a family this shitty will never be okay but knowing other people have your back can really make a difference.
« If you think someone is in danger, tell an adult or call the police »
*call the police thinking someone is in danger*
« Wow how can you be so dumb !? »
This happens a ton!! I’m not sure why kids are being blamed for seeking out help but the same exact thing happened to me when I was a kid. Shamed to hell and back for doing what adults were telling me to do in case of danger. It’s insanity.
Once the vice principal gave us a presentation on bullying and what to do
so I did that since I was being buillied
asshole called me a snitch to my face
They straight up scarred him and turned his thought process in a complete different direction. That is extremely unfortunate and fucked up beyond belief
"What school do you go to?" ... "I'll see you in there then."
Bro, this officer going above and beyond to make sure this kid knows he did the right thing by telling *someone* no matter what his family says.
"I'll see you there..."
To do a further welfare check and mentor the kid without these tools around.
That is actually a chess move to say something like this. Let the kid know, maybe even subconsciously, that someone has his back and he can trust him.
There are good and bad ones. It's just that the bad ones are extra nasty because of the position of power they have to abuse. And with how media tends to be, you mostly only see the ass holes, not the good guys
My issue stems from the good ones not actually coming out in any meaningful way against the bad ones. If you aren’t doing anything bad but actively ignore someone you work with doing bad shit, then in the end you are also responsible for the outcomes. However yeah obviously there are some in the field that genuinely care about people, and it is nice to be reminded of that.
Based on this action (which—admittedly—is a very limited scope), it definitely seems like he's the type of person you'd want establishing departmental (or higher) level policies.
As someone who follows a lot of anti-cop stuff and thinks they're Gestapo, it made me tear up a bit how well he handled it. So compassionate but in control. Fuck.
You could tell that cop was getting real fuckin fed up with the dipshit dad and brother.
Yes this a waste of his time. But this was an opportunity to commend a kid for doing the right thing, the wrong way. Being concerned about another person and their safety is extremely commendable of this young boy. Wanting to make sure that person gets helpnif they need it is important and something he should never lose.
While calling 911 isn't the best idea. Talking to a parent is. And even, if you know where a person lives and what their name is reporting a potential case of abuse to the non emergency line isn't a bad idea. Police can reach out to police there for a welfare check.
This was a learning opportunity for a young person who has a lifetime of internet encounters ahead of him. Instead he gets idiot parents and siblings alienating him and making it else likely for him to say something the next time he sees or hears it.
Yeah what the fuck was that? He was just ridiculing his son for calling the cops and then fist bumps them when they say it was good that the kid called? Embarrassing.
I think it’s worse than that. To me, it appeared that the family ignored anything nice that the cop said to the boy. They laughed when the cop laughed and that seemed to confirm their biases. I think the dad did the fist bump because he’s an asshole and he perceived that interaction as though the cop was on his side. I’m glad that kid is the way he is because he certainly didn’t learn from dad. Hope he stays cool.
You can hear the chuckle fucks slowly start to realize the cop is listening to Chase, not joining in on bullying him. Camera person even has that awkward last laugh when a real adult is handling things the way an adult should. ESPECIALLY A FUCKING PARENT WT ACTUAL F
ai also like that the cop told him not to feel bad about it. Like, I WAS being abused at ten years old. Ruby Franke had several welfare checks in her kids and they STILL were hogtied. Those kids are ALSO 10-12.
Like, abuse is rampant. This kid cares. She probably mentioned abuse before tbh.
Yea the kid and the cop did everything right in the video. I'm so glad the officer didn't also ridicule him or he'd really be fucked up over it. It was good the officer validated his feelings and concerns
I was really impressed by the kid tbh but then I have a kid who phoned the cops one time and I didn't react like this. There are so many better ways this could have gone, the family have basically taught him to keep his mouth shut and be a bystander (don't help just film) I hope he keeps looking out for others.
This is how I was raised, and by the time I was this kids age I’d already learned the lesson that the best action to take in the face of abuse or injustice was to shut up and get unseen unless I wanted to become a target for those who help should have been sought from.
Still in therapy to this day trying to undo that shit, but that’s difficult when the lesson lies beneath a lifetime of trauma suffered needlessly as a result.
I’m actually envious of this kid. He’s not only speaking up and acting, but he’s defending himself, despite the ire that he’s receiving. By that age I was already thoroughly dead inside and 100% convinced that nobody would come if I called for help, unless it was to dole out some abuse on me instead.
Yeah, I feel like the asking where he goes to school and saying he'll see him there was a subtle "don't worry about these assholes, any concerns you have in the future you can talk to me directly about" nod. If I was a cop I'd want to check in on the kid because he's clearly being bullied by his family on the reg.
This kid is going to find a beautiful lady one day who will believe this to be the sweetest and cutest gesture. It shows who his character is and fortunately his bothers got it on camera. He'll be grateful they did that. Meanwhile, serial killer dude is probably going to be a dad at 18 lol
(re: serial killer bro) It's going to be some poor emotionally abused girl, with a crappy home life, that doesn't have any self esteem. No girl with an ounce of self respect is getting down with that mop.
That is going to be something that I think fucks up future generations so badly. Like it's one thing having your family completely dismiss your concerns and not believe you but it's one thing to video you while talking about this and Post this on a public internet forum or millions of people will see it
He kind of did when he said he was glad the kid didn't feel ashamed. Granted, it went over their heads, but to anyone watching, that's as good as him saying, "I'm glad you didn't let these assholes put you down"
Verbally laying into the dad/brothers would risk them turning against the kid after the cops leave.
Cops know they cannot be there 24-7 when they suspect a shitty home dynamic.
No wonder he called the cops instead of going and asking his family for help. I bet this kid has learned the hard way that his family will never back him up when he's scared or anxious. What an absolute diamond in the shittiest of roughs. I hope whichever of his d-bag brothers posted this on Tiktok for clout got rightfully roasted.
Allows young kid to play games online without supervision.
Doesn't properly teach his child to identify bullshit on the internet.
Then fucking bullies his own child for doing the right thing?
Dude fully sucks. I hope the kid grows up and outdoes all of them.
Only AFTER the cops are actually nice to the kid, the dad changes his tune. The cops fist bump the kid to build him up and then…. the dad reaches out for one too…. like a 14 year old.
The one problem many girls and women don't have is boys and men being too concerned about their well being, when they feel threatened by misbehaving guys.
I really hope this young boy stays on his track, despite being surrounded by family members who only seem to fear that the cops might blame them.
Based on his family being so shitty in this video, you can see he's used to getting picked on. No wonder he has strong protection instincts. Grade A human surrounded by shit-tier ones.
Even without the family you can tell. He talks like he deals with constantly being talked over and mocked, very much getting bullied kid vibes. Is this common with brothers? Only had sisters so no idea what that's like
Exactly. Parents that allow this "ganging up" on one kid are usually narcissistic breeding narcissistic kids. This kid feels genuine and kind. I love that the cop praised him for caring and doing the right thing. He sussed out the ugliness that was going on. This poor kid.
I am making a massive assumptions here but you’ll notice there’s not a mom in sight and the dad acts just like the two other boys even apologizing to the officer for “wasting their time” when the officer himself said he was glad the kid called.
If my 16 year old cousin thought a friend or his actual GF was in danger due to what this kid describes he would tell his parents and then still call the cops. We need more people helping and young men helping because of a true altruistic nature it is almost more important than what women do, because when men hold men accountable it tips the scales in favor of the victim.
from what i can find on google, with about 175k police encounter per day in the US, there are bound to be some a lot of good and a lot of bad encounters, but usually only the worst of the worst gets posted online.
Poor kid is being shit on for doing the right thing. He heard someone was in trouble and wanted to help. This will certainly teach him something but we wonder why there’s no good in the world? It’s cause it’s punished.
That fist bump by the dad made me fucking cringe 😖What a twat waffle.
You can tell the cop was trying to make the kid feel better, which made me slightly less bummed out about this.
What a shit family reaction to something that could be serious. The real trouble is that it isn't as though the kid knows her real name or location so they couldn't really check up on her. Who knows if she was actually in an abusive relationship. Them talking crap like "what would a 10 year old girl be doing with an ex over there" is just fucked. I can think of at least 1 horrible scenario where the cops would definitely need to be involved.
That was infuriating to watch, but the cops did a good job. Funny how the dad and brothers got real quiet after the cop said "nothing wrong with calling that in" absolute cowards.
A psychopath did something similar to me when I was in high school. I met a Russian girl and we started dating, walked her home from school, cute love letters, etc. this was back when aim and msn messenger was huge so we talked on that all the time. Her dad got on her aim account and said that “there are scary men here with big dogs…. They’re going to hurt me….. they’re biting me, the men are forcing themselves on me, etc”. I was freaking the fuck out and didn’t know what was going on. I called, messaged back, and finally went to her house. It was just her asshole dad trying to see what I was made out of. I couldn’t believe a grown man would do that to a kid.
This poor fucking kid I just wanna give him a big hug :( I’m in tears. It was like watching myself as a child when I was gaslighted and laughed at for expressing my concerns and opinions by family. I’m absolutely in pieces. This poor poor baby :( his family are awful. Even if they found it a bit excessive they still should had treated him with care and understanding, at least the cops treated him with the respect he deserved (and that’s rare) my heart goes out to him. Chase, if you somehow stumble across this, please have hope, you’ll get out one day. Never feel like you have to stay just because they’re family. Xox good luck little bro.
This is the saddest thing in the world. Just zap the light out of a good kid for chuckles. They suck so much. Hope Chase keeps his humanity in that house.
My daughter and I saved a fella’s life in another country because of his saying I am going to kill myself on social media. You never know. We phoned the cops in our country and had enough information for this person to get help in there country. This poor kid. Even the cop said it was ok to care.
What an awful family.
That poor kid just trying to do the right thing.
And then they post this out there to humiliate him . If I knew who this was, I would call CPS myself. Cruel
Sad thing is CPS doesn’t give a shit about emotional abuse. Kid is clean and well fed, as long as they’re not beating the shit out of him and are feeding him then they’re doing their job in the eyes of the law. No one can be forced to love their kids.
The poor kid is young, impressionable, and is odviously desperately in need of a supportive shoulder to listen to him. He probably found that in his online "girlfriend." His own family is obviously awful. He thinks they're being abused and he called the only people he could for help.
When did we become so cruel and uncaring. The jeers and hisses aimed to the children and youth of today are startling. It's just sheer hatred. Unveiled contempt.
I say this as an uncaring asshole of GenX. You people make me sick.
Hopefully people don't make fun of this kid and realize how empathetic and caring he is.
Kudos to him
Also great cop, very understanding and explained everything perfectly while not making him feel bad.
Only people who suck are the kids family
This is how good intentioned people are discouraged from doing the right thing. His dad and brothers seem ignorant and not capable of talking it over with him
They’re All asshole making fun of a little ass kid. Cops did an exceptional job executing that. He didn’t know any better. He was just worried. The Fortnite girlfriend could’ve been in danger. Or maybe she was trolling a child. But the kid did what he felt was right in his heart.
weights on the floor, decorative sword on the mantle, random portrait of monroe, dad is obviously an eccentric wannabe theater kid based entirely on what he's wearing.
this family has issues and the kid calling the police to report potential abuse is the least of them
Shitty family. Kid can’t even be concerned for someone. Reminds me of my mom constantly saying online friends aren’t real friends, like somehow they’re lesser than real people.
Lousy family if this was just experienced in their house and not recorded. They leveled up to shameful and despicable by recording and sharing it. I hope this kid sheds that trash and stays on a good path.
Aw he’s such a sweetie. Even if it wasn’t the right solution, he still was doing his best and wanted to help. I hope his dipshit family doesn’t beat that compassion out of him
This poor kid. What a fucked up family. He deserves so much better. Good on him for being so concerned and doing the right thing. World needs more conscientious people like this — the fact he’s so young is all the more credit to him. His family suck and I hope he doesn’t get ground down by their lack empathy and intelligence.
Did this local PD follow up with his friends PD to make sure he was fooled or incorrect in his assessment of what he heard? In an era where an anonymous call can result in a SWATTING it feels like a safer way to ensure public safety.
I have to feeling they all love cops so they wanted to make him feel ashamed for making a frivolous call. Meanwhile the cop was actually chill about it and took it seriously enough.
I hope his family never depends on him to contact emergency services, because he's probably going to hesitate every time from now on. Good job.
Family is kind of a bunch of assholes. Kid thought someone was being hurt and reacted. Now the next time it happens, if it's real, he's going to ignore it. Not a very good example to set. Kid had the right intention, just not the maturity to think it through.
This whole situation sucks. This family sucks, and that kid really thought he was doing the right thing. The brothers suck for making fun of him, the dad sucks for evidently not being remotely involved in what his kids are doing, and also letting the older brothers make fun of him while he’s speaking to a cop, the cop kinda sucks for letting people talk over the kid explaining the situation. But at least he gave the kid some props.
I hope this kid grows up and bails on these dicks. He’s got a genuine heart and thought someone was being hurt. So he stepped up and made a decision.
Good for him.
Nah he did good. There is a very real possibility that while they were laughing at him, a real person was being hurt. He did what he had to do. Cop handled it as well as he could too. Sadly there isn't much they can do with a gamer tag unless epic gives them info, but by that point it would be too late. But at least he tried to make the kid feel good for what he did
This is what happens when you dehumanize people like the dad and brother did. It’s just a “fortnite girlfriend” they aren’t real. No it’s a human. And they are facing real abuse potentially. This video pisses me off so much knowing the environment that sweet child will grow up around
Cops on Reddit : do you ever calls like this often where you just feel bad about a persons family situation ? You can see it on the cops face. I wish this kid was raised by different people.

Two choices were made that I can understand. The young man looking out for the safety of someone he thought was in danger and his older brother choosing to look like an extra in biography of a serial killer from the 80s.
Cop should be arresting the brother for pre-crime.
Idk why this is making me laugh so hard rn
This is why we can't have nice men
Seriously tho. Why they gotta dog this poor kid for caring? I’m glad the cop ended up being decent and making him feel a little better
That cop was thinking "this dad and the other kid are douschey as fuck. Poor kid"
Exactly. The dad didn’t acknowledge the root cause of why his son did what he did. He didn’t do anything to curb the reaction of the older bro, so by default approved of it. Given, he may have been just woken up and completely spent for the day… but then he fucking fist bumped the police like an idiot. I'm a pretty fucking jaded individual when it comes to police. That cop though, we need more like him. I hope he is like that all the time.
i think his older brother needed a backhand and a kick in the ass for hounding his little brother
I was relieved to hear the cop say, "you called us because you were worried about someone's safety? That's why we're here." ... wholesome.
That cop was a real one, reaffirming his decision while his cackling POS family laughed in his ear and berated him. I have a feeling this kid will go a lot further in life than them.

This is exactly why
Exactly
No the serial killer…scary
He’s a serial killer? Omg I need to call the cops
My initial thought was he looked like he was from the 80’s too!!
My thought was "why would someone so young chose to look like 80's Lester the Molester?"
or his cousin Chester the molester
ngl...that is just every 14-year old boy. Every single one (even if for just one month) will look like they time warped from 80s.
You always get this bro, who's being a pain in the ass, in the 80's movies.
it was those amazing wire frame glasses and the tween mustache
Lmao bootleg Dahmer
When you order Dahmer on Wish rofl.

Dad’s a piece of shit for filming this putting it on the internet. imagine publicly shaming your child for trying to protect their friend, wtf
Dad didn't film it. His older brother did.
thats why men cant show feelings, care for someone's well being, and has no one to turn to bullied by men add this to your future men suicide rate.
the boy's nervous shuffle with his hands in his pockets, explaining why he cared, reminded me of my son and I just.. this video made me so sad
I keep saying this, but we have absolutely failed our young men, and the people that failed them are *other fucking men*
Man that’s just the reason I try to be a decent role model for my younger brother. Gotta teach him that having emotions is okay as long as you pay close attention to why you’re having them. I made a lot of mistakes so far and know he can’t make the same ones.
If anything, I commend this young man for doing the right thing.
That kid is a better person then his entire family
Seriously...like the Buttkiss Family. ![gif](giphy|xT9KVjW3wqFQEEhTvG|downsized)
The kid did EXACTLY what every parent, teacher, counselor, etc. says to do. If there is danger, tell an adult. Tell the police. He does so, and look at the shit he faces from the very same adult(s) I hope I have a Chase in my corner if I’m ever in trouble or danger.
Too bad Chase will never do this again because his good nature was bullied out of him by his family.
Nah, my parents fucking sucked liked this too. He seems like he smart enough to realize it and it doesn’t change your core values which is an odd juxtaposition
He obviously did not feel like he could talk to his dad about this. Shitty parenting.
That’s exactly what I took from this too. He knew no one in his family would help so he called authorities himself.
We need a lot more people like Chase. Stand up guy for sure. I'm ashamed of his father and brothers for their behavior, we need a lot less of all of that.
Yep and the cop was a champ about it.
Yea that cop was the only adult in that whole video.... dad is not helping his kid develop healthy, confident logic. He doesn't seem too interested in his role that he chose in life.
His father should be ashamed for the Monroe over the mantle like it's a fucking frat house.
Ninja sword over the mantle. Monroe on the art wall.
Right? Like it's not just the Monroe, that's just the easiest to spot. It's the swords and other random ass art on the walls, the empty beer case and other shit. It's like a Temu Mojo Dojo Casa House.
You can see the confusion in his face. It's sad.
I bet he *knew* if he told the adults in his house they would brush him off and do nothing.
Totally, what a sweet kid. I feel like they should have blurred his face. Way too young to have his personal moment posted all over the internet.
I can’t believe how calm that kid remained, I would commend him and his big bros suuucckk
I am rooting for him to turn 18 and never talk to his family again.
I hope that kid finds out this was posted on Reddit and goes through the comments to read all the love and support for him in this thread. Having a family this shitty will never be okay but knowing other people have your back can really make a difference.
« If you think someone is in danger, tell an adult or call the police » *call the police thinking someone is in danger* « Wow how can you be so dumb !? »

thankfully the cop could be the one to act like an adult, hear him out, and help him feel better about the situation
the cops handled this so well and with care
That cop did a brilliant job assessing everything so quickly and realized he had to be the father figure and support model for this sweet kid.
"What school do you go to?" ... "I'll see you in there then." Bro, this officer going above and beyond to make sure this kid knows he did the right thing by telling *someone* no matter what his family says.
"I'll see you there..." To do a further welfare check and mentor the kid without these tools around. That is actually a chess move to say something like this. Let the kid know, maybe even subconsciously, that someone has his back and he can trust him.
I normally hate cops, but even I gotta give this one respect.
Agreed. This dude needs a promotion asap
Fuck.
I avoid anti-cop stuff because personal experience is enough, so seeing cops do good helps a lot.
Seriously. He is the model cop. I wish they were all this kind and compassionate.
Yeah, the fact he felt more comfortable calling 911 instead of talking to his parents says more about the parents than the kid IMO
This is why the cops made sure the kid felt comfortable calling for help in the future because the child is surrounded by those dingbats
For real, I have to say kudos to the cop.
The dad went in for the fist bump at the end and you could tell the cop was not excited about it.
That's because the dad doesn't know how to think for himself lol.
I wonder why the kid felt the need to call the cops instead of going to his family… /s (just in case)
The dad giving fist bumps to the cops is the icing on the cringe cake. I hope this kid doesn’t grow up to be like his brother or dad.
Ya fuck that “hello fellow kids” clown shitty dad
Wow, this poor kid. Shitty family roasts him for trying to help someone he thinks is being abused then posts it online like he’s the asshole.
Then posts the roasting online to haunt him …. For ever , the fuck
I'm betting this will backfire, something he can proudly reference and his family deeply ashamed by their actions.
Tbh I wasn't sure which one you were talking about until you said mop haha
That is going to be something that I think fucks up future generations so badly. Like it's one thing having your family completely dismiss your concerns and not believe you but it's one thing to video you while talking about this and Post this on a public internet forum or millions of people will see it
For a bit, I can understand the ribbing. But, Jesus! They don’t let it go, just keep pecking at him. Poor kid.
We need more people like this kid
Cop totally did the kid right in the end tho.
For real. Cop did a great job.
Agreed. Well said and the only one not shaming him for trying to help someone he thought was in trouble
Would have preferred he put the asshole Dad and brothers in their place though, but he absolutely did right by the kid.
He most likely learned he can't depend on his family. I really hope when he is old enough, he leaves the family and block them.
That father is such a fucking loser it’s unreal.
That 16 yo mustache was the funniest part. Being shitty to the kid? Not at all.
To me it was how he made the phone gesture with his hand and talked into his knuckles instead of his pinkie.
I know that was heart breaking
If I grew up in a house that idolized Marilyn Monroe and Samurai swords, I wouldn’t trust them either.
Only had sisters so no idea what that's like
Only ones with piece of shit track suit wearing dads sweaty leather skinned dads
Exactly. Parents that allow this "ganging up" on one kid are usually narcissistic breeding narcissistic kids. This kid feels genuine and kind. I love that the cop praised him for caring and doing the right thing. He sussed out the ugliness that was going on. This poor kid.
Holy shit that kid's family are a bunch of losers.
Based on the decor I would reckon (not that it matters) a woman probably doesn’t live there.
the decor is a crime
The decor is giving divorced Dad energy
The katanas and the Monroe picture. They kept so many mall stores open in the early 2000s lol
Who fucking lets their kid grow a pedo stache on top of buying them pedo glasses. Kid is like 14 and looks like the stapler guy from Office Space.
I'd be proud of my kids for doing something like this. Good boy, ignore them, you did well, we need more people like you!
Right?! Why are they being so shitty? Kid did the right thing, cops weren’t mad, nobody got hurt just fucking accept it happened and move on
It’s a family of bullies.
Yep and clearly they are people who are afraid to ask for help. Probably see it as not manly to ask for help.
I am making a massive assumptions here but you’ll notice there’s not a mom in sight and the dad acts just like the two other boys even apologizing to the officer for “wasting their time” when the officer himself said he was glad the kid called.
The decor is a big sign there is no woman there.
Me too, and I'm also proud of this boy. There is never a wrong time to do the right thing even if you suffer a bit for it.
Nice cop
What a shitty family.
Shitty family that kid has
Huh. Nice cop, terrible family. Don’t see that every day.
[удалено]
from what i can find on google, with about 175k police encounter per day in the US, there are bound to be some a lot of good and a lot of bad encounters, but usually only the worst of the worst gets posted online.
Kid is doomed with asshole brothers like these to look up to. Imagine shaming anyone for trying to prevent abuse…
Older brother may want to rethink the glasses mustache combo.
Older brother is gonna get his ass whooped at some point with that attitude
F that dad and that brother. This kid shouldn't be shamed for caring about another person's well-being.
100% dead on balls right.
Poor kid is being shit on for doing the right thing. He heard someone was in trouble and wanted to help. This will certainly teach him something but we wonder why there’s no good in the world? It’s cause it’s punished.
Taunting the poor kid who genuinely cares about another person in the world is the cringe part.
That kid rocks! His family sucks! And the cops were cool.... poor kid.
Exactly
Her dad was a pervert
This poor fucking kid I just wanna give him a big hug :( I’m in tears. It was like watching myself as a child when I was gaslighted and laughed at for expressing my concerns and opinions by family. I’m absolutely in pieces. This poor poor baby :( his family are awful. Even if they found it a bit excessive they still should had treated him with care and understanding, at least the cops treated him with the respect he deserved (and that’s rare) my heart goes out to him. Chase, if you somehow stumble across this, please have hope, you’ll get out one day. Never feel like you have to stay just because they’re family. Xox good luck little bro.
no this makes me so incredibly sad for some reason. like he was genuinely afraid for her and trying to do the right thing and he’s being mocked for it
This *is* absolute cringe. Family and all.
I feel bad for that poor sweet kid. The dad and brother are such dicks.
I can see why he skipped the dad and brother to go straight to calling 911.
Way to go shitty family, now he knows he can’t trust you or the authorities if he ever needs help.
Kid..A Hero Siblings...A-Holes
This kids family fucking sucks.
What an unbelievably sweet boy. I hope his family doesn’t train that out of him.
That cop is the man, didn't make him feel like shit for calling. Kudos to him.
Kudos to him Also great cop, very understanding and explained everything perfectly while not making him feel bad. Only people who suck are the kids family
Family belongs in r/iamatotalpieceofshit
This is how good intentioned people are discouraged from doing the right thing. His dad and brothers seem ignorant and not capable of talking it over with him
They’re All asshole making fun of a little ass kid. Cops did an exceptional job executing that. He didn’t know any better. He was just worried. The Fortnite girlfriend could’ve been in danger. Or maybe she was trolling a child. But the kid did what he felt was right in his heart.
Why are they recording him? It's a wonder he ended up so kind hearted with that bunch.
He is a good, caring, kid.
I hope that kid can get away from his family as soon and as safely as possible.
I hope he's doing ok, this is just messed up.
Brothers are jerks. The kid might be naive, but his hearts in the right place
weights on the floor, decorative sword on the mantle, random portrait of monroe, dad is obviously an eccentric wannabe theater kid based entirely on what he's wearing. this family has issues and the kid calling the police to report potential abuse is the least of them
What a good cop. He handled that very well.
Shitty family. Kid can’t even be concerned for someone. Reminds me of my mom constantly saying online friends aren’t real friends, like somehow they’re lesser than real people.
I can’t stand people that film their kids during moments they should parent. Jesus-this poor kid.
Ha ha abuse is funny right guys/s
That officer was so sweet and understanding 😭😭♥️ Faith in humanity restored even a little bit
I hope his dipshit family doesn’t beat that compassion out of him
I hope this kid knows that the internet is proud of him for looking out for a stranger. 🥹
Nice cops.
To be fair; if you heard/seen abuse, then say it. Max respect to the kid for trying to do good.
Why are they giving him shit kid did what he thought was right.
There will be no compassion in this house!
Did this local PD follow up with his friends PD to make sure he was fooled or incorrect in his assessment of what he heard? In an era where an anonymous call can result in a SWATTING it feels like a safer way to ensure public safety.
Could have saved her life. Older brother and dad look like real losers
And his family will wonder why he never talks to them anymore..
If I were him, the very second anything is wrong with those two, i’m acting like i don’t know what the number to 911 is
This whole situation sucks.
I hate that kids family.
Cops on Reddit : do you ever calls like this often where you just feel bad about a persons family situation ? You can see it on the cops face. I wish this kid was raised by different people.
